  1. Nothing lame about it... Love to hear some.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  2. The right side of the road is where most of the potholes are, and also most of your salt spray and corrosion. So Parts usually wear out quicker on the right side of the truck. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  3. I heard a song by Dave Dudley about the Maxidyne cool power. It was included in the evil Knievel video at the Mack museum. I have searched for this song or any information about it and have come up empty. I would like to hear the entire song. I'm sure Zenon had something to do with the marketing on that one. 4. I would start with the springs on the steer axle since you have almost a million miles and claim they are original. A lot of CXs had two leave front springs, which in my opinion were not sturdy enough to start with. There are three leaf upgrade kits for the front springs. Any good spring shop should be able to help you out with that. Also, over the course of my ownership, I replaced the entire front cab mounts on my CX. There are bushings that wear out, but the mounting brackets themselves also rust and rot. You may have a cab mount on the right side that is collapsing. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  5. Some new artists haven't forgotten about us truckers out on the road... One of my new favorites is "Long White Line" by Sturgill Simpson. Check it out. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  6. If you are getting 6.5 with a CAT, you should be able to do as good or better with the Mack. The 4.17s will pull good, but may affect MPGs. The CAT most likely has faster axles. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  7. Why tap with a mallet? Is that a float type sensor? I thought it odd that the sensor is in the bottom of the tank. Usually on the side halfway up... I am not near the truck, back home waiting for the shop to call.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  8. C' mon, Randy calm down... It's all about me! Didn't you know that?!?Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  9. This is exactly how the same old same old liberals continue to be elected. I agree, David. To heck with voter ID, show your tax return to determine eligibility to vote.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  10. Go with the older, simpler E7, IMHO. If I may relate my experience this evening, it may help you decide... First time in the 3 years I have worked for Brothers Auto Transport, I decided to go to work on a Sunday evening, just to get a head start on the short week, and help out, since we are so busy. Leave the house, 20 minutes to the yard, pop the hood, check the fluids, fire up the VOLVO, got a check engine light for "COOLANT CRITICALLY LOW". OK, pop the hood AGAIN, coolant right to level in the tank, mess with the sensor plug & wire in the rain & muddy yard, can't figure it out, not really my job. Long story short, no mechanic until 4am, so I am back home until they figure it out in the morning. I can't go to work, and lose 1 load this week because of an electronic faulty sensor. Not happy. With issues like this, plus the new logbook mandate, I am more confident than ever moving forward with my 30 year old MH E7. Technology sucks lol. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  11. Rain and 65 degrees most of the weekend here in eastern PA, but 3 1/2 days off and same next weekend. Quality home time with family and friends is what it's about. My daughters skating... We had to go to the ice rink to find our winter weather. Gregg Happy Holidays Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. Check oil levels in transmission and rears. Drove a truck home 60 miles with no oil in the rear. Made it 55 miles lol Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. Setting them off with ether can also do damage to the tire itself. Broken belts will cause a shake/out of round or possible failure down the road.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. I might be interested but could not get the link to work. A moving van would look just right behind my single axle F.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks, too for putting up your website. I do enjoy the cabovers. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  16. Saw this big Mack truck in Baltimore waiting to be exported. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  17. My 30 year old truck is worth more to me now than it was just two weeks ago.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  18. Good that you have a plan, Rowdy. But it sounds like you will be making less money, too. That is my problem with E-logs, it will cost me 1 or 2 loads per week. The guys that only want to work 10-12 hours a day love E-logs, because the boss can't force them to do any more than that. I am out away from home 5 days, and I try to maximize my available time and income, 13-14 hours a day. I don't get paid by the hour to sit in a hotel room. Now I am even more determined to get my '85 MH up and running within the next 2 years if not sooner. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  19. It would probably be more cost effective to keep mental patients in a facility, rather than the current system of self-diagnosis, self-medication, and a monthly government check to pay for it all. I'm talking about otherwise able-bodied folks who choose to take SSI (MY TAX DOLLARS) rather than take a job to support themselves. I deal with 2 people like this in my personal life, and both know how I feel. OK, so if you really are mentally ill, we have a nice padded room for you, OR you can work for your benefit. Faced with that choice, I bet we would see many miraculous recoveries. .02 Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk It's not really about cost effectiveness, nearly half the population takes some sort of government benefit, not including social security retirees. It IS all about control. A person dependent on government can also be controlled by government.
  20. My local independent auto parts store lets me browse his hoses and belts when I am trying to cobble something together. He knows part numbers and computer inventory don't do any good for what I am working on. He understands customer service, and consequently he earns my business. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  21. Any of you guys within spitting distance of Trans Edge Mack in Allentown PA need to call Randy Z. Second shift parts man for your older Mack parts. He has been extremely helpful to me over the years. The guy is like an encyclopedia... Has access to a lot of discontinued parts, and knows what will interchange also. 22. Hamel is the name on the door, so that makes sense.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  23. Most of the people that buy a one ton diesel Cummins or powerstroke don't even need that much truck. It's nice to have a half ton option, and the price of diesel and gas is close enough now to make it worth while you save money on the increased fuel economy.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  24. Ram beat them to market now they are merely responding to competition.Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  25. I would check the wire to each cylinder head sounds like maybe one didn't get plugged in or a loose plug Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
