The conservative handbook indicates to condemn everyone as a liberal even if they only diagree with one there points, My post with the word "racism" was in response to BMT's rules of forumS and WASN'T ment to imply there was any form of racism ever on here but I lumped politics and religion in there with it because you have the same outcome....Fighting... Like my grandfather told us at the dinner table don't talk about politics and religion because we don't need to fight. I am neither conservative or liberal but I agree with a lot of peoples view point on here but also do not agree with point on here. When that happens I simply ignore it and move on. I have been seeing is that the site is getting more and more political when we should be trash talking pete's and volvos lol Again let's not forget this is a truck forum.

"running the rpms up to much when downshifting will do it. over revving."<-----driver abuse or a combo of that and material fatique with many miles or hours. Thats what i was told and taught when I first learned how to drive trucks.

I had a 2004.5 Silverado 2500 LLY with an allison for 5+ years and 98k miles on it. I just sold it last fall. I never had a problem with it at all. It was stock with a MPRP exhaust on it which gave it a little more response and sounded good. I pulled a couple Cat skid steers, bob cats, and my yale 5k cap forklift from michigan in a snow storm that i followed back across the ohio pike into pittsburgh with no problem at all. Anything I threw at it it took. I pulled a 38k and 58k mack rears plus the rolling chassis of a couple parts trucks when I was doing my B with it as well. When the Allison was in trailer mode thats when it really performed. I work with a guy who bought an 09' 3500 dually silverado and has about 50k miles on it with no problems. I driven 1 ton 5.9 and 6.7 cummins dodge and they pretty good too. We have 3-2004 E-350 box vans at work and man they are gutless. I call them powerpukes. They are constantly in for injectors, turbos, and erg cleanings. To each his own but If i had the funds I would def have another Duramax or cummins 3500. I currently have a 2006 Silverado 3500 with a 6.0l gas job that can't get out of its own way nor pull my trailer empty. The only reason why I sold the truck is so I could start building a garage....

"take the procedure method pump engine motor off the program, take the location deal with off the location of the pump engine motor and let it dip in a tub of kerosene for a several several weeks. then i usually take a big screwdrive and put it in the soars in the location of the pump engine motor and position the twist drivers down with a form. usually you can get the plungers divided up and going. i also designed a device to proceed the procedure method pump engine motor to make sure they are all going. Can you retrofit power steering to a B61?
220cummins replied to Armywrench's topic in Driveline and Suspension
You have a few options. First you can look for generator mounted power steering pump setup that came factory on some B models. I sold one a few years ago for about $1200. That was everything you would need for power steering. You can look around for a for a vickers pump setup from an r model that I believe runs off the back of the compressor then retrofit with parts like the drag link and pitman arm. You can also look around for an air-assist power unit from Air-O-Matic. I have one on mine that came off another B model that works great. Parts are availible and I know they put these units on M-35 Military trucks. -

I am looking for the "Cruiseliner" emblem below the doors at the step as you get in the cab. Its looks like its made out of pot metal. I'm missing one and would like to replace both with better ones if possible. Its a 1982 Cruiseliner.

what the hell is this? -
Exactly my point entirely enough with the finger pointing because everyone is equally as guilty. We know the problems we just need a solution and it's gonna hurt everyone but one has to die on either side and by die I mean it as a metaphor.

