  1. not between the stud holes no. mine cracked where the flat mounting surface begins to curve
  2. Me too. even with the plastic ring. Perhaps it is because aluminum and steel flex at different rates. Anyway once my steel rims cracked i replaced them with aluminum on the inside. No problems after that.
  3. not there anymore
  4. Does the rd already have 58s or are you going to take one with like 44s and put 58s in it? Does an rdsx have a triple frame? I know that the 55/58 and up eagles attach from the outside in and the lesser ones from the inside out.
  5. I see.... that must be another reason why we are paying some the most expensive fuel/road taxes in the country and still have some of the worst roads. Natural gas is cheap as dirt here. isn't that reason enough to switch?

  8. That is a Mirror-tech mirror. they have a website.. My local mack dealer (Reading Mack) got mine for me.
  9. Yeah Volvo had to spin them off when they got Mack. The Feds said they couldn't couldn't have the expediter and the MR and LE. thats like the whole market. Yeah I know peterbilt makes one but really Mack owns the garbage truck market.
  10. the Brockway already has a speed limiter With 6.44s in the diffs its called the governor.
  11. Thanks for the tip. I took a ride out there today and picked up some of the parts i needed. He got me me a new tube and one decent used trunnion. Nice guy and super knowledgeable.
  12. Progress has been slow lately. I got the tube out. i was playing around with it for a while and finally got annoyed enough to fire up the torch and just start cutting. Once i did that it took less than an hour and there was no damage to the casting which is what had me so timid. I was also pleased to get all of the pins out intact( after much rosebud work) as they are very pricey. the first spring shop guy told me i would never get them out. I only had to cut two lock collars. now i can't find new ones so a friend is going to make them for me. I am taking a trip to Jersey City tomorrow for the new trunnion tube.
  13. Middle men, as an owner operator i never wanted to work for one. However in many places they seam to have things pretty well locked up. Also many large contractors don't want to deal with with twenty independents when they can just call one guy who "controls" twenty trucks. These are just my observations and things can vary from place to place.
  14. I saw this post on CL http://houma.es.craigslist.org/trp/4799930463.html.
  15. Now I appreciate spokes but as a kid( 21) the first thing i did to my first truck (a FLC12064) was take off those six spokes and put on budds. I liked that alcoa look and i was getting paid by the ton.
  16. care to elaborate for the uninitiated. such as myself
  17. I talked to Charlie yesterday and he has the tube. He is going to call me back about some of the other parts i need.
  18. I want thank eveyone for all the sugestions and leads. I will be calling Charlie today. My serial number is F361LL78383
  19. Didn't know they had the brockway archives there. Thanks. I will want that information anyway
  20. i would like to. i have tried to register but i never get a confirmation email. i did look in my spam folder . idk what i'am doing wrong. I have been reading there for a long time but have never been able to register.
  21. That trunion shaft still isn't out. I' am tempted to cut it out but i need to know that i can get a replacement first. I called Stengle bros. they can get me the bushings but they need part numbers look up the other stuff. How do you look up parts for a brockway? i think it is an AC6u suspension but how do i know exactly.
  22. Saw this truck in the TNT. 15000 he has them listed for. I think it said Norristown. I like the trailer i wonder how much separately
  23. Tore into it today. My friend and i put in a full day,,,man this stuff is heavy. Tunion bearings... what trunion bearing. The main beam is shot. notice how you don't need to replace bushings you can just weld steel plate over them. Hope to have everything disassembled by the end of the weekend.
  24. or post a picture of your axles on here and someone will tell you what you have. Ratios are stamped in the carrier
