    Sounds like an Earth Issue to me. get a Multimeter & see the earth wire has a Short in It.. Maybe disconnect/remove existing earth wire & run a new one..!

    In February 2020 Dean Bestwick The Vice president of Sales & Marketing of Mack Australia took on a Big role with Mack in North America. https://www.truckandbus.net.au/bestwick-set-to-head-stateside-as-mack-looks-for-a-new-boss-downunder/ If he's given the same sort of Autonomy he had here in Australia expect big changes & some Australianized Features on New Macks..!! You might have to wait for the Virus express to Leave & some normality return first though..

    They worked out Pretty Good.. They were BIG power in there Day.. Only thing was you HAD to idle them down properly or they'd grab a Piston.. Most owner Drivers used to carry a Spare Barrell Piston & head with them all Loaded up. they had access hatchs to the Crank & you could change a Barrell ect. over in 20(or so) minutes I've been Told..

    Is the Transmission end of the Cable rounded off or still has the Drive pin On It.. Also is there a Ratio Adapter something Like this on the Transmission?? they can & will fail..

    I think She'd be Barely Legal.. Otherdog.. Those old 300's were a good Motor. Dad had one in a F700. It got a bit Tired so he put a 351 in It. . All he gained was the V8 Burble.. Didn't seem to Go all that much Harder...

The Country I've spent the last 56 (plus) Years growing up In, & My Family has many generations of Living here .Bears No resemblance to the Nazi Germany i learnt about at School & still Hear & read about.. None... Media Organizations the World Over are absolute Experts at Cherry picking, & Selective editing things to suit Any Narrative they Want..!! Don't believe everything the Press Tells You.....

    I found the Pic on an Australian heavy haul page.. I think It was an Internal site transfer on a Mining Lease. They mentioned that; the Gross Weight was 670 metric Tonnes.. I've NFI on your manhour Question.. Sorry.

    I've Broken Most Things, But Never an Axle..💥 Most Common Way to remove them I know is to; Slide a bit of Polythene or PVC pipe/Tube in over the Broken Bit & get your stick welder with a bit of heavy Wire or Light Rod & stick It to the Broken Bit & pull out.. or a Strong magnet on a Rod or a broom handle & pull It Out through the PVC/ Poly... @Mark T We're Talking about 44,000 LB Mack axles Not Braking.. Not Axles in general..
