  1. i saw one in the junkyard about six months ago. called about it today... already gone but they come around every so often. what ratio do you want. i would think you could get the whole cutoff for around $1500.
  2. You could get 30000 lb mack rear which looks just like the single axle verision of the 58000 lb tandem. I don't know if they had a single axle version of the 65000 lb tandemRA30Single.pdf
  3. imho barn doors are more of a pia than they worth. Stumps and demo are some of the few applications where they are actually needed even then i would rather have something like this
  4. This looks interesting ( no connection). He has listed it several times and it doesn't meet reserve. I was considering it for the brockway but i found a used body that is going to work great.
  5. I always thought it would be neat to send the cones out for chroming. bet it would be pricey though.
  6. I had a RD with a bibeau bfl body( with posts) i got about 12000 hrs on it before the floor got a little thin in the last couple feet. I once punched a hole in the floor when the loader guy drop some r8s in none to gently, but you can hardly blame the body for that. All in all i was very pleased with the body.
  7. Never seen that one . could you post a picture. thanks

I just saw this. the brown cab over used to be mine. I loved that truck. when i had it it had a 400 small cam in it however it came fro the factory with a kt450
  9. I'am not sure what you mean by finese. but having run both I much prefer the hooklift to the cable type. a couple of reasons are 1 you can pick cans at an angle with a hook. 2 you don't have to get out of the cab to load. 3 you can use the hook like a crane I totally agree on the light weight thing... you can use it like a dump truck but you can't get the tonnage like one
  10. 3176 vs mechanical e7 it would be no contest in my book and i even like CERTAIN cat engines. The mechanical e7 is the best/most well balanced dump truck engine ever. My e7 had the lowest cost of ownership of any truck engine i ever ran. Also, i would like to see a picture( from the side) of that rear suspension.
  11. post pictures of the the two different hubs and axles and then people will know what you have and will be able to help you. i guess that you are describing the hubs by their radius i have always heard them described by their diameter. I.e., you have 22s and would like 20s.
  12. the truck belongs to my brother. i' am not sure who owns the beam.
  13. Talking of Morissey reminded me to take some pictures of this.
  14. I got mirror tech mirrors from my local mack dealer, but they did have order them in. Great mirrrors
  15. Sold last thursday. on ironplanet (#521347). i think you can still see all the pictures if you search that number. Awesome looking truck
  16. Just saw this now. Really nice loads there. Would you id the excavator and the crawler for me? That Rogers beam looks like pretty stout trailer. How many tons is/was it?
  17. I need help understanding this chart. 5th low doesn't use the countershaft? The gear set ratio for fourth is .86 how does it get to be .70.
  18. i must have a pretty similar setup on the Brockway 270 cat 8ll ( i think) with 6.44s.
  19. When i went to look at the brockway the previous owner told me it was a nine speed. When i was looking underneath i saw the trans and knew it wasn't a nine speed because of the extra section on the back. I thought it looked like a fifteen speed but the id tag was long gone. Then i found the deep reduction switch next to seat ( it was safety wired in out position). When i asked the guy about it he said " I never used it it was too slow". What is strange about this trans is you don't use the first gear position in the high side. It does act like a nine speed instead of a ten speed like any fifteen speed i remember driving. So what is it?
  20. Got it, thanks. Oversize pins get em at mack or somewhere else?
  21. Could you describe this procedure in detail. Are the dowels eccentrics? or can you buy different ones? . its obvious i don't understand
  22. took mine off and pressure washed it. 3/8 bolts. LOTS of cracking
