  1. It has always been true that Mack was a rugged construction truck until maybe lately. The common current thought as Mack tries to get back into the over the road market is that Mack is not thought of as an over the road competitor. But that was not always the case. In the 40's thru the 80's. Mack was a very popular fleet truck. They probably had 20-40 percent at times of market share. L,H,B,R,U and F's were every where. Then along came the 90's with Renault, the close of the Mack west coast operations and the CH and vision and Mack over the road sales stalled. The CH never caught on with Roadway, Overnite and other former fleet operators . It seems as though the CH was kept alive by ABF and UPS. The CH and Vision were never thought of as classic big bore trucks. Thus they lost the west and the mountain states. The CH elite tried and failed to fill the bill. The period of the 90's and 2000's was a further nail in the coffin for Mack.
  2. Grayhair: Actually the poor guy has nothing positive to say about Mack going forward because maybe there is nothing to say. Paccar is kicking Mack's ass in construction and waste removal.
  3. You would be stylin in that RM but a little harder to turn around.
  4. As well as UPS I havn't seen any ABF Anthems either.
  5. Probably saved enough on the Petes to get a couple of extra. Also saw on the internet where Paccar leasing leased their 1000th truck from Paccar. Not necessarily a thousand trucks to LaFarge
  6. Surely a Paccar reject or Burger King upgrade.
  7. Volvo Any interest in putting a bulldog on that beast
  8. KS: Is there a publication that breaks down truck sales by model. and also what fleets bought what.
  9. Guess where the Anthem fenders came from. You got it -axle back CH

  11. I'll bet Daimler would have been successful marketing the Titan.
  12. And they were cheap to repair and overhaul too.
  13. Does this mean that there is a Granite M900 series for civilian/commercial use?
  14. What would have to be altered to put a big bore engine in a Mack pinnacle AF. Are there any glider like companies trying to do this. Seems like the Pinnacle AF dimensions are close to other manufacturers AF conventional trucks. It's easy to see why Pinnacle AB, Granite and Anthem fall short.
  15. Cab looks good except for parts and pieces.🙂
  16. The old style RD hoods are my favorites.🙂
  17. I think I like the old style Pinnacle AF grill. Can you still order them. or do you have to have the hoaky butterfly grill?
  18. Can anybody say END 673 Bosch pump and injectors. Works fine and lasts along time. Still out there running.
