  1. I have a 185 degree kysor 16000 that I would part with. I put a new stat on my restoration part number is 2790.CA200026. I checked the availability screen thru Mack and the factory has stock. It is a direct replacement just the style has changed. The new stat is more condensed(not as big). You can buy a new one or if you want originality you can take mine.
  2. Looks like you have some extras bases for grinders or they make good boat anchors.
  3. 1360LB. FT. TORQUE @ 1200RPM
  4. I would like to know the last recorded rpm's of that dump truck or did the rod bolts back out?
  5. The paint code I used is FLNA9740-Akzo-Nobel. Is it the correct color? I don't really know. I like it though. You can see the paint in my gallery of pictures.
  6. The HP ratings for the E9 were 400, 440, 450 and 500.
  7. The part number for the base is 14MF44. I checked to see if Mack factory had any and it showed the big 0.
  8. If my memory serves me right the 998 and E9 was the same. HP ratings from 400 to 500 and down under they cranked them higher. The E9 was also in the US Tank fleet. Twin turbos producing around 1000HP.
  9. We also picked up our own trucks till Mack went to equalized freight around 1990. I drove all of them in, in the 80's. It has its pro and cons, but hell I could write a book on that and nobody wants to be bored. So that is that.
  10. I would like to make the Macungie event but I have to find a transport tractor that will run at least 65 or better. I don't want to drive the B at 55 @ 2100rpm's all the way. Might be fun going up, but the trip home is long.
  11. A tag should be on the rh door or if it has original frame rails, check the rh rail directly from the steer axle wheel.
  12. Who remembers 1926. It was 8 yrs after WW1, Calvin Coolidge was President,Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford were movie idols. Here are some pictures of MY 1926 AB serial # 517691. It was originally sold out of the Chicago branch on Tuesday June 25th 1926 to Mike Miller of Cedar Lake, Indiana. Chassis list price was $3,000.00 dollars. BHP @30 @ 1160RPM and maxium speed is @ 30. This truck was originally setup to haul milk from Pectone, Ill. and Schneider, Ind. to the Bowman Dairy at their River Forest plant. This gleaming Mack with its shining brass top radiator had a 4 cylinder with a bore and stroke of 4" x 5". Driveline is through a 4 speed brownie, Midship differential and dual chain drive. There is no front brakes, The handbrake standing 3ft off the floor operated off the rear wheels, while the footbrake clampes down on on driveshaft drum. Inside the wooden framed cab, the steering column rises almost vertically from the floor. you needed to be tough in the arms in those days, the steering gear ratios were pretty direct and power steering was still light years away. To drive, all you have to do(shades of Maxidyne) was to push through the 4 speeds, get her high gear and trundle along @ 30MPH. In 1931 the truck was turned into a wrecker. In 1941 the engine was again changed, this time to a more powerful BG type six cylinder. In 1959 the bulldog was sold to Pure Oil Gas Station in St. John. We bought the truck in 1962 and brought it to Tulsa, Okla. has been here every since. We have re-modeled our parts dept. and the little Mack resides there. Shortly I will make room for the 1959 B61 to sit proudly along side her. Thought some you might like to hear this story and see the pictures.
  13. It is a great transmission. The only problem is you don't have a designated reverse hole. It is operated with a splitter button on the stick. If you are parked close to something you just have to remember what position that button is in or you might run over or back over something. Is the 10M common in a Vision? not really, but what is common in the trucking industry?
  14. We as dealers have to obey the corporate identity that Mack Trucks, Inc. lays out. As for being lazy, I degate that statement and get your butt in here and do the job.
  15. You take a water jacket screw off on the LH side towards the back of the block. It's a big slot for a blade to turn it. Use a drag link slot tool to turn it. Purchase a block heater from the Mack dealer with the threaded type element.
  16. The Lanova was introduced in 1938. During the early thirties both Mercedes-Benz, Cummins and Buda diesel were offered in Mack Trucks.
  17. 88's were econodyne concept, the 90's were maxidynes. 88's used a multi-speed transmission or automatics, the 90's used the standard Mack 5,6,7,8 speeds.
  18. Mounted the cab Wednesday and hung one door. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Getting closer.
  19. Its funny that for the 1st quarter and possible some in the 2nd quarter will be the technology we have today. All manufacturers are trying to build as many engines in 06 so they can sell them in 07 before going to the DPF setup. I'm wondering if Vikner and the other big wigs from Mack would take a pay cut, so that other families working on the line could stay on.
  20. I would only paint once when the truck is completely apart, then assemble. I wouldnt waste time painting half ass and then painting again. I'll bet you will have more money & time doing it twice. All the masking and doing the little things take a huge effort. My 2cents. Go to may gallery and check my cab out.
  21. Who has converted their wet(oil)type air cleaner to dry type in a B Model? If you have what is the part number of the air cleaner your using? I'm lazy today and don't want to do a bunch of investingating. Thanks.
  22. On my restoration, I sent mine back to the Mack Reman. Center and they rebuilt mine and sent it back. You would have to go thru the Mack dealer of your choice.
  23. I sent that seller an email. I told him that it was just an old flap and hanger, not a dealer sign. They still wanted to know if I was interested in purchasing. Can you believe that. Takes all kind to make the world turn.
  24. There is no kit available that I know about thru Mack. You have to by individual parts.
