  1. Who are the cab makers that are still in business? TCM, Mayflower?
  2. That picture is a PA produced Mack. If they were evaluating the western F's they may have not followed through because of poor build quality in Hayward (as Mr. Karbel stated about the early Cruiseliners from Hayward). Also if they were evaluating the eastern F models, they may have been to heavy. Since CF was a coast to coast carrier the maxidynes of that era may not have worked well in the western mountains. Then again Detroits and Cummins were offered in the F's of that time. Price and delivery times may have been an issue also. More insight is needed.
  3. I saw a picture on facebook which really floored me. It was a Consolidated Freightways Mack F model 50 in BBC. The caption stated that it probably was from a company that they bought out. It was done up in the later year white paint scheme with the red and green stripes. I wonder what company that might have been from. The only Mack's I ever saw for CF were the CH's from the 90's. I would think that would be a collectable photo.
  4. How did the Cummins compare to the Maxidyne as far as torque. 907 for the Maxidyne
  5. Sounds like a bunch of geese in the cab.
  6. Seems like they could revive this on the MB chassis.
  7. Nothing wrong with a little competition for the big boys and their cookie cutter trucks
  8. Not to pretty but lots of torque.
  9. Same with Connecticut construction trucks. Seems they have gone to sleep.I am sure they are still there somewhere.
  10. bigrig: Dramis still lists Mack and IH on their website along with KW and Western Star
  11. Makes you wonder why Mack doesn't promote the MR into more areas such as mixers dumps etc.
  12. Can't say I blame you Storkmack. Mack and White burned their bridges and Paccar moved in. Pacaar Daimler and IH are all that's left. Volvo kills Mack by keeping them on a tight leash.
  13. T-Line may have the rights to a Diamond Reo look a like. They build a custom truck, Diamond Reo looking Cummins engine Allison & Eaton transmissions & rears, Hendrickson suspensions. They have a web site. T-line Whitman chassis. They build gliders also. Looks like it may be an opportunity to stick an E-7/E9 into a glider.
  14. It appears that Western Star and KW have kicked Mack to the curb heavy and extra heavy haul applications.
  15. Need the down under Mack lineup in the US.
  16. That's the one. Saw a dump set up on U tube like that. Would make a nice heavy haul tractor if Volvo allowed Mack to have a big six or V8.
  17. Anybody ever hear of the Super Granite GU-813. I think they are used in Canada and they have Simard suspension. They have 55 and 65 ton hauling capacity using tri drive and have dual front steering axles.
  18. What are the pros and cons of CNG vs LNG. How high do you have to pressurize the CNG? Does LNG have to be constantly cooled. Seems like LNG would give you much grater range.
  19. When are these liberal yahoos going to pass legislation concerning wild fire pollution.
  20. Not to mention a great torque booster for hills. Looks like IH may be getting some new engine inputs from the Eropeons. What are the Ameirican automotive engineers doing. Not much perhaps?
  21. Looks like Freightliner is kicking Mack to the curb
  22. Thanks Maxi! But they still don't have to make them fall on their face ugly.
