  1. timmyb, the original draft rsrt was a minumin rate was set so no undercutting of rates was applied to all transport operators and all payments were made within 28 days not 120+ days that big operators are doing presently, then tony abbott got into power he invited mong fox, toll ,ceva etc to the table, well we can see the out come of that now

  2. ten studs on a r model WTF are you thinking Timmy !!!!!!. mate this oz we run spider wheels NOT those poofy wheels ,leave them for Volvo and kenworth steering wheel attendants. 9" off sets if you have to have ten studs, knock your steering arms out off the stub axles flip left to right so your steering arms face up not down, we used to do that trick to stop the track rod being bent in boggy ground .what front axle have you got? FA536 FA537 FA538 or FA538C

  3. paul mate more than one, did my apprenticeship in a panel shop in the territory repairing these old girls so I know these pretty intimately plus doing rerails by myself. I have a new cowl and header panel sitting here in the shed ready for the next r797 rsx ex Gascoyne trader that my friend is restoring .if you need more info on how to do it give me a cooee and i'll talk you through it steve

  4. ok paul the cowl panel is in two parts ,there is the inner panel and a outter if the outside one is rusted you can be sure the inner is rooted as well ,the drip rails can only be fitted when replacing the roof panel as they are sandwiched between the roof and header and cant rails [front and side] .fyi you'll find 198 spotwelds in the roof. steve

  5. Paul there was few that came into the country with the scoop ,but they found that the small air filter for the tip turbine clogged up in no time in our outback conditions that's why we use the 16" Donaldson filters here in oz. same with the dual unit air filters that the yanks use on their coolies. a good friend of mine did his apprenticeship for company that owned the r700s ,he remembers they were sourced from the states because they were on 24" tyre /rim combo and they were a wide track, MTA couldn't /wouldn't supply them .when he comes back Monday from nz i'll ask him for more info steve
