  1. Glad you made the trip to and from safely, Bob. All the time we spend on the road makes you think how bad it can turn in a split second. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  2. Take note of the set of doubles at the front of the wreck. This happened this morning on I-78 near frystown, PA. Multiple fatalities reported. Seems FedEx is never too far from trouble. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  3. This winter has been an odd one. 65 F on Christmas, then one big storm at the end of January 2 ft of snow, now below 0 F for a few days, the forecast is for 46 F and rain by Tuesday. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  4. Just did the math, Vlad. 0 F equals -18 Celsius. We are expecting -25 F Wind chills tonight in Pennsylvania.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  5. Used to drive a single axle R tow truck that was plumbed this way. Trolley valve applied the drive axle brakes.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  6. I had similar experience with my E-tech 427. Put a cam in after 700,000, did rods& mains once, and a set of heads. I put 1.3 million on that truck and it is still going with the third owner must be over 1.5 million by now. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  7. Quite common sight on the PA Turnpike anymore nowadays. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  8. UAW president Dennis Williams asks GM: "How much profit do you need to make?" I would ask the same of the UAW. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  9. I can't comprehend how Jay Z and Beyonce ( and President Obama ) can preach about lack of opportunity for black people or any sort of injustice in the U.S.A. Perhaps all three should spend their time and money and breath in the less fortunate communities that could directly benefit, like Detroit or Chicago or Compton.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  10. Marko is good, done business with them for years. They built a complete metal radiator for my CX to replace the OEM plastic. They also make regular rounds with their truck in the Philly area, so they will pick up your core and bring it back to you. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  11. The 3 pillars of the Mack legend.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. I used to get in trouble for straight pipes in NJ, because they couldn't bust me for smoke lol ( I had an air switch under the seat to turn the puff limiter on & off) . M y turbo had the MUFFLING DEVICE tag on it, got a noise ticket, went to court and the judge threw it out.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. Mack means a lot to many people... Read in KS2 post in the early 70's, 20% of trucks on the road were Macks. Unfortunately in today's corporate economy, nostalgia and loyalty to a Brand mean very little. It's all about $$$. Bottom line sell to the masses.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. I agree Vlad. Ride height and pressure are 2 different things. Ride height is what you can adjust on a leveling valve, not pressure. Even with two valves, the pressure on both sides will be similar. Ride height can be adjusted side to side with two valves to compensate for crown in the road. I don't see much need for it anymore unless you run a lot of two lane roads. Maybe WS 721 can elaborate on his experience. I remember working on the dual valves, but I was just a young buck starting out. I have had drivers ask me to adjust ride height in order to achieve a smoother ride, but try to explain to a truck driver that ride height has nothing to do with Comfort. It does not change the pressure in the bags. All it does is change your driveshaft angle.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

  16. Sadly, A lot of fleets have gone this way. You don't see a lot of colors or complex paint stripes. Estes good example, also look at Roadway, just plain dark blue. A lot of fleets don't plan on keeping their equipment long term, and plain colors make them easier to resell. Also innitial cost is a factor. A friend of mine drives for A Duie Pyle. A few years ago when they started buying Volvo tractors instead of Mack, they did away with their signature black fenders and go with solid orange now. The boss told him it costs $1,000 extra per tractor to get black fenders. That's a lot of scratch when you're buying 1000 units.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  17. Carly Fiorina came in 5th out of 7 in the Iowa caucus, yet she is excluded from the debate?!? I would like to see her go one on one with Hillary Cunton. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  18. The MH has an air cab, also. But only one leveling valve on the axles. I recall the dual valves were tough to calibrate, for changing road conditions. Set it up for crown on a 2 lane, then the truck leans on a flat interstate. And no fun when a valve malfunctions, could topple the rig [emoji44] Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  19. The beam may flex a bit like a spring, but it is main purpose to support the airbag. The airbag supports the load.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  20. All my years around trucks, Neway seems to have the best ride quality. More maintenance with bushings, and some with 2 leveling valves. My newest MH is Neway, can't wait to drive it. Never had a cabover with air ride. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  21. Trump is an economic candidate, he is a businessman who got pissed off enough to run for office when the government is hitting him in the wallet. I also don't begrudge the so called "1%", because they are the ones that provide jobs for the rest of us, for those who choose to work. Trickle down economics 101, if Donald Trump does well, chances are, most of the rest of us will do well. The older I get, the less I trust career politicians. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  22. So if it's quick and powered and automatic, why do I see so many inconsiderate dump truck drivers going down the road loaded with the tarp open?!? Lazy bastards. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  23. Try a car hauler in NYC... talk about pucker factor until you learn your way around... And the fact that New York marks most bridges a foot lower than actual. I have stopped in the road to measure bridges with my height stick. Better than topping a $40,000 automobile. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  24. I'm just a dumb truck driver... I try not to get involved in the politics of the truck industry. Yes I know Mack is not the truck it used to be, but neither are any of the other brands. New trucks in general basically suck no matter what you buy. I own two old Macks, I don't think I would buy any truck newer than model year 2000. My current job I Drive a 2015 Volvo and its a decent truck. The new Macks and Volvos are no worse than any other plastic POS you can buy nowadays Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  25. Key word BAILOUT... just accept it for what it is... If Renault and subsequently Volvo didn't see value and INVEST in the Mack name, The Bulldog brand would have been gone already. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
