  1. Pg Adams are good people to deal with. The frame rails I've replaced have been "z" cut and stagged from one side and another. This was for dm tri axle mixers that had 58k rears and were loaded heavy on a regular basis. A fish plate in my opinion is temporary fix for a problem that needs dire attention. 20k for a fix might sound high but think of all the labor that goes into that not to mention the the cost to replace such a truck with a new or used one....
  2. Driveline should be tight along with king pins, no play.
  3. Lake Shasta is the clearest water I've ever seen. We camped there for a weekend when I was visiting my brother and his wife a few years ago!
  4. Not really. There are a few pieces of metal that join there. I usually just back prime and seal up the area when I have the rust cut out.
  5. What maddog said. Split rings and split rims are two different things.
  6. If you just replaced a bad compressor that was pushing a lot of oil chances are it will take sometime for the oil to make it's way out of the entire air system.
  7. Ray, the superliner looks great!
  8. That japanese freightliner "white cabover" looks good too along with the single axle Diamond T cabover with aluminum budd wheels.
  9. Way ahead of it's time! I like the fact they had tubeless tires lol
  10. It sure is I have one in the shop for the very same repair. They actually tend to go on each side.
  11. In a perfect world, Kscarbel I agree with you as most do on the forum, but we don't live in a perfect world. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at this point it's like beating a dead horse. I clicked on this thread to happily see the Coke Trucks because I seen them in the yard next to the Macgunie plant where my Cruiseliner cab was being stored. The owner of the yard's shop is currently being used to add the air dams to these and many other new Macks. The tread has been hijacked by the "Volovo Badddddd Blah blah blah blah blah" argument. Can we just move on.....and not rehash the same topic every few days.....
  12. Just a note about grounds looking ok. I worked on a '07 Chevy C5500 Passanger bus with multi electrical/computer issues that fried computers (ECM and TCM), caused intermittent Check Engine lights, and eventually burned up the alternator. All the grounds looked ok to the naked eye until you unbolted them and realized the through holes were drilled and powder coated before the grounds were installed with the "star" washers only creating the ground when snugged down. Needless to say over the past 6 years some corrosion and rust started on those tiny spots where the washers dug into the powder coat causing a loss in contact. A quick hit with an abrasive disc and some battery terminal spray on the spots made the grounds contact again. All the issues them went away. Just thought I mention a recent experience.
  13. I was thinking the same thing!
  14. Happy 4th of July! God bless the USA and bless our men and women serving or have served this great land!

  16. I drilled and mounted mine on the front rad support with plumbing as you stated.
  17. Sounds like more "militant" members are amongst the rank and file. Not a good sign.
  18. Very nice pics! You stopped and seen the great hidden secrets of america! Glad you had a safe and wonderful/memorable trip!
  19. You should have a quick release for each set of axle
  20. Matt pfahl has a b with dual air cleaners, a newer steering column, sleeper, and longer wheelbase.
  21. Replaced the shifter late this afternoon. I was told expect it at the shop by noon but didn't get it unitl 4pm lol parts guys....got it put back together and it works good. Thanks for the info.
  22. Pretty cool. How hard were the parts to get?
  23. When you say pop out do you mean pop the shifter pops out of the gear and into neutral or the actual shifter falls and hits the passenger seat when shifting to 4th? I'm currently working on a 1997 RD600GK (glider kit) with a 350 2v 8LL and 44k bronze camelback dump. It came in for state semi-annual inspection, jake issue, and shifter coming out of Transmisson. I got the Jakes working, minor adj on the the pump micro switch and throttle return spring, inspected it, then tried to get the shifter to come out. I put 25 miles on it before it did it this am. Luckily I was a 1/4 mi from the shop. I got it to do it again in our yard. It feels like the shift from 3rd to 4th skips out and let's the shifter fall into the passenger seat and bounce around. I double and triple clutched it to get it back into a shift pattern. Am I correct to believe it's the shifter, shift forks, or the ball stops in the top cover?
  24. I've loaded many of dry vans withs Casework and millwork as an apprentice and journeyman cabinetmaker. On E-track systems I've used load bars to lock in the load in the front and back but more so for the sudden stop. On the wooded slat tie downs like you have ratchet straps get looped around and hooked to itself with the d-ring on the strap. On bigger items it wasn't uncommon for us to screw blocking to the floor and secure it by that way. In every case I never had a load shift have damaged products. We once received a partial load of material via a common carrier (us carriers) that had like 5k steel coils "eye" down banded to a pallet over the fift wheel plate. The weight of the of the coil held it down. I've never really seen palletized common freight strapped down. It's always been banded to the pallet or secured to a rack then stopped with a load bar.
  25. Self etch or any etching primer usually doesn't agree with any types of fillers...it's designed for bare metal to "bite" into the metal. Where at in Pittsburgh are you located?
