  1. I would still be interested in seeing the pictures if they are L Fenders.
  2. I think these will speed up things, I’m also going to prime my old ones because I have them down to bare metal, and like you said I’ll put them up for extras .
  3. Yes I had talked to the guy about them a while back and had even looked at the right one about a year ago, but he didn’t want to sell the left one at the time, So I asked him again last week and we made a deal, they were not to far away and not to expensive, so I’ll do some work on them and try to keep moving on this 47 year project. ( the shop Cat gave them a look over)
  4. My Grandson and Me went on a “ Last Ditch “ Fender Search yesterday, they were only a couple hours away, got a pretty good left one and a fairly decent right, ( has rust at rear) but both are way better than mine. I’ll get them blasted this week and see how they look.
  5. I heard about the Trooper , Totally Heartbreaking, Then finding out what a Scum did it ,,,, Then that craphole town would not even fly a thin blue line flag 1/2 mask for him. We may have gone off topic, but GOOD People are going to have to Stay on topic or we won’t have a Country .
  6. I’m going to try to make the truck show tomorrow at the NC transportation museum, I’ll bring the 55 LTH . Let me know if you’re in the area.

It was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but they changed to June 1 , so it probably didn’t get on the web . Hopefully I can make it by 9:30 or so . 828 777 3406 is my cell.

  7. Thanks for the info Steve, I’ll give him a call, I got my shutters and the inside of the doors painted today, so if I can stay focused I’ll be ready for some fenders ( or repair mine) by the end of summer.
  8. Thanks for all the compliments, Yes we have plenty more stuff setting around to distract me from the LJ ,, Yellow truck in the background is one distraction, I sanded it lightly last fall and shot a coat of semi gloss clear over it, trying to keep it looking like the previous owner restored it in about 1973 , I will start a separate topic on it when I get some more pics and time ,, it has a great history. Going to try to paint my Shutters for the LJ tomorrow. ( here’s a better pic of the Yellow Truck, 1955 LTH )
  9. Got another day in ! A little progress!
  10. Matt , hope you keep posting updates on the 73 ,, that’s my inspiration! Especially since I’m seeing you drive it , that’s keeping me going on this LJ more than anything! Congratulations on all those views!
  11. I’ve been making a little progress this spring, Then Baseball Season got in full swing for my Grandson . Got some more parts blasted, primed. Trying to get a few hours in a week.
  12. THANKS for the Pictures,,, A good start to Spring!
  13. I’m just glad the truck is getting saved so our younger generations can see it,Hopefully there are some kids that will appreciate it , My Grandson is all into old trucks and trains, he may have no desire for them when he’s older but he’s still been given the opportunity to know what built this Nation! Many Thanks to Gary for being able to save a piece of history!
  14. I just watched the video! Great,, I hope it gets restored !
  15. Vald , Thank you for the information. Hopefully I can make a connection about it, or another set of fenders , I’m making pretty good progress on the doors, I’ll keep chipping away.
  16. I think Dad might have had a book with some old pictures of North Carolina trucking company’s ,, I found these with some old pictures. Hopefully they will show up enough to read the caption. I promise I’ll stop chasing Rabbits! And get back on topic !
  17. Thanks for the Trailer sleeper pictures ! Unreal what those guys did back in the day compared to today’s trucking. The picture I have ( when I find it) had a small door in the left front, I’m unsure how they got in ,but it shows a guy laying in it with the door open and the driver standing beside it, I think it had some sort of a flag that if he needed to stop the driver could see it in the mirror. I even heard they tried a suspended rope system in the nose of the trailer at one point. I have never seen a picture of the one under the trailer! These all make the 24 or 28 bunks look like a King Size!
  18. A little more sanding, a little more priming,, beautiful day today.
  19. Great Reading! I think the sleeper mattress in my H Model is 24 inch,, but all those are better than the trailer with the sleeper in the nose, My Dad had a picture of one, I’m sure I could find it here somewhere . The old sleepers are interesting to me.
  20. I saw a YouTube video on this LJ ,, it was posted about 5 years ago. It looks like the truck was being parted out, the video may have been taken in NE Pennsylvania. If anyone recognizes it please let me know, Here is a screenshot of the video, Many Thanks. Dean
  21. I’m glad you answered his question, I remembered you having to repair yours.
