  1. Need ASAP....Enough Vinyl Beaded Trim between headlamp bucket and fender to do one side of a customers B model. Watt's has it listed a temporarily discontinued until enough demand is there to reorder as per Tracy. Call me at 412-429-2028(shop) or 412-956-6421(cell)
  2. A green metallic single stage enamel should be sufficent. By its trickier to spray(metallic mottling) than a base coat clear coat system. It depends on how much and how far you going with it. Stop by a local paint supply house with a sample they should be able to match it accordingly. If your trying to match exsisting green that's in a truck, one cavet is that Factory Mack Green changed a few times over the years so tread lightly going by "the book says" because the likelyhood of it matching is slim.
  3. I've never had a problem with anything from grand rock plus the availiblity is very good.
  4. Where's that Cruiseliner located?
  5. I'd go with a clean G model or Cruiseliner....Ya im partial to cabovers!!! Althought a clean RW superliner or RS are classy too...Timeless would go to a clean B Model...
  6. pb blaster, a puller works some times, or using your knees to keep pressure upward a smack with a dead blow will jar them loose. Soak the crap out of the splines. This is how ive removed ones from B's and DM's so I assume an F would be no different
  7. I have a spare 237 in the corner of the garage when my 673 takes its last breath...the maxidyne 237,285,300+ we fine running and pulling engines.
  8. Parts are getting harder to find. They had head gasket and over heating issues in the earlier years but was corrected later on with more head studs per head. Otherwise they weren't the fastest or most powerful but they got the job done and sound good doing so.
  9. I thought it was a G/D but I could be wrong. he has always ran good equipment and maintained them well so which ever it is should work just fine.
  10. Yes its the 76" cab not 90" I actually have a lead on a 76" cab chassis that I would like to get a hold of to place it on someday. It was surely a unique find. I believe it was ordered as a spare for a trucking company and then never used so I guess it would be NOS. I didn't get the full story on it from Matt Pfahl. Its been home since the Macgunie Show and re-lit the fire under my Dad's butt for working on the Cruiseliner. He has the passenger side frame rail off is getting ready for getting the new frame rails ordered up. Btw we're making a single axle into a tandem thanks to the 38k Mack rears from Steve Morse's Superliner he just got back on the road.
  11. @300k miles an in frame was down. The truck has been in dry bulk cement service constantly running to blow off the cement in the tank via the gardner-Denver blower. I am unsure of the amount of hours put on the truck but he said the mileage was at 300k miles when the overhaul was done.

  15. That's why we snatched it up! it was too good to pass on. Were going to switch out the interior with the cruiseliner we have just for that reason. The cab is the smaller sleeper while current cruisliner is the larger sleeper.
  16. Don't crucify me for the sideways pics please! They are correct views on my desktop but when I upload them they switch?

  18. Finally got a new computer and was able to upload some pics of the cruiseliner cab we picked at macgunie. Thanks to everyone willing and able that helped with the storage for the week after the macgunie show. Special thanks to Skip and his Dad at J&E Trucking. They had some great stories and pics from there careers in trucking over the past 50 years! I wish we had some more time to spend at the shop b'sing.

  22. If you want to hear a steam buffs answer to being a railroad owner who gets bought out by a larger railroad check out this website. His name is Jerry Jacobson and his love of trains especially during the "golden era" of steam has lead him to construct a period correct roundhouse and back shop for servicing his private collection of steam locomotives and classic diesel engines... I've been following the construction of the roundhouse through his website for the better part of five years, it's pretty fascinating and cool to watch of time. http://www.ageofsteamroundhouse.com/index.html
  23. The funny thing is the first time I heard my daughter's heart beat at the doctors the first thing that popped into my was the sound of the Pennsylvania K4's lol in fact as soon as we got in the truck to leave a played a sound bit from YouTube for my other half so she would understand where I was coming from!
  24. Big boys always remind me of the 2-6-6-4 of the fallen flag literally in my back yard.... http://www.thepwvhiline.com/PWVsGoldenAgeofSteam/PVW1102_Web.html Sorry I'm posting from my iPad and can't figure out how to upload pics.
  25. The hubs of the B53 dump that came into the shop for the fender repair only have two spots for the valve stem to go between the spokes. It has an outer ring that spans the spokes except in two spots that are 180 degrees apart.
