  1. You guys are funny. Ive used a spray can on smaller things and I did great but im thinking if we try and paint a whole cab it would end badly even if we do one part at a time.
  2. By 3 Grand or more.. Id love to have one like it though..
  3. Rob , I didnt think it would come out anywhere near as good as if you mixed and sprayed it with a gun. Ive been on web sites and web sites looking for tips and things but I wanted a "truck guys" advice before I say anything to him or helping.
  4. I have a friend down the road from me that has a 83' or 82' IH straight truck , he wanted to touch up some paint but that didnt work out to well , so now he is thinking of repainting the cab and bed. Reason I ask is I have used a spay can on parts then a clear coat or two but ive never tried to paint anything that large with a can. What do you guys think? Bad idea or it might work out ok? Its a hobby truck also.
  5. It was the custom dog house cover that made me want it.
  6. Im a Mack 711 fan but not a triplex fan, in a hobby dump truck. In a tractor fine but I wouldnt ever come close to using all those gears empty forever. I like that truck , not a huge B75 fan but id like to own it. Im sure he would be open to a good offer but why part it out. Take a little loss and sell it for the market value , he will have to do even more work parting it out and marketing that if he puts a value to his time and how he list things. Im sure it would sell pretty quick for 6,000 , I know that I wont get what il have in my Mack back out of it someday if ever but I enjoy it and its a hobby. You dont make money in hobbies that often.
  7. Im sure its been posted on here but I thought id make sure we saw that part that he will part it out if he doesnt sell it.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mack-B-75-1958-6-Wheel-Dump-Truck-/290650355002?pt=Commercial_Trucks&hash=item43ac1c753a
  8. Picture on Ebay ?
  9. Ahhh a Cherry Picker. Athern makes Real nice Mack HO scale models of B's and R's and stuff. I have a small feet now myself.
  10. I thought you were going to say he forgot to release the brakes hahahaha , Man you come up with good "true" stories! That made me laugh so damm hard!
  11. Hell yeah I agree with you guys , id love to have a H model too! Maybe that can be my next truck. Overnight would be a cool truck to make.
  12. Id love to run it as a plow truck for a side job!
  13. I always thought the same about tandem axle U models.
  14. Wheres Vinny?, I spot a U ! Sure wish Mack made BIG trucks again!
  15. When my calendar rolls over to next month every time I sit at my desk il be seeing that mixer of yours!
  16. ROB , Wouldnt you just tag the weight for the empty tractor and trailer together + 20k lbs in this guys case? Like 50k lbs total for example and all of that would be on the weight you tag the tractor for? Then again this is all in VA and every state is a bit diff. Pantera, Yes you would be right, would be more than 12k for the tractor plus a extra 2 k just in case if your pulling a trailer with 20k lbs. But in your first question you said " I'm not talking combined " , that would me just a tractor and I gave you my opinion and what I have done , then you said in another part " I will be pilling a trailer " , that would be a combined weight right? Am I right Rob? I honestly thingk I missed something and im not sure.
  17. Your right, its the $3,500 id be spending to have the same truck sit in our garage without even starting to do the work.
  18. You said your not talking about combined weight and you want to know what weight you should put if pulling a trailer?
  19. A couple thousand over the weight as it sits is what I do. Run to a CAT scale, then register it for 1 or 2k more. If your never pulling a trailer no need to pay the extra money they charge for weight.
  20. He;s not willing to deal at all. He told me to bid, il wait and see how it goes. If good il get a guy to haul it. Id have 3,500 into it as it sits though and that worries me alot with the cab like that.
  21. I agree, how can the little man go ut and buy a new truck every year they want to do this. Then the truck builders have to jack up the price to keep up with the laws too. Hell my truck never had seat belts...
  22. Your B 67 looks alot more tough than that one on ebay. I did get in contact with the owner.
  23. With those heavy duty early front and rear axles you guys think it was a MR? I figutred it was a 1950's built truck that just happens to have a front grille area that looks like a MR. Looks likea good job too , looks like they pin stripped alot on it and all. Edit, I typed my reply the same time as Rob. I with you Rob , its way older than a MR. Ive seen the front and rear axles on a L and B model before.
  24. Peta , aaaaaahhh hahahahahahahah, what dumb asses...
  25. Thanks, that really helped explain the oil thing to me! I wasnt sure how all of it worked. Just havent had but 2 trucks ever with working shutters.
