  1. You can get frame rails from the US dealer as well somewhere around $ 20k for a full double set. I have no problem with them making a profit..but it seams to me that pricing is designed to discourage the repair of older trucks. Bring on the PAI frame rails.
  2. I was told no splay about a year ago .by them.
  3. well, i put 2 lbs of r12 in since i couldn't find an answer. stays around 35 psi on the low side gauge... i'll run it for awhile and see if it is satisfactory.
  4. How many lbs. of r-12 should be in a 1987 rd686sx. The sticker on my 1995 rd688 says 3lbs but that is r134a. no sticker to be found on the 87
  5. did i miss where he tells us what size tire he wants to run?
  6. post a side shot of the rears/suspension and folks here will be able to tell you what you have. ratios are stamped in the carriers might need to dig out the wire brush. what transmission you have will also be a factor .
  7. looks like a 16ft body with about 25 ton of stone in it...but it could be a less dense material. Another question : what rears/suspension are in the first one? looks like it could be 50k
  8. nice find. i see these are vented original was not but i'am sure the threads are the same
  9. that number supersedes to 25132213 86 dollars ... are you kidding me
  10. that is the first time i have seen an 81sx with 44s for rears. Is it possible they have been changed out?
  11. If you are still going to plow with it. I would not want to engage a trans mounted pto every-time i wanted to raise the plow.
  12. I wonder how much it would add to the cost? As much as i hate new trucks and try to live with KISS as my motto, This is tempting. I know i get in and out of my cab at least a hundred times a day to move a couple feet.
  13. I was attempting to making a sarcastic comment about your average Peterbilt fan boy having to associate with trucks he most certainly looks down his nose at.
  14. My 1989 overhaul manual says that the 300L and the 400 are both 16.5 to 1 compression ratio and interestingly the both use the same nozzles. I don't know if cam timing is the same though. I would check with a parts dept to see if they both use the same timing gears.
  15. Many gliders are Paccar and many glider engines are series 60. Yet when you have trouble on the road good luck finding Detroit help(parts/knowledge) at a Paccar dealer. Drivers would be better off heading to DTNA... how humiliating😉.
  16. How long until this comes to the U.S. ? Perhaps Mack?
  17. Generally i think that is about right... However there is always the exception... maybe these rears were swapped.
  18. My my RW713s has no x in its model name even though a similarly speced RD or DM would. Whats up with that?
  19. anybody got a paint code for the gold?
  20. My 1987 RD686SX. Not much difference except for the tubeless tires and previous owner converted the front to hub pilot.
  21. the bottom one sure does look like its a peterbilt underneath.
  22. is there any advantage of taking a front axle made for grease and running oil in it? thats what it looks like they have done here.
  23. Why would anyone buy a new truck from a manufacturer they know is going to gouge them on parts.. eventually? Seems kind of short sighted.
