  1. I recently pulled the wheels on my MH... One wheel brake lining looked brand new compared to the others. That particular brake was not even working. Turned out to be a seized slack adjuster.
  2. Anybody on here know anything about Smith Horse Transport?!? LOL
  3. IDK, maybe you also used the free bridge at Belvidere, NJ. OK for small vehicles with an 8 ton weight limit, and about 15 feet wide.
  4. I live 5 miles from the Portland bridge. It was built in 1952-53, and just in time. The Portland covered bridge washed away in the flood of 1955. There is a pedestrian bridge today where the historic covered bridge used to be.
  5. It's Banga, Maine and BANGOR, Pennsylvania.
  6. We used vegetable oil in clay dirt, slide right out, no smell.
  7. Doing the same on my MH, likely will pull the drive hubs apart this weekend. I've been using CR seals for years, with good results. Best for a shade tree mechanic such as me, because no special tools required.
  8. It's called affirmative action.
  9. They get hired just because they're a minority or woman. Just sayin'.
  10. Mostly you can do it because your welding to a steel stud and it will not stick to the cast around it. And the different rates of expansion allow it to thread out rather easily after Heating. If your welding skills are not that good, best to take it to a professional welder.
  11. Best option. The heat from welding will help break loose the stud and then you have a nut to work with a wrench. Done it many times with exhaust manifold bolts.
  12. Tru-bal.com
  13. The sleeves for drive and trailer are actually a tool used for wheel installation. They do not stay mounted on the hub. Keep them in your toolbox and use them over and over on any truck you're working on.
  14. Especially on older units, where mating parts may be worn and allow movement. The steer axle sleeves make a difference in ride and tire wear for sure.
  15. With American assistance.
  16. The centering tabs on my CX were deteriorated enough to where the steer wheels would not hold center. TRU-BALANCE saved me from buying new hubs.
  17. I have used TRU-BALANCE in the past, and would not be without it on any hub Pilots.
  18. Second Saturday each month. So next would be Feb. 11, I believe.
  19. Stemco makes a seal with a metal wear ring included, for most applications. This gives you a new wear surface every time you replace the seal. The sleeve is installed at the same time as the seal, with the seal installation tool. Saved me many times with a worn spindle when no other seal would work.
  20. Only started on repairing the damage of the past 20 years. Amazing summation on your part of a president who has a track record of oh ... Let's see now... 4 DAYS!?!
  21. Ron, have I got a deal for you! I'll give you an even $700 for yours!

    EPA

Laws of the US? Or arbitrary REGULATIONS put forth by a beaurocratic agency? Not voted on by Congress or the citizens of the USA.
  23. Maybe you should be President... You seem to be the smartest in the room.
  24. I had one of the Super 10 top2 in my CX. Had it set up so the auto split only works when cruise control engaged. That way you can hold 9th gear if you need to. I liked it, but Brocky you're right it was slow splitting... Had to be patient like driving a Mack 5 speed lol. Never had trouble with the transmission. I know where that truck is and it is somewhere around 2 million miles by now.
  25. I expect it from the 4-wheelers!
