  1. Nice rig! Definitely worth the wait for the pics lol
  2. I don't know why you would want to cut a dynatard down in half. Not much braking power to begin with. If I want more, usually I hold my hat out the window.
  3. Welcome, Jim. No dumb questions here, only dopey answers. For someone new to Macks, it seems you have done your homework on the truck you own. Sounds like a great setup, but we need pictures to make a fair assessment. We like pictures. Gregg
  4. Welcome to the forum, Eric. Some Mack dealers will be able to get the rods for you. As far as I know, the end bushings are not replaceable, just do the complete rod. TransEdge Mack in Allentown and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania have always been helpful with parts for older Macks, some other dealers should be too, if the parts guys are worth their salt. Seems we should have pictures of a '79 RD in order to welcome you properly into the family... Gregg
  5. My doctor told me to cut down on my drinking, so I switched from rum & coke to rum & DIET coke...
  6. David I like that your FC has the upgraded ventilation system with 3-speed ceiling fan [emoji12]
  7. Saw a Hellcat Wrangler at the dealer in Altoona a few months ago, thought it was an aftermarket experiment. List price $149,000. Mommy would need a pretty good job to afford that, because I ain't putting out that much! My 4-cyl Wrangler plows snow just fine. In low range 150hp is plenty without tearing anything up.
  8. I did have them lit... Wish I had a pic, but that truck is gone. Most every truck I have some low red lighting on the floor. Cuts down on glare while driving at night
  9. I put all my good vents in the front face of the A/C unit, then put the lamps in the sides.
  10. Here's a couple miscellaneous trucks sent to me by a friend of mine, driven by him early in his career. Thought you guys would enjoy. I like the old school hand lettering going on there.
  11. I had a couple missing and a 2" marker lamp with rubber grommet fills the hole nicely.
  12. Especially if you "gouge on it" in low gears and brag about driveline damage. Not the type of driving to preserve a classic. And I know a Dale Francis rebuild is not inexpensive.
  13. The rubber insulator deteriorates and/or balancing fluid leaks out over time. Always replace at least at every engine overhaul.
  14. That's no way to keep your water cold
  15. Don't know how to determine good or bad but always recommended to replace every 500,000 miles
  16. You forgot "BA-BA BOOEY"
  17. Here's one that always amused me. Our convoy stopped at IHOP on the way home from Maple Grove Diesel Nats. When you see it... LOL Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  18. However would you transport such a beast?!? Permit cost prohibitive for a hobby... Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  19. A lot of dumpers use that as back hauls for scrap going in to the steel mills. I never had tie downs in the bed for coils, I needed my trailer to be weatherproof for other products, and tie downs in the floor creates a moisture path.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  20. All according to the customer. Good to hear you can give them the service they need. I used to use my 102" dump trailer w/3-way gate for skidded loads... 16 pallets fit nicely on the floor. A few customers were thrown at first until they got to know me and my trailer. Other than a difference in dock height, worked pretty smooth most places.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  21. I was just wondering could you use the Conestoga in place of the van on the first trip, to avoid the extra labor.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  22. AZ, when you get everything home and organized, let us know if you want to sell any spare parts. Off the top of my head, I know I need air tanks, a decent bumper, and a complete grill. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  23. Got another MH guy here... First truck I owned was a V8, traded it away for a new CX in 2000, last truck I had on the road was a V8 Super liner. Been driving somebody else's truck for last 4 years, but looking forward to getting this MH on the road. Nothing fancy, E6 350, 10spd RR, on Neway. Just right for a single owner-operator. Had 2 V8s, don't really want another, only due to cost and availability of parts. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  24. Tom, call me ignorant but why all the reloading of coils? Why not pick them up with the Conestoga in the first place? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  25. Here's a GMC I've seen in Rockville MD behind the GMC garage when I deliver cars there. Looks like an interesting project. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
