  1. Ah lets see LT cab and B model front end. Now lets try to visualize a ch cab with an R or Superliner front end
  2. According to KS the cruiseliners comming out of Allentown were decent compared to the original west coast varieties. But they were quickly replaced by the MH.
  3. How can you have a competitive product between the divisions if all the vehicles are built on the same platforms. I would think one way to beat this problem would be to offer more vendor options in order to make the product lines more distinct.
  4. Wow in the last ten years we have the Titan and LE. Granite is going on 15 years. Pinnacles 15 years. No wonder there are so many Shakers, Volvos Navistars and Paccars on the road. Mack finds it hard to keep pace with Western Star. I agree with Al bring back an updated R platform.
  5. A little perspective on power plants. One 1000 mega watt nuclear or coal plant if it were replaced by wind power would require 300 plus 100 foot high windmills running non stop 24 hours a day 365 days a year. I am guessing that at most those windmills would run 1/5 of the time. That equates to 1500 100 foot high windmills. May bee we could mount a wind powered beanie on top of Obummer's head and hook him up to the grid. I am not sure what acreage would be required to produce that much power with solar but I guess it would be considerable.
  6. Keith what didn't you like about them. The E-6 350 was chassis mounted air to air
  7. HB Rob. We miss your insights and knowledge. Hope all is well
  8. In another current post it mentions the South Carolina assembly line as being the source of the first R model. I had never heard of this before. How many other plants besides Allentown, Hayward, Macungie, Plainfield and Canada were there? I know there was the South Carolina plant of the 90's and the Volvo Virginia plant. Also there were about seven plants in Allentown. I don't think I ever heard of the history of each plant. I think #7 was the huge one.
  9. Doesn't seem to be one UK truck manufacturer on the list. Take heed USA.
  10. Here is a picture of my white truck. Pretty cool color eh.
  11. This is all part of a Trojan horse plan by the islamists to infiltrate the west, institute sharia law and conquer the country. Wake up liberals and progressives
  12. Why did GM dominate the bus market?
  13. I have always wondered why the B- 70 series trucks never made in roads out west especially the L cab. It seems that the LT was making in roads out west and then the B series came out and bombed out west. It couldn't have been because of the demise of the L cab because it was used later on the C model. Pete and KW cabs were not that roomy at the time. Was it better interiors and the use of lighter components such as aluminum. I think maybee Mack was spread to thin and they couldn't give detailed attention to all areas. At the time they didn't have a factory in the west until Hayward came along.
  14. I am wondering how the moral is at Mack Corporate/Engineering since moving south under Volvo.
  15. Awsome. Did the U model come out before the R model. I remember seeing one in upstate NY in 64/65 time frame.
  16. Nicey Nice. What are the specs on that motor home. I'd like to try one of those. Did you have to lengthen the WB?
  17. What did they do to the MP8 to get 800HP
  18. Who made the first tilt cab.
  19. For there being 13000+ 865's there doesn't seem to be many survivors compared to the E-9. Was the 865 the best of the early V-8"s
  20. As good as a Mack in my opinion. What model A-car was this?
  21. Love the Mack western and the LTL
  22. Great pictures. Love those original cherry pickers. I can't see why those LTL's never caught on more to compete with KW and Pete. May bee they should have kept production of the LTL along with the B. The B was slow to catch on in the west.
  23. This is great. I'll be doing some winter reading.
