  10. I asked Paul and this was his answer. Hippy A swag is bed roll a bit of foam some sheets and blankets and all full covered in water proof canvas and goes straight on the ground most times nice and warm and you can use the outside canvas cover as tarp to stay out of the rain when your stopped for a while Another term for a swag was Matilda hence the poem or song Waltzing Matilda
  11. Welcome LRSIMON, The lettering on the door - Old School Contracting- looks familiar. Hippy
  12. I understand some people don't like the green interior that sits there and stares back at you. But why do they have to paint over it in colors like they do? Overnite repainted our MB green interior twice, first green then tan and it was not very well done either time. Hippy
  13. The best spot mirror l ever had came off a school bus. lt looked like a cat's eye and mounted at a 45' angle on the right front fender. You could see both down the right side and across the grill/bumper in one glance. Watch the lug nuts go round or check if a headlight or fog light was out too! Hippy
  14. The Cornish-Windsor bridge was built in 1866 for $9,000. It was framed on a nearby meadow and later moved to it's proper location It's 449' 5" long with the two spans of 204' and 203' and a width of 24', roadway width of 19' 6" and a vertical clearance of 12' 9". lt is posted for 10 ton. The bridge was reconstructed by the state in 1989 at a cost of $4,450,000. This is the longest wooden covered bridge in the US and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. Info from "NH Covered Bridges a Link With Our Past by the NHDOT". Hippy
  15. Had to laugh when l saw the "Fuzz Buster" sitting on the dash! l had mine mounted over to the right behind the CB. Got caught with it early one morning in VA. Hippy
  16. Paul, My wife is from northern Maine (Aroostook county). She has always said they only had two seasons also. " Winter and damn poor sledding". Hippy
  17. Getting the head gasket and pistons situated, we changed the partially missing battery boxes, found a dog and mount by shi+ luck, and got it to the show. Looking forward to more shows and getting her back to her original fleet status as an Overnite city tractor. Slow but sure 👍
  18. Well, we made our deadline for the Barrington Old truck meet in Deering, NH. It's been a long road in a short time, but the old dog runs good now. Still a long way to go, but we know it will get there and back home now atleast. Cosmetics are on docket now.
  19. Well, Maybe l should start commuting to and from work in the 'ol "MB". Hold 'em all back (wide open on the floor) at 50 mph! lol! Hippy
  20. Jack, They have the signs up for it on 202/9 in Hillsboro. My son and l are planning on going Sunday. Hope to see you there. Hippy
  21. Looks like they had to enlarge the doors of the house. bulldogboy, ls that the Amherst St station just up from Main St?
  22. Another good looking cab over there with the GMC Astro.
  23. Junk. Solo clutches are intended for long haul OTR companies who has zero maintenance control when the steering wheel holder can't figure out that they have no free play. At the dealer I work at, we finally got it thru our sales dept to spec only easy pedal clutches. And we only put Solo's back in if warranty or customers request. They never work right and 9 times out of 10, easy pedals, when driven correctly, get double the mileage (similar vocation) as a junk solo clutch.
  24. Congratulations Firebuster on finding your truck!! And nice job grayhair for seeing it on Oldmacks.com Hippy
  25. Thanks for the tid bits of information. Having a real hard time sourcing pistons for the old girl. My local Mack guy is going to call Barry at Watts tomorrow, but does anyone know where I could get pistons for this, OEM or aftermarket? 4.875 bore with the 1.875 wrist pin. I found plenty of 2 inch wrist pin pistons available. I found PAI has the right config, but its a lower compression ratio piston I'm assuming for a turbocharged engine. 15:1 vs my 16.1:1. Any thoughts on that as well? Thanks!
