FA536 FA537 FA538 or FA538C

drop the jack shaft out engage the power divider take the truck for a run ,that will narrow down where the problem is. i'm having to do the same thing myself ,vibration at 50 mph goes away at 60 mph ,it's giving me the tom tits

green dash the coding in the states is different to what we have here in oz example ch cl we have chr clr they are based on the r model chassis then we have the ch which is the later chassis, the f model are called the f r 700 here it uses a r model chassis, our super liner also uses the r model chassis as does the mh [early ones]

NO ,it would break the rails by having two different load points ,I'd use 75x75 x6/8 shs instead of 75x50x6 as I have used. two air bags are all you need I would use 4 shocks. should only take you 2 days to fabricate. re. the 700 just started rebuilding the 10 speed and then be starting on 1241 aux,verrrry slooooowly getting there

the number is STAMPED lh side near the fill plug NOT CAST the ten speed has two cases the 12 speed has three not counting the bell housing the direct box will have 1070 d the o/d box will have 1070 o stamped, it has a p number ie p3 which means it has been updated so the higher the p number later the gearbox is

trdl and trtxl were still fitted here in oz until 89. update info direct boxes stopped being fitted 1979 everything after that were o/d until 92

paul mate more than one, did my apprenticeship in a panel shop in the territory repairing these old girls so I know these pretty intimately plus doing rerails by myself. I have a new cowl and header panel sitting here in the shed ready for the next r797 rsx ex Gascoyne trader that my friend is restoring .if you need more info on how to do it give me a cooee and i'll talk you through it steve

ok paul the cowl panel is in two parts ,there is the inner panel and a outter if the outside one is rusted you can be sure the inner is rooted as well ,the drip rails can only be fitted when replacing the roof panel as they are sandwiched between the roof and header and cant rails [front and side] .fyi you'll find 198 spotwelds in the roof. steve

Paul there was few that came into the country with the scoop ,but they found that the small air filter for the tip turbine clogged up in no time in our outback conditions that's why we use the 16" Donaldson filters here in oz. same with the dual unit air filters that the yanks use on their coolies. a good friend of mine did his apprenticeship for company that owned the r700s ,he remembers they were sourced from the states because they were on 24" tyre /rim combo and they were a wide track, MTA couldn't /wouldn't supply them .when he comes back Monday from nz i'll ask him for more info steve
