  1. That looks very nice. Like your choice of colors.
  2. Well, I gotta apologize to all you guys. I've been here before defending Mack and Volvo and really still wanted to be a Mack fan, but you guys were all correct. Mack is going down the crapper. That is the ugliest, goofiest looking thing I have ever seen. Hahahahaha. Where did they find those designers? Good lord! Mack has finally lost me. They want to ignore heavy haul and off road....and then the best they can do is come out with the new Tonka toy robot. And that grill looks even more hideous on the axle forward that is coming. But at least on the axle forward you can just replace the grill with the current one to make it look decent again. And that interior that all models are getting. What's with the flat bottom steering wheel? Is that so the new breed knows when they are going straight? And I bet the dash is just like the M2/108SD Freightliners......I bet you can't see that bottom row of gauges at all without craning your neck up over the steering wheel. All I gotta say is FAIL. Glad I got a 4900 Western Star.
  3. If that is what the new model will look like, I would never want one. Those are the ugliest shaped fenders, headlights and grill I have ever seen. What a joke. That would be a great autonomous truck. That way you wouldn't have to be seen in it, LOL.
  4. Correct Link. http://www.trucknews.com/equipment/mack-gains-ground-sees-room-growth/1003077879/ I can hear the Volvo haters grimace, LOL.
  5. Correct Link. All Hail Volvo! LOL. http://www.trucknews.com/equipment/mack-gains-ground-sees-room-growth/1003077879/
  6. I copied the wrong link. There is a new one in this months issues of Today's Trucking. Their shares have increased again. So you can't blame Volvo. LOL.
  7. Ya, wrong link. But the latest issue of Today's Trucking just had another article saying their market share has increased. I just copied the old link by mistake, LOL.
  8. I found out why all the improvements to Paccar products. Did you hear about the acquisition?
  9. Mack's market share has increased for the 6th straight year. Volvo's plan is working. http://m.todaystrucking.com/mack-records-sixth-straight-year-of-us-market-share-growth
  10. Volvo's plan must be working. http://m.todaystrucking.com/mack-records-sixth-straight-year-of-us-market-share-growth
  11. And now we'll get to have some of that Scania (along with MAN) technology in International's with VW (parent of Scania and MAN) buying into them. Give us the V8 9900i!!!! LOL.
  12. We had two 2006's, in a Freightliner and a Sterling. Four axle dump trucks that gross 80,000 pounds. They were 450/1650 rating. Never had any issues with them and they were by far the best trucks I have ever seen on fuel. But for some reason lots of guys I know that had them in highway applications couldn't keep them together? Maybe it boils down to maintenance on them? We don't run to the full recommended oil change intervals, always do ours early. So maybe that has something to do with it?
  13. I may be unsophisticated, but I'm on the winning team. Freightliner/Western Star/Detroit will still build me any spec I want, LOL. Any size sleeper with any size motor.
  14. Ya, isn't that ridiculous?
  15. I'll lie cheat AND steal if it means a vehicle with an economy advantage. I don't really care who or how they got it. As long as it benefits ME.
  16. Volvo said the motor grader market has shrunk and they was loosing money??? So they sold the manufacturing rights to SDLG China and this is what it has become. http://www.sdlg.com/products/1966_for_pingdijijixilie_text.htm Tell me how these compare in ANY way to what a Champion or Volvo grader was??? Same here everyone has switched to Deere and Cat now.
  17. I have to laugh at all the people that say they got what they deserved. You are all too short sighted to see they were doing us all a favor with better fuel efficiency and reliability. Same as Detroit Diesel was doing with the 60 Series when they got caught and all this emissions bullshit hit high gear.

    EPA

Is it true? Can this be the best day ever? Was in the news Trump put a stop to the EPA. Not going to get political.......I'm just excited by the hope that once again we can have engines that don't bankrupt us. And no DPF mufflers on my lawn mower. Now all I want to see is the headline: Cat brings back the C15!! LOL. Hopefully he repeals all the fines and charges against VW and Fiat too.
  19. Kinda like how they bought one of the best motor grader companies in the world (Champion), then claimed stuff like the class leading transmission was THEIR design, then they pulled the plug on them last year and sent production to a Chinese company. Meanwhile every city and rural township around here had Volvo graders and they just left them all hanging.
  20. I would have never thought it was true. I guess ya'll are right. Volvo/Mack doesn't care about selling big trucks. Now I'm glad I changed brands after they killed the E9 and CL.
  21. Sad part is almost every dealer I just tried to spec a Granite at tried their best to talk me out of Mack trans, rears and rear suspension.
  22. Thanks for starting the thread on them. Brought back memories. if you search you will find a lot more info here. And also on the big Mack CL350ST's. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/forumdisplay.php?91-Forestry-Equipment&s=47baa4ea3fb4b383aecc4406cc672248
  23. You're welcome. They were a really impressive design.
