  1. The only thing that would be more exiting than this is bringing the Aussie Mack line up over here to the US and Canada. Not even being able to get a woody would beat that.🙂
  2. As president Trump ,would say make Mack great again. Bring the Aussie Mack lineup to the US and Canada.☚ī¸
  3. Don't go for the design of those Aus visors but I guess they are practical.
  4. Looks like a Ch axle back with 38's.
  5. 41180: Looks like Acar dealers are scarce as turkey teeth. Could not find anything in Wallingford ct. But did find-O'conner GMC Volvo, Augusta Me., Dario diesel Worcester Ma., Taylor and Loyd Bedford Ma. and Bruno Truck sales Brooklyn NY. Supposedly there are 63 Autocar full line service and sales dealerships.
  6. VW/Scania is awake. Funny how Volvo's boss is ex Scania. Must be something in the water at Volvo headquarters
  7. These vehicles have insane torque. How do the current drive trains handle it.
  8. Acar fans are alive and well. Ya think! Also designed in America, made in America and owned by America. Lets hope the foreign sharks keep their hands off.
  9. Ford built engine?
  10. Meritor is ex Rockwell i believe.
  11. Acar fans are alive and well. Ya think!
  12. 41180: You nailed it on your late 90's comment. Great history lesson on one of the main reasons Mack lost the heavy haul market. Mack did have the 565 horse Cummins in the CL but the Cl with the setback axle was not as appealing (classic look conventional) as the other vendor offerings , plus no Cat options during this period. Good wishes to the new Acar conventional. Hope they can learn from Volvo's mistakes.
  13. KS: Paccar gets there foot in the door with long time Mack users by offering big power in their lowboys and trailer dumps. The straight dumps follow. Granted as you say the KW/Pete dumps with the X12 is a great product. Also Malvo doesn' help them selves with there injector cup issues.
  14. Yes agree square up the grill. Autocar just purchased a one million square foot manufacturing and assembly building in Birmingham Alabama. As far as heavy haul goes I am not sure they have enough bonnet for an x15. We shall see.
  15. Volvo must have the same issues. No? Keep it under 400 HP. No wonder they are out of heavy haul. It sounds like increasing bolt cross section might be the answer provided there is enough head meat to allow this. Selling more injectors/cups/labor vs loss of market share is a no should be a no brainer. It used to be that field testing new products should take about 18 months to correct design defects. May bee Volvo thought it was 18 years.
  16. New Granite heavy haul perhaps? Wish full thinking.
  17. I have been wondering why Autocar has not been building a conventional for years. They have all the things needed, engineering and design, factory, assembly line, vendor suppliers, dealer network and customer base. Plus former Mack users.
  18. A Gateway tri axle Mack Granite passed me on 95. Used to be all Pete fleet.
  19. RIP along with the MP10. Nice shot though.
  20. They also should be showing growth in the construction segment which doesn't seem to be happening either.
  21. May bee Donald Trump and Putin have a sidebar agreement on trade. Russia seems to be outside of the big international trade agreements with the US
  22. I wonder how many old macks are hiding around in garages and back fenced in areas of the big cities. Probably a gold mine out of sight out of mind.