Forced membership? Nothing is forced. If you don't pay your dues for all the benefits of representation then you suspend out and have to look for another job or pay to be reinstated. My dues are 15 dollars a month, that’s a tiny bit of money for a lot of benefits. I have the choice between which funds I can contribute to such as training fund, work procurement fund, and a PAC Fund. That’s less than your average person’s dinner bill at a restaurant. In a right to work state you don't have to pay that 15 dollars a month but the union has to represent you at their cost. Someone has to pay for it and eventually the union will slowly die. There is no bail out for pension fund as Fox Business reported. The legislation presented is not a “bail out” it separates out the employees of defunct firms and guarantees part of their benefits for retirees. The defunct firm’s non-contributions way down the otherwise solvent plans. The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation is not funded by general tax revenues it is funded by the sponsors of defined benefit plans. It has been around since 1974 and has paid benefits to retirees who have lost there pensions due to corporate raidings, bankruptcy decisions, bad investments (Bernie Madoff scheme). Recently the pension funds have had to carry a certain percentage of solvencies. They are a categorized by risk and regulated to make the proper changes to make the funds solvent again. This has all come about approximately when PBO took office. Unfit teachers... Yes there are unfit teachers not all are. Who defines them as unfit? You? Maybe one or two school board members who have a grudge because there little girl didn't make the cheerleading squad and the coach just happens to be this "unfit" teacher. Teachers have tenure. “Tenure is a form of job security for teachers who have successfully completed a probationary period. Its primary purpose is to protect competent teachers from arbitrary no renewal of contract for reasons unrelated to the educational process -- personal beliefs, personality conflicts with administrators or school board members.” Administrators like this one in the link- http://philadelphia....arge-race-bias/. You won't see that on fox news though because union was doing its job. Just like you won’t find any mention USW fighting against the use of lead and cadmium in kids toys and the use of Chinese steel and fabricators on the Oakland bay Bridge and the cost over runs derived from them….But you will hear snippets of Jimmy Hoffa's quote as reported as a terrorist against fellow Americans. Here’s the full quote "Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!" Initially it was reported this way by Fox but leave it to the un-BIASED people over there to backpedal against there own initial report and put a spin on it to boast rating and enrage tea partiers alike. The reality you speak of is not such when you have twist the facts to win ratings and push a certain political agenda. “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be can only be maintained only for such time as the state can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the state to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the moral enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the state” – Joseph Goebbels Nazi Propaganda Chief. Used in the context of Fox News it sums up a lot of there thinking and marketing. You can’t change perception of people who follow this kind of rhetoric. The rhetoric unions have preached about the shrinking of the middle class, shrinking of the manufacturing sector, and poverty rising is becoming fact…. Card check has been around since the inception of NLRB in 1935 and it’s been recognized along with secret ballot vote many times throughout history as a way to recognize a union. So my small investment of 15 dollars a month for dues to protect my rewards for my hard work is well worth it and I’m more than willing to pay for it.

That quote is taken out of context because it’s in reply to Rob's point. You probably would be thrown in jail just like the drafts used to be if you would revolt against a said law of mandatory military service. In the context of comparing non-right to work states if you don’t want to pay a miniscule amount in dues to have representation and a CBA then find else work for the same pay and benefits but that is very few and far. Right to work for less…That’s the bottom-line. I can't speak for others unions. I know how I work and how my particular union brothers and sisters work and it’s far from the situations you describe. I know from experience in Delphi plants how the UAW operated a few years ago and guess what those plants are gone. I had a conversation at one plant with one individual who said "they can't close us, were the most productive plant" my reply was “let me tell you something yes they can yes they will and I know this because it happened to steelworkers with that attitude.’ Bad work ethic and attitude gets you no where union or non-union. The point is unions still have a place today. They protect the safety of workers and provide a fair wage and benefits for members. We work without the old time safeguard of seniority. If you don’t work you get laid off. Unions or at least the local ones I can personally speak of, also protect the signatory contractors yes that’s right the companies, through a trust set up for bidding purposes. We work hand in hand with the understanding that hard work delivers fair wages and good benefits for our companies and families. I would rather pay my union for that support. Right to work states kill unions plain and simple. The union still has to be a representation for that non-member (not paying dues) working in a union facility or site. Who pays for the ENTITLEMENT there? The union. When that money runs out the union goes away. That’s what business wants because that affects the bottom-line. Low wages no benefits and 1099 classification. To me that cuts out the middle class. Everyone is entitled to they’re own opinion but unless you see the other end of the argument then you can't say it’s either this or that. I'm not blind to what happened in years past and it's changed or is continualy changing. I've also seen non-union shops I worked non-union. Let me tell you I've worked just as hard if not harder in the union and got rewarded better. I may be in the minority but times have changed and yes there is a place for unions in today's economy and yes it’s for the better. As I’ve stated in the past it’s hard to change the old ways and opinions of people towards yesterday’s unions.

