  1. Seen that axle arrangement upstate NY a lot. Don't ask me to explain their weight laws but I know guys that run a standard tri-axle in PA 73,280 gvw get busted down to 58,000 gvw if they cross into NY
  2. Price I saw in the first post $14,000 OBO... Good deal looks like to me... I would make a move if I weren't so heavily invested in my MH already Gregg
  3. Probably caused by global warming.
  4. OK nobody's asking, so I will... WHY WAS THIS TRUCK TAKEN APART??? WTF???
  5. Make a donation to the Mack museum, along with a request for your VIN number, and you will get a very nice literature package including service manuals specific to your truck.
  6. I'd rather have this than a Chinese dongfeng.
  7. My F with 4.25 axle and 20 inch rubber will run 64 mph. Duplex direct. I think your speedo is off.
  8. Not much different than our current domestic offerings.
  9. I thought same as a freightliner cascadia. Only with Cummins engine.
  10. I may have to agree with you... I saw Willard Good driving his around Denver PA yesterday. His LTL has always been one of my favorites.
  11. I'm not sure about this... Does using your blinker also expend fluid? Meaning, can I save money by NOT using my blinker so much? No wonder my boss is always griping about money! Volvo car haulers with all LED lighting is expensive with full synthetic fluid an we use the 4-ways A LOT
  12. Good looking truck, and welcome to the site! Also good luck with the new business. Lots of collective Mack knowledge here at BMT to help you keep that V8 working for you. Learn as much as you can about the E9, it is a good engine if you pay attention to it, and BMT can be a good resource for parts, as spares are becoming harder to find and more $$$.
  13. Nice! Glad the B model tanks were retained, they have the correct period look. With the later chassis and running gear no reason this truck can't go to work every day!
  14. Mack's recommended practice is to heat the hub in an oven. The steel and aluminum expand differently, allowing removal of the races. If you're quick, you can install the new races before the hub cools. Best to use your shop oven for this though... Stinking up the wife's kitchen with gear oil is not necessarily a popular option.
  15. Interesting craftsmanship, not my style, but not my truck either. Each to his own. I don't know how those rear fenders work with a camelback, no room for articulation.
  16. Doesn't look too bad... I've seen a lot worse starting points for a project.
  17. Joe, a lot of these Scania trucks are still in operation around Newark, I see a few every time I go to the port.
  18. The flipper valve in the dash is just on/off. The limiting is accomplished at the splitter mounted near the steer axle.
  19. You could probably use the flipper valve for the wet road dry road, and keep your dash looking original. Previous owner added Maxi's to my F model and used a TR-1 flipper valve to match the other dash controls. When I am outside later I will post a picture.
  20. Larry, got the same trouble when I built my new engine for the F. Pegs the oil pressure gauge now. U freaked out when I first started it up, but Mack guys say the ESI E6's get up to 120 PSI. So I'm just looking for a 150 PSI gauge. Mine idles hot around 60 pegs the gauge above 1500 RPM.
  21. Awesome!!! I am a car hauler I would love to know the circumstances... Were those '56 Chevy's brand new when that rig was parked?!? Great find!
  22. WOW my boss will have a nervous breakdown first Sterling now he's stuck with 50 Volvo's LOL
  23. Could be that 24.5 floats are not available...
  24. Love all the pics but that is a U not an R. Even more interesting.
  25. Hope your knee is better soon, Mike. I was off work 3 weeks last year when that split rim jumped out and bit me, and I'm sure you know the sittin around doing nothing is worse than the pain. Enough about that, though. About the MH 4x4... Looks like a UPS unit judging by the mirrors. UPS also whitewashes most of their equipment before it is sold or scrapped. Do you know if all these MH 6122s were built for UPS, or were there others? Gregg
