Hey mackpro I do see a fair jump in power and not much change in the fuel I use, I also went with the turbo they offer. i had the inj. tested when I got them, mack said they didnt have much life left, so took them to local inj. shop they said they were good and set up pressure in them. the price from rochester is good. Im going to adjust the waste gate to get a few more pounds of boost though, it only gets to about 33psi on a hard pull. check out Illios dyno center http://www.idc-solutions.net/MackE-7DieselPerformance.html#MACK ETEC etech performance power chip module they have this to say 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 Mack E-TEC ETECH - All Models - Power - Mileage - Performance Chip - ECM Re-Flash Tuning & PLUG-IN CHIP MODULES! Rob, good to know you got what I was trying to say. If you go with the HD, DONT get the "big" 110ci stroker motor they will try to sell ya! THEY ARE JUNK! I have seen them with less than 3000 miles leak at base gasket, the cyl. sleeve in the jugs are spiral lock type and due to high heat will move, warp head(high heat) the 96ci are ok they changed the exhaust to under slung to move the heat from the rider. I mean HOT, not heat! leg burning if in traffic. reather then adress the the heat problem, its easier to move the heat problem! some say the trannies whine(turn thre radio up) there were some issues with front tires that have been fixed. JAMES OLD HARLEYS ARE LIKE OLD 2STROKE DETROITS, WHEN THE OIL LEAK STOPS, ITS TIME TO FILL IT UP AGAIN! NEW HARLEYS ARE LIKE NEW MACKS, WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN, WE'LL JUST BLAME IT ON EPA!

Rob, A few things to think about before you buy a bike, INSURANCE! are you a new rider? are you going to put LOTS of miles on to warrent the price? do you have the time to ride to warrent the price? can you ride? can you ride with some one on the back? does momma know how to be a passenger? can you pick the bike up if you drop it? ect... I currently own a 08 road glide, In my situation, because of who I am, I have to own and ride a HD. Would I own a harley as a touring bike if I was not in the situation that I choose to be in? NO dont think I would there are alot better bikes out there (IMO). DONT get me wrong I love harley davidson I most likely will alway own one. BUT dont rule out buying an older goldwing, ect. hell you might not even like/enjoy riding. So togo out and spend big money right off the hop, could be a mistake, a costly one. After just rereading what I wrote, I could have made a fool out of meself cause maybe you have and can ride?! check out the polaris victory brand, they are differnt but cool.Im not try to put you off buying a bike, just there is more than just paying for it! hey tell me to "F off" if Im speaking out of turn. If you want to know more about the HD ask and I will answer james

Hi ever been to Ashley furniture in Stoney creek(hamilton) I think Ive seen the truck there? I have an account in the same ware house james

Hey It's a RB(axle back) it has quarter fenders that are attached to the cab, not the hood. You'll see in the pic the cut out Im talking about. Luckly the fender are a mirror image excluding the cut out, making the job easier! james
-
OK so I've made the bracket, got the air cleaner, bought the clamp rings(258$ APEICE!!) got the left and right fenders off. had to take right off to mimic the cut-out on the left. still need to make stiffner plate, and get alum. pipe for under hood. Im guessing I should make a 45deg or a radius facing forward, where the pipe will join in with the other? james

welcome aboard! ever deliver around hamilton, ont? james

bobo replied to let it loose's topic in Electrical, Electronics and Lighting
You might be surprized to find the indactor lamps in the dash to be the problem, 4 ways will work but sign. will flash and stay on. james -
HOPEFULY THE MAN NOT READING THIS! I live in the nazi province and have NOT turned my truck down nor will I!! I dont know of any one who has been checked, not braggn but I know a few people.

Well.... changed the oil cooler, It looked good(not pluged). BUT there were some metal filings in the coolent tubes!? and no cavatation on the caps. Last time I checked the only moving part in the cooling system is the waterpump. any one got an xray gun I can borrow so I can check the pump LOL! james

how would I go about finding out what the right pully should be? james
-
the other thing I wonder about is a CH/CL used a 5" exhaust from turbo back, bigger rad, bigger air/air, bigger air piping from air inlets and more under hood room. an Rb every thing is smaller yet same motor?

hey thanks for your help! it came from factory as 460, cracked head at 427k, cam(right key) has been replaced twice under policy, its run hot since a day 1, its got 23xxx hours on it, 839k, i buy all my parts at dealer, they treat me well same guys still there when I was apperentice there 19 years ago. You have me thinking about the water pump now, I didnt know there was any difference in the pully size? its a visuc with serpt. belt. I had them ask about a diffent fan blade, mack said not an option, but I keep look for 1 any way! I swear sometime when I watch my temp gauge Im looking at boost pressure it moves up and down so much. again thanks for your help my ears never close! james
-
Its a 460. the real problem is it runs hot, not gonna say over heats but hot(it has shut it down twice last year) it always has since new! Ive had 5 core rad made for it, I clean it alot(take air/air off to blow out) have checked time and time againg for air leaks, checked air comp., done bubble test and comb. gas test, changed water pump, put mechanical gauge in, new vicus fan, switched to longlife(red) coolent, had at dealer number of times and we cant fig. out!? so oil cooler was cheap enough and had the cash, if Im gonna take rad hose off to check for scale, might aswell change it out. like i said its orginal cooler. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I have wondered if i could put a bigger fan(blades) as there is about 2" from tip of blades to shroud. not enough distance from rad to waterpump to put air fan.
-
yea its the round one, its never been changed, I and my local dealership think i have a flow problem, i did water pump 6 month ago. oil analysis has been saying it for awhile. now is the time Im guessing 3/3.5 hours? Im doing it my self so just wondering?