no offense taken Like I said I personally wouldn't have a problem with military service but I know others would because of the freedom to do otherwise and it being a contradiction to less goverment intervention and regulation to daily lives of citizens. I think a lot of people would be able to benefit from military experience like you did. I just think a forced system people would cause people to rebell just do to the fact that it is forced. "The greatest gift we can pass to our next generations is the promise of a bright and prosperous future. " I agree fully with this statement. We've gotten ourselves into this mess and we have to get ourselves out. But bickering and fighting and saying this group is at fault ie unions or that group is at fault is not going to solve the problem. Think about this, even if no unions or unionism existed would manufacturing be leaving this country and looking for less labor cost intensive solutions? The only thing that matters to multi-nation corperations is the bottomline. Unions or no unions we as a country are the forerunner in the "developed world" meaning we've come from generations of farmers and peasants full bore to be at the heart of a good quality life. Developed means money and higher wages. My opinion of the matter is based off what unions have been preaching for years "cheaper isn't always better" because "imports do kill jobs". If you ever get a chance read the book "And the Wolf Finally Came" its about the collapse of the steel industry in the 70's and 80's but being particlally centered around the aurthors hometown of McKeesport a suburb of Pittsburgh. The paralells of what is going on today in the us and what happened in steel industry are quite clear. I've always heard since I was a kid about these now national issues of jobs and manufacturing leaving the country. Pittsburgh and our region along with our unions have gotten through it. So being at the forefront and recovery of pittsburgh's economy let me tell you it's not easy and tough decisions have to be made that will effect everyone it will only work when everyone is working together to get through it. EVERONE is at fault. The road to recovery should have a spot in for manufacturing. Buying american made goods puts money on american workers period.

I have to raise the question of this statement as being contradicting. By forcing someone to serve in the military when they become of age whether or not they're is a conflict like WWII going on is it being contradicting about less goverment and less regulation? With that being said as a younger guy on this forum I would serve proudly if duty called like generations did before me. I have not served in the military but explored the possiblity a few years ago. A family freind (An active Marine Colonel in charge of marine deployement logistics) talked me out of it and said theyre are just as important careers cilivian side for someone of my skill and abilities who didn't want to make a career of it. But as I said before i would gladly and willing serve if a conflict would arise. I have a lot of good buddies that served proudly in the army, marines and air force in iraq and afghanistan during the wars on terror. The other point i would like to make is that I am a proud union member and local union officer/secretary. Growing up in Pittsburgh in the shadow of the big steel has had an impact on me and a lot of other younger union members I know. I know for a fact that the members I work with and WORK FOR are hard working honest peope trying to make ends meet just like a lot of people on this forum. They are not lazy and smart enough to hit the reset button on theyre machines. I've run work for crews in a shop and my machine operators reset/maintained/operated our equipment on our own. The point I'm trying to make is that living in Pittsburgh and seeing what transpired because of the UNIONS AND COMPANIES NOT working together taught a lot of people a lesson. Trying to shed the old image of a the lazy entitlesd union member is a hard one. I can not speak for other unions but as for mine I am proud of the fact that I'm part of it because we are on the cutting edge of technology and productivity. The training and professionalism is bar-non compared to non-union counterparts. They is a big thing going on in pittsburgh with the medical facilities and infact the largest healthcare provider in our region came to our union and asked for our help in solving life and death problems in there facilites. I can't get into specifics because it is yet to be announced by them but it has to do with our professionalism and training. Tb part of that takes change in aditiudes and the unions have changed for the better. Members have changed. The opinion of a lot of non members hasn't and that's the difficult part. We learned in Pittsburgh years ago you have to embrace change or lose you job, nothing is garaunteed.... we ALL have to work together becuase if the company is not making money thrn I as a union member and employee is not making money.... I'll get off my soapbox.
