  1. Thanks guys. It's 72 series sae #1, i'll double check the bolt size but i think they are 3/8. yarnall let me know when is a good time. ( i'am going away this weekend) i'll take the old one off and bring it with me.
  2. mine has much brazing. and i would like to replace it while i have it apart. i'am in berks county pa. thanks
  3. What's the story with these? I keep seeing similar trucks at different dealers and auctions. There are three at the Quarrick auction on thursday.
  4. If you come across those brochures and wouldn't mind scanning them. I would like to see them. thanks
  5. Anyone ever seen a dump body with removable sides like this before? I looks pretty unique to me. The thing is in poor shape and i was thinking of replacing it but it is kinda growing on me. It's going to definitely need a floor.
  6. Does the vent on the carrier look new. the caps seem to come off of them and turn them into little funnels. People don't always notice right away and some people may not drain the rear after discovery.
  7. From the album: 1962 b61sx

    painting frame before installing engine
  8. Was Diamond Reo spun off later because i remember somedody building them in the harrisburg area in the 90s. Or was this still part of white (volvo)?
  9. I bought new ones in PA last year. from carl king tires sales and service (610) 754-0202. Carl got me the best price i could find and i know he ships. there are also these on ebay right now. 10r17.5 will be considerably cheaper and can be a good retrofit IF you can live with the much lower weight rating and watch the slr (static loaded radius) basically you'll be losing ground clearance.
  10. I first asked about adjusting the clutch when i saw the six adjusting nuts on the fingers of the pressure plate. Are these ever adjusted? what are they for? perhaps only when being setup by the clutch shop.
  11. Thanks. i just hope it dosen't sound like a guy trying to put a roadranger in gear with a wasted clutch brake. I've had to drive plenty of those. i would always start them in gear and just hold the clutch at lights. but some guys don't care and would just shove/ grind it in
  12. Clutch brake? reading through old posts i learned they are countershaft mounted on push clutches. i don't see one anywhere. were they optional? anyone have a pic of this setup.
  13. Looks good. I always wondered why someone would spec a truck with mack rears and hendrickson suspension when they could have camelback? Any insight?
  14. got clutch back today . they put ceramic buttons on the flywheel side and kevlar on the pressure plate side. I think its interesting that the pressure plate looks to be original and has rebuilding date stamp from 63 , 68 , and 77. in 1963 the thing would have only been a year old maybe someone was learning to drive.
  15. Is that a t318 or a t2180? i don't know when they switched. either way the first gear will be about 13.5 to 1 compared to 14.56 for a fuller 8ll like i assume your RD has. this wouldn't be that bad but i would be concerned that a ch probably doesn't have steep enough gears in the rears for off road work. My 1996 rd688s had 4.46 rears 24.5 tires and an 8ll and i thought it was the perfect on/off road truck. Sorry i can't be more help on the trans as i don't have much time with mack 18. i just wanted to remind you to think about the overall ratio when looking at a truck for off road.
  16. talked to D W clutch yesterday they are rebuilding my clutch. They said just adjust externally for free play.
  17. What is the proper way to adjust the single disk clutch? thanks
