  1. The red one at the dealer? Yes those are 12/24 inch rubber. Some day I'll have to dig some of my other ones. I have pics of one of the first DMM tandem tandem mixers to be delivered in my area. That was quite the sight when they first came out.
  2. I personally like the looks of that though. Better than a Granite. Put a 20,000 front axle with 425 series wide base tires and that would be mint. Shows how far downhill truck design has gone today when I now consider a CH to have good old classic looks, LOL.
  3. Well, you can buy a dump box and put it on any truck you order. But every state and province is different, but that truck would be no good to me. Because here they base your allowable gross weight off all your axle ratings (along with tire size, wheel base, axle spreads, etc.) So without a 20,000 front axle and springs I wouldn't be allowed to haul much on that. I think the CH only came from factory with up to a 16,000 front end, but I could be wrong?
  4. That sounds awesome. Love that truck. It's carrying bigger loads than I am legal to carry on road with a big 4 axle truck! LOL.
  5. Nothing at this point. Enjoying life for a change right now. Trying to decide between a few different options. It's pretty tempting when you can change careers and make almost as much money with nothing but a lunch pail.
  6. That may be the case, but they also need to quit working for nothing driving the rates into the ground. Like I said, we have new trucks, over $200,000 each and we have to compete with guys that have old junk and have to hide from the MTO/DOT and work for $53/hour. But now with the emissions and SPIF laws it is finally forcing some of them to have to upgrade. And it looks good on them when they are going broke. That's why I quit hauling salt. Picture this scenario.....You have a $220,000 truck and a $160,000 three axle pony dump trailer. Hauling 42 tonnes of salt, 63,500 KG gross up and down 8 to 12% hills for 5 hours each way of the trip. In blinding snow storms. And for that you get to make just over $200 for the day after you pay the fuel. And we quit and yet guys keep flocking to them to do it. And you say $15,000 for a bull bar. Last time I priced a Mik Mak moose bumper (same thing basically) that are heavy duty and can withstand moose hits, it was $3500 to $5000 here depending on options. May have went up now with all the tariff's but still wouldn't be that high.
  7. You gotta be kidding me with those prices!!! You guys must have way better rates than we do here! It's hard enough to pay for a $220,000 truck here. We still got idiots that will work a 4 axle dump truck for $53.00/hour.
  8. I never noticed that before! LOL. Yes it is a coe of the same color parked just in the right spot, LOL.
  9. I don't think I posted them before? LOL I'm pretty sure that Red R700 new on the lot went into the steel mill also. I know they had two in there that pulled a 100 ton float. They had the big 50 or 65,000 Mack rears on camelback. They also had 3406 Cat's in them, but not sure if that is what they originally had. They now got turned into International Paystar's. They used the engines and axles and suspension in newer International frame and body. I used to know the details of the Superliner too, but I forgot. I thought it had a KT Cummins, but it almost looks like Caterpillar badges on it? I can't zoom in because those are scanned off of photos so the quality isn't great.
  10. I forgot I had these I took a FEW years ago. Pics from our old local Mack dealer that was in town in the 70's and 80's. And some trucks. The big float is was bringing some fabrications into the steel mill here.
  11. Wonder how their pricing will compare to Mack/Star/International, etc? Anyone ever compare the price of an Xpeditor to a Mack or Pete coe?
  12. They had some nice interior features, but the price looked scary, LOL. And hopefully Australia Star's are built better than mine was. Never been so happy to see a truck go away! LOL.
  13. I tried to get a set of snorkel's for my Star Swishy, which we just sold, but the prices were crazy, especially with the shipping. My friend ended up making a set for his Titan when the stock filter intakes rotted off it. Any of you from Australia see these Western Star Road Star's? https://www.theherald.com.au/story/4705856/is-this-the-ferrari-of-the-trucking-world/#slide=2
  14. Any close-up pics of the B dump? That is nice.
  15. How much are they in Australia? A new Western Star 4900 dump truck like the one I run is $227,000 in Canada. That is (what they call tri-axle here.....steer, steering lift, tandem rear, 21 foot dump box.) And highway tractors with high rise sleepers are around $180,000 Canadian.
  16. Wow! All nice stuff there.
  17. I don't have to worry about that. I don't get dirty, LOL.
  18. Probably a typo. And it's still just as ugly down under, LOL.
  19. Ya, I'm not into this new fad of replacing gauges with electronic display screens. They don't want distracted driving but they now make you toggle through multiple screens to find info. But the sad part is, most of the new generation that designs and drives trucks wouldn't understand what the info on a gauge is telling them, LOL.
  20. Yes, many times I have to put my dust cloth over the steering wheel when I am driving it. But it looks nice parked, LOL.
  21. That, and like my old Star, a chrome steering wheel looks good but the damn thing blinds you every time the sun gets on it, LOL.
  22. I love it. Way nicer than all the other new trucks with their "automobile inspired" dashes. At least this looks like a truck. That was the only thing I liked about my Star. Old school dash and room for 20 gauges. Too bad the rest of the truck was junk. But even Star has made changes to the dash this year to make them more car driver likable. Pretty sad.
  23. Surprises me to see a Cummin's engine. I thought they were big on integrated powertrains. Together with Navistar they are supposed to be working on a new engine for north America. I know nothing about their trucks, but I do enjoy my VW car and SUV. Unfortunately I cannot buy any more. My dealer put their hoist through the floor of my wifes new Jetta when it was in for an oil change, and neither them or VW Canada would do anything about it. So they lost me as a customer.
  24. I love this truck! Stock, not all customized and ready to go to work.
  25. Even though the Capone truck is Volvo era.....I always did like the looks of those too.
