  1. If I were to buy a truck it would be a pre-emissions Mack (All Models), Peterbilt-359/379 variants, and then a Kenworth. I'd steer clear of freightliners. They are throwaways and really made cheap. Some of the older Internationals are ok but the new ones with the MaxxForce are always in for service. I service all of the above and can tell you Macks, even new, are well built. The Pete 379's and 389 are pretty well built and simple. The Kenworths are in my opinion about a step down from a Pete. They all have their quirks but it seems less with the brands and stated above.
  2. Nice! That R model has been sitting in at on 837 for quite sometime. Atleast 6-8 years that I can remember. There is usually a MH there too.
  3. go further west and it's yinzer! Yep I seen both the governor and dryer be the problem.
  4. Multiple issues could be at hand. Start at the tank. Is it new and clean fuel? Is there rust that broke up during the trip in the bottom of the tank and causing a blockage at the pickup tube? Are the fuel filters new and tight? Are there any loose fittings on the pump or injection lines? Could be in the pump too just from sitting.
  5. thanks everyone that served or serves. I couldn't sit here and type this if it wasn't for your sacrifice.
  6. I got a free copy of the exact brochure from the mack museum when we were there the year before last. They had a stack of them. You might be able to get one from them as well if you want a physical copy.
  7. That is really nothing.
  8. Interesting, the waste heat recovery system looks like a real wonder to troubleshoot. I wonder how the aluminum drums would function in a real world app. Aluminum is a heat sink. I also wonder why disc brakes weren't chosen.
  9. I am about 45 mins away from derry,pa
  10. Listing this for a friend. Used complete cab and doors from a late 80's-90's RD? In good shape minimal surface rust. I think it came from a glider kit. Hood is also available. Call Kenny 412-475-6274. Make offer.
  11. They all have been on there for quite sometime. The MH has been on there for at least 2 years.
  12. A customer of mine had a 94 3500 dodge dump break in half with a load on. The truck was only like a year and half old. Needless to say dodge paid for a lot when it was all said and done.
  13. im here but painting a fire truck at the moment lol
  14. Rob went ballistic. What happened to Olivertroad?
  15. Glad to hear things are getting back on track
  16. Thanks guys!
  17. Thanks everyone so far so good mom, baby, and big sister are doing well.
  18. Renz Patrick born 5:26pm 9lbs 8oz 20" long. We came up with his name from my grandmothers and my wife's grandfathers yearbook for the early 1940's (they both went to the same high school). His big sister is super excited
  19. You are correct. I've been told but never seen it in person that a N14 intake can be used in place of the after cooler on the side of engine which is one reason I'm wondering about the chassis mount charge air cooler. The other reason is for doing a swap/conversion, since I have cheap access to a red top n14 and a series 60 Detroit DDEC3. There is a local place and one in Arizona that makes up any engine harness to match the truck. Either case I want to have a chassis mount charge air cooler.
  20. I'm kicking around some ideas for our '82 cruiseliner. I thinking about possibly putting in another newer and bigger motor or doing something with the CPL and other things on the big cam 300 cummins. I was wondering if anyone knew of a part number or source for a chassis mounted charge air cooler. I've believe they were offered when built but haven't seen them in person.
  21. When you do replace it try to adjust the pipe itself for clearance or dent it in a little if that doesn't work.
  22. that pic was taken the same day i posted it. In fact there were Mack Drivers pulling in with a few more not pictured with the tags on the windshield from Macgunie.
  23. I can say this I know of two local guys that had their Ox-body angled gates modified to a straight gate. The reason being because you can have a three way gate or barn door hinges with a angled gate.
  24. Stopped by trans-edge (old Pittsburgh Mack)and saw the lot filled with new trucks for Pitt-Ohio.
