I had this issue with my 2000 CX. Check the main air outlet line, the braided stainless steel line from compressor to air dryer. Over time, any oil in the line will bake and eventually plug the line. This due to its proximity to the engine exhaust pipe. The compressor can't pump through the blockage, overheats, and will ultimately fail. Gregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

I'm with Vlad on this one...interesting truck. I'm not sure that's a 1986, though. Looks more like a Super liner 1. Pre- 1983 that may be the correct engine. And the best way to repair the rear window would be to install a 60" MERCURY. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Its a liability issue... one 4 Wheeler or even another semi runs into the back of a parked truck on the right of way and the lawsuits fly that's why all of a sudden it becomes an issue. we should park all the lawyers at the bottom of the ocean that would be a good startGregg Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Do you have a muffler on the truck now? I would think 2 stacks of larger diameter would tone it down compared to a single 4 inch pipe. seems like when I was a kid almost every E6 Mack had a single 4 inch straight pipe on itSent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Speaking from experience, that stretch of I-77 has a severe shortage of truck parking. Next time the trooper chases you off the ramp, ask him to escort you to an appropriate parking area, then you can both ride around in circles all night. I must have tried every truck stop along NC I-77 during many trips to Charlotte, most nights do a loop around the lot, no empty spots, grab a coffee and keep on truckin' and toss the logbook out the window. Why has Ford dropped out of this market in North America?!? Full size trucks and big diesels are more than most people need or can afford. Smaller pick-up options have always been popular, especially when fuel prices are high. I am impressed that Ford took a giant leap of faith investing in the all-aluminum F-150, but still no diesel option, and no smaller trucks. A friend of mine recently sought and purchased an '07 Sport Trac (amazingly similar to the new Aussie Ranger) and another friend is currently seeking to replace his tired '95 Ranger with another similar newer version. I had this issue with an E9. About a gallon every 3,000 miles. Switch to Mobil Delvac and consumption problem went away.Gregg

My employer began installing these cameras last year, then backed off. Got a bit of resistance from current drivers, and I imagine it would be more difficult to hire new drivers. He's got his hands full already with several new trucks sitting idle. We need at least 20 drivers right now, unless he fired a few more this week. Gregg
