I have guns always been involved in gun shooting sports. I had a gun when i was 12 years old along with a lot of my school mates never thought about using the firearm for anything other than hunting or target practice. I think in this case that kid should be made to pay for his sins soon jail is to good for him public hanging??? or public electric chair to send the message it just seams these kids have no morals anymore. Someones little bit-- is to good for this kid. -

I had a 1934 vld Harley Davidson that ran and had most all the original parts.the guy i bought it from got it in the early 50's . Then the fun began 2500.00 dollar exact colors paint job 2000.00 for chrome and nickel plating ,hundreds for motor parts i saved money by doing the engine and trans in my shop. When i got done i didn't want to ride it anymore i was too scared i would wreck it so i sold it i should of left it ruff i used to ride it around the backroads. -

My cousin is a judge for a bunch of car shows and i don't think i have the will to bring my mack to the level he expects to see on the cars he judges. A lot are trailer queens not really driven anywere. I don't care if it's not stock, trucks ended up takeing on their own personality after so many years of use and abuse. Any truck looks good to me. -
Within 2 days of getting this thing i got a voicemail saying my muffler was falling off??????

I have been told the john deere tractors that are made in india are prone to more breakdowns than the ones made in other countrys. I have owned 5 Kubota tractors and have had no trouble with any of them. I have a small john deere 1023 to mow the grass i hope it is as reliable as the Kubota's. I have a 1975 ford 2000 that is a pretty good tractor old us made. -

I wonder how many china parts are on our army trucks and air force planes? I do think they could make better parts but do they want to? -

Years ago you went to franconi and got really good quality points and condencers and well made switches, they closed now all i got is napa and them other crap parts pushers. My friend has a car repair garage and he has to order parts very carefully from a bunch of different suppliers being the parts are so iffy. A lot of times he gets oem parts so he somewhat can trust them. He stands by his work and crap parts costs him money and it could end up ending his good rep. -
673 NA covert to turbo
davehummell replied to Carl M's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
wouldn't the compression be a little high on that engine to turbo it? -
In a moment of weakness we decided to get another bernese mtn. dog to replace the one that past from old age. Good god i forgot what puppys can do to your house. He has chewed the crap out of the one stuffed chair chewed all the rungs on my antique kitchen chairs modified the molding around the doors I have had to replace the cylinders on the screen door from opening it up to let him out to go to the bathroom i think i raised the tempature up in the back yard from it open so much. I may just park the spreader by the back door and the loader to clean up after him. This makes 5 dogs in the house it is It is a good thing i am retired i have no time to go to work.

Little engines that can: Big power from small displacements
davehummell replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
I worked on hiab booms for 30 years the first ones had 12 hp. kohlers then 16 hp kohlers the last ones we had those crappy vtwin command engines 20 hp. I ended up trowing them in the corner and repowering them with the old opposed flat twin kohlers. they could do more work at idle than those new? supperdupper command engines at full throttle. same hp. but not the torque. -

WE are spoiled today i started out with a 220 cummins and a 10 speed and ran up to maine out into ohio a VERY slow ride anywere. Then i was a bigdog and bought a 262 cummins with a 4 by 4 what power i was living large. I thought every road was uphill both ways . -

Funny story from years ago I was hauling brick over to a hospital in ny. from a rail siding about ten miles away. I had a 290 cummins with a 10 speed and a 38 foot flatbed . I double stacked the cubes on the trailer to finnish so i could go home when i pulled out? i had no power so i stopped and changed the fuel filters and checked the air cleaner i just couldn't get out of low range i was having a fit i wanted to get home i was up there for 3 days hauling brick. When i finnaly backed up to boom off the bricks i said you dum sh-t no wonder i had about 40 ton on that trailer plus the boom I was lucky i didn't blow out any tires. I didn't like that shortnose cornbinder but that day i felt bad for what i did to it. -

That may be true on paper but i drove a c15 515 hp. and a c12 430 hp. on the same roads i found the smaller engine sucked on hills. I had the same trailer and same weight on the trailer. At my last job we had the newer macks and the pollution crap made them so unreliable i would not want them as an independent trucker. -
I live in anthracite coal country and coal may be good for your electric bill but i have to put up with Centralia , slag heaps, polluted water, mineshafts still open to fall into. In Pittston i think most off the older men had black lung, My uncle had it. My other uncle almost lost his life only saved by forget to bring a tool to the shaft elevator for shift change. I spent many hours working in that dust and silt in the strippings . Now the big thing in my town is gas gas gas wills all over the place miles of farm land dug up for pipelines. Yes we need energy of our own but lets not make mistakes as we did before and make northeast pa. a sh-t hole all over again.

I had a driver that thought wheel torque on studs was hammer on the 1" air wrench until it broke the stud or stripped the nut. To much torque?

Smalls111184 Get a quote from ed barber truck repair on rt 29 in pikes creek I see your in his area. I looked at 2 trucks he did the long rails on and i think he was okay on everything he did. I like my mack but i had to keep a late model mack on the road and the one thing that made that truck a pain in the ass was all the socalled pollution crap evey week it was one thing or other.

I have to add there is a well known piston ring supplier that advertises in some mags. I called to get rings and i was told yep i got what you need I will get right on it for you? I gave up after a month and 2 phone calls. Screw them i got what i needed from perfict seal out of las vegas . I told them what sizes i needed and i had them in 3 or 4 days and no surcharge for the small amount i needed.
