  1. Heinz- You say there is not an 11 liter (D-11) anymore for the Volvo. This may mean they are dumping the MP-7 altogether. Since Volvos are basicly highway throw away trucks the D-11 may be able to be dropped before the MP-7. There are a lot of MP-7's in Granites and trash trucks that may need support for a longer period.
  2. More Cummins engine options for the MP-7 may mean the X-12. Popular engine in dumps and roll offs. Can only hope for X-15 down the road for pinnacle along with heavy front axle. I am guessing the new regional haul Anthem will only be axle back. Will see June 25th. While many feel Mack is just a hood on a Volvo there are a few legacy items such as, camel backs, rear axles, Granites, MB's and LE's. It doesn't look like Volvo is going to kick Mack out the door any time soon.
  3. T-Mack1-Do you know if they are going to continue making the axle forward Pinnacle(CHU) in the future. Would be nice to see this offering with big Cummins power to be competitive with the other axle forward manufacturers.
  4. There are plenty of heavy spec tractors from producers other than Mack that don't have sleepers. So why aren't there more heavy spec Granite tractors. Is weight the issue? I can see it for trailer dumps but not lowboys. Maybe they are under powered.
  5. They have a heavy spec Mack tractor. Its called the Granite. But nobody seems to buy them in a tractor configuration. I don't get it.
  6. Southeastern U-700's were probably in line Cummins (Cummins in line 6 was taller than the Mack in line six) Roadway U-700's were Detroit (needed high hood for 60 degree V configuration and supercharger on top of V Banks) St Johnsbury had U-600's with V-903 Cummins(Didn't need high hood because the 903 was non turbocharged and had a 90 degree V configuration which was low profile when compared to the Detroit's) I believe Mason Dixon had some U-600's with Mack powered powered V-8s. I don't think the Mack V-8's needed the high hood Also the U-700's may have had high hoods for bigger radiators. You guys can separate fact from fiction on my conjectures.
  7. A new Mack Anthem is on its way the 25th of June. It is supposed to cater to the regional haul market. From the sneak preview it looks like it has the Volvo cab in place of the Mayflower cab. Lets hope it has an axle forward version if the Pinnacle is dropped.
  8. Turbo charged should be 205HP if factory. Looks in good shape for an old B.
  9. What are the specs on the old buck?
  10. Arute Brute Beauty! Speaking of E.J.Mclure, saw good old ex Rawson Mack RD 600 No. 95, on 395 chugging along slow but sure, doing what its supposed to do hauling a dump load. Rawson see if your KW junks are still working years from now as is this RD.
  11. So sad the way the Europeans and now Chinese are dominating once proud American truck manufacturers. Blame the Congress and spineless Boards of Directors. Profit and greed over long range vision and accountability. Mack a bygone relic of Sweden. Navistar, Freightliner, Detroit Diesel and Western Star German owned. White , Diamond-T, Reo and Sterling killed off by White. Only Autocar, Paccar and Oskosh remain. Elon Musk to the rescue? Not with that Pepsi POS.
  12. Dyne is a unit of force. Mack used this play on force in various ways over the years. Magnadyne ( Magneto as in spark to create a force of their gas engines) Thermodyne (heat as in utilization of heat to produce a force in their diesel engines) Maxidyne ( as in maximizing the force of a dyne in their high torque rise engines) Econodyne (as in economically using force in their later diesel engines MP (Mack Power) is a total Volvo concept applied to Volvo/Mack engines I am guessing this is the logic behind the use of dyne in this manner. Just my take on this.
  13. Lets hope the Senate concurs.
  14. Sorry to hear. I had a mini about 10 years ago. I am sure you looked at the Allison website?
  15. Super nice fleet of Macks! How will you make money with the RD 800's being so heavy and all?
  16. You can get up to 23,000 # fronts on a Granite but they just don't seem to sell much as tractors.
  17. Noticed on the Mack Defense web site that the Titan is still offered as a Heavy Tractor. Probably don't have to meet the BS emissions regs. When is the Pinnacle going to offer a heavy duty front axle? 14.5 K doesn't cut it for a lot of applications.
  18. Bad ass sounding DM! Had the privilege of seeing her work down at the Coast Guard academy a few years back. What are the specs? 285?
  19. If they keep the Anthem I would think they would have to offer an axle forward version like the current Pinnacle. If they don't they will be the only manufacturer without an AF. (Granite excluded)
  20. Good to hear the pinnacle will be on going for a while. Is Volvo dropping the D11 also?
  21. Wow! Nice! Feather the throttle on that HS and get about 2.5 mpg!
  22. I was on the Mack website and I noticed that they took the Mack Bulldog off his high perch and recessed him for more air flow. Come to find out his balls were overheating and the Mack engineers took care of this. This is the latitude that Mack engineers are allowed to have under the Volvo leadership. I will have to admit the Mack lineup is currently pretty impressive. Hopefully the Mack Pinnacle CHU AF will not be on the chopping block.
  23. Anthem looks over Pioneer any day! And don't drop the Pinnacle until you have a suitable ( so called long nose classic) replacement. The current Pinnacle is a good looking truck.
