  1. Way to send all of the factories overseas Kennedy,Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Busch, Clinton, Busch, Obama, Hillary? Maybe Trump can slow this down. Its doubtful though. Too much money to be made and too many traitors in the mix (Dem and Rhino establishment traitors) IMHO of course.
  2. There were a lot of pictures of LT's in the logging industry. That's likely where the bad rap came from. Poorly speced trucks are the fault of the Engineers and sales people. Paccar probably was delighted when Macks failed. Pacific and Hayes filled the logging gap. Mack and Kenworth both owned Hayes at one time seeing that it was better to buy a proven product rather than re inventing the wheel.
  3. Like you say QA at the factory. Zip ties I guess you can expect that on the newer plastic trucks. There are different grades of zip ties hopefully they use the higher quality ones. I guess the old metal clips with rubber inserts are to time consuming and are not as adaptable.
  4. I read a comment in Wheels of Time about Mack LT's that caught me off guard. He was comparing classic trucks of the time then and now. He thought that the LT Mack was the truck that set the standard for classic truck appearance considering such things as style and placement of exterior components such as air cleaners, batteries, oil coolers, steps etc. What caught me off guard was that while he considered the LT the standard for a classic truck, the trucks reliability was an entirely different issue. He stated that the LT was notoriously unreliable when compared to other West Coast and Mid West trucks. This may have been a biased statement as I read in another issue that west coast truck operators generally stuck with west coast manufacturers and were somewhat unfriendly to there eastern rivals. Maybe some old timers here have some comments on the west coast LT's and B-70's
  5. Saw a Mack Granite tractor with a dump trailer on route 2 today. Couldn't catch the company. Kind of a rare site in Ct. The only other ones 'I've seen are Manaforts Kind of sad. I guess they are too heavy.
  6. There was a Cardi thread on here somewhere. They have some Granites and one Titan along with the older R's. Nice fleet.
  7. The western Macks were my favorite also. Speaking of recycling parts, look at the headlight areas of the G model and H models. Seem to be identical. Also the window area of the F model and the Budd/Ford/N model.
  8. Love that red and black RB. They would look nice as a lowboy
  9. Keep an eye on that BCR there may be some jealousy brewing.
  10. If they made LT's, B- 73-75's, R's and super dogs again. They would still sell. Brockways also. Wishfull thinking
  11. I wonder what they want for that blue weed eater R
  12. Probably only matter of time before micro turbines and electric drive replace diesels. I would think this could be adapted to locomotives also.
  13. Do you think the Mack LE would make a good forward mixer chassis. If so why don't they make them.
  14. White 2000's with the Reo cab. Probably late 60's.
  15. Not a KW fan but those Bullnoses were quite impressive back in the day.
  16. patdbossct-I know you have water trucks. Just for your information Joseph equipment up in New Hampshire has a couple of unique water trucks that look like dump trucks' One is an RB and the other an RD. They are orange and black. 5000gal I believe. Nice concept.
  17. Those are my favorite RD's. Old style hood
  18. I may be stupid. Hm May be? But what is the purpose of that mid frame little plow?
  19. It seems that Mack and International broke the mold in 1953 with their B models and R series IH's. These two models were the first models with non rounded fenders in the front. Both were successful. Seems as though there must have been some industrial espionage going on at the time. I believe that Mack won out due to their popular 673 diesel. Actually IH may have started the R model in 1952
  20. Any chance of a return of the E9 as he was head of engine development at Scania?
  21. Beginning to see the new American Industries Mack Granites on the road. Rt 2 & 395. Very nice.
