  1. The frame corrosion is from electrolysis.
  2. I also looked at that aluminum ACAR when Ray had it,came very close to buying it.Pretty sure I posted pics here of it.
  3. Good score .If I was still up there I would of jumped on that one!
  4. Congrats, can't wait to see pics!!!Nothing like a quality "driver restoration" IMO.Post pics before you do anything though, may have a nice patina already!
  5. I had a twin to that but with a 671,wish I kept it!V12 would be a neat hobby truck!
  6. Looks to be fairly solid.
  7. Hey Bull Mack, how's it goin buddy???We haven't heard from you in w while...What's your price range?Let's hear some details on your exciting new business!I know of an old R model with a mighty powerful Scania engine, rusty frame rails and cab full of filler, only $15K!!!Interested???
  8. OMFG....What a damn shame,sorry for your loss!!!
  9. FBHO....that is all
  10. "85 at the newest with tan interior, sharp truck
  11. That's a great rear suspension.
  12. Sweet Brock! What are the specs?
  13. Good idea to replace the steers IMO,cheap insurance to the alternative of a weekend blowout miles from home
  14. Be a friend, talk him out of the idea. He'll thank you later
  15. Hmmm, wonder if you asked Ford guy's if you should consider a Chevy or Dodge(or vice versa) what they'd say???I can only recommend you look for a clean older Mack, there's nothing better for dump work plain and simple...
  16. That's good, know any details on the engine?
  17. Asking about a truck like that here is like walking into the wrong bar, most will just stop and stare .Local guy had a new one near me in the early/mid "00's,real good to his equipment. One day while going through the center of his town the engine literally grenade'd leaving parts and oil all over the road(had very low miles).Other than that I don't know much about them due to lack of interest.
  18. 5th has a very tall OD also correct? They want to put a different trans in,but i'm pretty sure these 7spd trucks have steep rear gears.I plan to take it for a spin one of these days to see how it shifts,i don't think they understand the basic concept how these engine/trans work with their wide power band.
  19. Friend of mine got a job driving a late ''80's R model dump with one.Says he's having trouble getting the hang of it coming from Road Rangers. What's the purpose of them compared to the 6spd?
  20. What a bunch of BS,change is bad...
  21. Even Hooters has gone Paccar .Sweet R and "servers" though .
