  1. Hi all, A big time advance notice for the above show! Calling all vintage truck owners in Australia: the Golden Oldies Truck Club are holding their 3rd Truck and Tractor Show at the Dubbo Showground on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of August, 2010.... setup is on the Friday prior. A handy place for old truck owners to put their trucks if they are heading up to the Alice for the 2010 Reunion! This year sees a handy addition to the variety of vehicles and tractors on offer: any breed of stationary engine is invited along! For further info, visit the Golden Oldies Truck Club by clicking on the link or calling Ed Eminson on 0419405491 or me by replying to this! Joe
  2. Barry, If ya wanna ping me ya email address via PM, I can send a couple of images - a couple of Aussie B-Models and a Aussie SuperLiner MkII! Attached is one of my favourite B-Models, the B-615! Joe
  3. Whoever has said the front end (grille) looks like a KB-Series is dead-set right - the LoneStar 's design team went back to the days of the KB for the grille! There's also a new HD edition - will find link to it when I get home! Joe
  4. Here's my favourite non-Mack truck - again, the most popular truck make in this thread.... this is "Bruiser", a 1975 Brockway F761TL and he calls my home town, Dubbo, NSW, Australia home!
  5. Bullheaded, That mate of your's wouldn't be Rick Hayman, would it??? If so, he did a bloody mootzer of a job on him - he named him "Transtarasaurus Rex"! And what a suitable name! Joe
  6. Hi all, Sorry for not blogging often - the Flinty's been put on the backburner for now! I'm currently in negotiations with a friend of mine who knows a farmer who has a 1964 Magirus Deutz Jupiter 195/200 with a aircooled V8 engine in it - I'll get the later on but I want the Magirus first! It's been a long held dream to get a air-cooled Deutz truck - now the opportunity has arisen! Then it's into the restoration! Cab, mudguards, fuel and air tanks and bonnet and grille off - sodablast them then off to the panelbeaters... engine, front axle, gearbox and diff off the chassis rails.... sodablast the chassis rails then they're off to the panelbeaters too! Then time to put the truck back together! To save time and stress, I will be putting each item's nuts and bolts into a correctly labelled container so not to lose anything! I hope this is okay to post here as it is not an American truck - in fact, I will say that this is a German truck to save time and confusion! Thanks for reading, Joe
  7. If they still had the smokin' V8 and air start under the bonnet of our Titan, mopar, I'd be in heaven! I remember driving past a 610 horsepower V8 Titan one afternoon after I had finished work and that sound went through the floor of me old man's ute (pick-up truck to you fellows) and up through me feet - man, I felt good for ages afterwards! Joe PS: You can dream - I would love to see Australia's Titan in the New Breed!
  8. Orange52Mack, Photo there is clear enough for me - of course ya can! Joe
  9. Orange52Mack, I'd like to see your LTL - have you any photos or a garage for it here??? As for the Titan with a Cummins, I'm gonna keep me fingers crossed for yas in the hope that Mack America will fit a Cummins engine into your Titan! Joe
  10. Thad, The Bigfoot is staying in Australia - that truck is the Mack version of the Kenworth C510/540 down under! Joe
  11. Doug, Is there much difference between the H-61 and H-67??? The H-67 is what I need! I have attached a photo of the truck for ya to see! Joe
  12. Doug, Do you have the spec sheet for the "Cherry Picker"??? I need the specs to complete a page on one from Australia on my website! Joe
  13. Thaddeus, I believe the Euro test for the cabs is the ECE 29R test! Joe
  14. G'day Ossablt, Try http://www.oldmacksrus.com/ - owned by two of the most knowledgeable blokes in the Mack game, Dallas Fabian of Mangrove Mountain, NSW Australia and Tom Gannaway of Vinton, OH, USA! Joe
  15. hotdog, You fellas over there get the best engine, the Mack MP10 - the best engine!! We get Cummins engines only in our Titan! Joe
  16. Guten tag Ralf, Thanks for correcting me - it was an Italian mag the pic came from so I assumed they would have been there! I was surprised when I saw your post telling me they were in Iran! Joe

For those who aren't familiar with Australia, where Barry took this photo is the eastern end of the Nullarbor Plain - nothing for almost 2000km, not even a tree! The word "Nullarbor" is a Aboriginal word for "no trees", hence the writing on the bottom of the sign! Joe
  18. Hi Mark, Just after some ideas of where I might need to begin to look for the parts or kits mentioned above - I haven't got the truck yet because it is on a friend's property at the moment! I need somewhere close to town where I can send someone in for the stuff and are able to get the truck pulled apart and not have it everywhere! The people who have it can help me lift the cab and bonnet off with their big Ekebol-bodied underlift tow truck because it can be used as a crane too! Labour is the easiest part - I have a rellie who is a mechanic and he has contacts for all the repair work - fuel system is easy too as we have a good diesel shop in Dubbo - where I am - and the guys who run the shop are really good and knowledgeable! Joe
  19. Well, let's stay on the topic of engines! Why don't we repower our trucks with 's very popular and famous Econodyne engine??? Man, saw a magnificent R772RSX ValueLiner the other week which belongs to one of the popular soil yards in Dubbo! Mated to the T2090 9 speed gearbox, the Econodyne would have been the best engine bar none! For those who don't know what the R772RSX looks like, go to: http://www.macktrucks.com.au/index.cfm?Men...mp;ImageID=1194 Joe
  20. McOZ, If I were to do the 12V71 Detroit Diesel re-heart, I would not use the 71, I'd go the whole hog and chuck a 92 in! This is off topic but I have read a article in Truckin' Life last year... the truck also appears on this year's Kenworth calendar.... who put a 12V92 Detroit into his Kenworth hauling rocks and sand all up the east coast of Australia! Even went as far as putting KW1292 on the number plates! Joe
  21. Hi all, Please don't forget who provided with their V8 engines!!! Scania did! Joe
  22. Plus a heavy vehicle first: power assisted rack-and-pinion steering!
  23. Freightrain, That isn't junkmandan of DetroitDiesel Yahoo! Newsgroup fame now, is it??? Joe
  24. I was wondering if I should try the local Mack dealer, Hi-Torque Truck Spares, first???
