  1. The gap by what you said is a little tighter at the bottom than the top , so im guessing the rear cab mounts hav compressed a little. Its not a big differance by the size of the cab , standing back maybe it looks worse than it is. How hard is that to fix if it comes to it?
  2. Thats pretty cool What a very good read . I had no idea that the Mack brothers left Mack Trucks/International Motor so early in the years and only their name went on.
  3. 10-4 Rob , I figured you or Mark would know for sure. At least I wasnt looking at a broken truck.
  4. Anyone ever notice how some of the older R cabs tilt a little to the back like the air ride ones when not aired up? My first thought was cab mounts are bad in the back but I was told on the truck I was looking at that it never had any rust , etc. and I didnt see any sign of any. Real nice looking 60's R. Is that normal or something more into it?
  5. Im going with the Sprits until I get to the big name and logo , but takes 10 min per 1 1/2 in. letter for the town and name under it. I will put up a picture tomorrow of what im working on. Im sure its clear coated, its a very nice paint job just not my fav. colors. , Jay
  6. Paul , Thank you. The truck has sat indoors for a long time since it was lettered and only taken to 1 or 2 truck shows so the ghost letters I dont think are a big deal. Thanks for the tip on the painters enamel . I figured it was an oil based paint. Mineral Sprits does work after all but it would take me a week with 1,000,000 Q Tips to get it all off and still I dont know if that will be ok and wont damage the paint of the truck. Wet sanding then white compond will bring it the door back to like its suppose to be ?
  7. Whats a good thing to take the hand paint lettering off the door of a truck without hurting the paint behind it? Mineral Spirits dont work on this.
  8. Anyone see the green and red one on ebay , it was in VA, Jay
  9. All you northern guys, that was one of the issues I was thinking was that theres not enough of us around each state and all over the state like car clubs and things.
  10. Shit I want a Dodge and a Brockway now...
  11. Heres the scan. It not great , the ad is in plastic so it wouldnt stay flat against our scanner. Its nice and clear and looks new in person. Anyone else got the other ads? Im curious to see them , Jay
  12. Wife will scan it for me in a few Mark The look like the old KW's , theres one for sale on the ATHS site. I looked it up , KW SCC 925PK30.
  13. I have the ad with the B model. I bought it at the ATHS convention a year or two ago from a guy selling vintage truck ads. I thought that was a "been there done that" ad from Mack
  14. I see local car clubs and things like that alot but I was wondering if theres enough of us out there to meet up. They dont have to be members here but do you guys think theres enough antique truck collectors out there to do things? I was wondering how we can get the word out to guys that dont use the internet or arent BMT users.
  15. Yeah a old Mack B model il bet was a tractor when new, is the name in the grill guard classified?
  16. Do you guys think there are many of us around the US? Like enough to start a local group that meets once or twice a month. I know theres alot more guys it seems up north and il bet you already do things like that. But it seems like maybe a group in MD, NC , SC , VA , GA , etc, etc. can start up and do that type of things. Maybe like a ATHS Chapter. Any of this make sence or am I rambling on.. ha ha , Jay Edit - I see 3 chapters in NC for example on the ATHS web site, but are there shows often or events you guys do in your states?
  17. Heres a few I took. Why not go chrome with the engine.
  18. I like it also , thanks for posting!
  19. Wouldnt that be the US Army Mack line haul made into a transformer?
  20. What make of truck ?
  21. Looked great. Doug good talk for the hobby and Dennis with oldmacks logo on everything ha ha. I cant wait to see pictures from you guys.
  22. Thanks mower man. I understand now. Ive seen them in trucks but I didnt see any holes or anything where one would have been in this U.
  23. I thought so also but I cant find any sign of that either. What did the tachograph have that would be better than the speedo and tach? Ive never asked that before.
  24. I was going ot ask a few weeks ago. I found a "68" U model Mack. It was a tractor now a dump. The horn button says Mason Dixon Truck Lines , 10 speed tranny. In the cab it shows no sign of the truck ever having a speedometer. I have looked all over and cant find a thing. Would this be correct or what am I missing? Thank you
