  1. Welcome aboard, there is a lot of information and guys who have been there and done that with Mack's, lots to look at and read about.
  2. Welcome aboard...keep us updated when you make a purchase with some pictures .
  3. So more dis assembly which is the easier part to restoration, just starting to count the hundreds of broken bolts that I will have to replace and change out. So this is a picture of the stock accessory for Mack which I am happy to see...special order and it is the shutter system which closes to add additional heater for cold days. This Mack is a special deal for sure Wyoming Truck for someone who had some extra change in 1942 which I think was unusual. The truck also has the fancy front bumper which will look fantastic in a few weeks since I have sent it out for Chrome work
  4. So if there is a nicer Grill out there I am interested, if not I can repair mine with 100 hours... so looking for a Grill, headlamps the torpedo ones like the factory photo, I do need 1 good rim for the spare. I will post some more pictures tomorrow or Saturday.
  5. This is how the truck was found in the 70's in Wyoming. mostly untouched and was transported to Northern California where the Previous Owner Stored it and dreamed of the truck being restored at some point
  6. The Dust has settled.....so the disassembly is on the way, been busy at work but making time weekly now to get her on the road this year. You can see the Donor Cab beside the crushed one. of course lots of rust expected since she is 75 this year. The Bed is the original and I will be making a new bed by reproducing this exact one. That will come down the road a ways, I am in search of headlamps which are the torpedo style which is in the Manufacture photo. so any leads please let me know, they ran a few different headlamp styles
  7. looks like a nice truck great job keeping the Family thing going, I have some extra parts I can sell...give me a call
  8. Looking at 2 restorations at once this year ..so I am looking for sheet metal, cabs, doors etc. or complete non running trucks. Maybe a running truck depending on price. Looking for NOS parts for restorations as well. thanks for your help let me know what you have and some prices
  9. The body is a Stock Express Delivery Bed. The model of the truck is ( ED ) or Express Delivery. Total production of the Model ED line from 1938-1944 was only 2,686. So it is a rare bird in one sense, Diamond T and I believe REO had similar Express Delivery Beds, Rated from 1 TON to 1 1/2 TONS for a pickup. My truck has a pretty cool story and I am lucky to have it, in this condition not a lot of enthusiasts would want to tackle it , but it is up my alley. trying to source out engine builders and parts etc. so if anyone wants to DM me please do, I am jumping HEAD FIRST this weekend to start on my "1941 MACK PRESERVATION MISSION". I do have a small site up to log my progress and I will update here as well. Thanks again What is the best place to post pictures of my Restoration process ??
  10. Beautiful truck, nice to see a lot of pictures as well !! Richie
  11. No didn't have to pull anything, different than Mack Jr. It is more heavy duty. The truck is rated at 1 to 1 1/2 ton . The doors I believe are completely different. The Mack Jr. 1936/37 Was built off of a REO cab...but he a Mack Nose. These Express Delivery Mack's started in 1938-1944
  12. Yes, a factory bed is on the truck. I am planning on reproducing the ED Bed, it is already in the works. Starting to disassemble today. This truck is a mini tank, made of thick metal,....Love it. So fender by fender here I go. Anyone else out there with early pickups send me some pictures please. My email is richie@oldmacktruck.com ...thanks Below picture is the Deluxe front bumper that was on the truck since new.
  13. Thanks Mike and others for the kind words...I am a metal man and paint guy, I will restore my ED (BONE STOCK) and I will drive it too. The cab is not savable but I have another cab that needs much less. I am working daily on the contacts and designing a plan for the restoration that will start in October. I will keep you guys updated.
  14. Thank you Gentlemen, and excited about this new challenge. I will post some new pictures of the progress next month A lot of trucks never climb out of this condition, I save them one at a time.....
  15. Just joined a few minutes ago and today is basically day 1 for owning a Mack. I have been around old trucks for most of my life and love the character that they all have. I am turning 50 in April and cannot wait to get this truck on the road. A large tree fell on this truck in the early 70's in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Hoping to learn and help down the road with other members trucks etc. On a mission for sure this old Mack had been waiting since the 70's for the restoration. Looking for parts connections used and new to help me leap forward in the start of this Preservation in October.
  16. I have a few other pictures up on a small link at oldmacktruck.com where I will document my journey with this Restoration
