  1. Hitting an bridge is cardinal sin #1 at Brothers Auto Transport. Means you didn't stick your load or you're on the wrong road.Gregg
  2. I'm so glad all these car hauler fails are not Brothers blue trucks lol. We have had our share of oops, thoughGregg
  3. Back in my former life of dump truckin', I delivered many a load of railroad track materials down deep in WV. (We delivered tie plates & spikes in bulk, track & ties came by flatbed.) Many jobsites were so far out, the foreman would tell you on the phone " just meet me at so-and-so store or gas station, because you'll never find us and your phone ain't gonna work down here"Gregg
  4. Previous owner of my MH had a slick set up. Air switch under the seat to turn the puff limiter on/off. Back when NJ was checking smoke pretty hard. Gregg
  5. I would sell both for $1500 and we can talk about delivery if you don't live too far out. Came out of an F-785 1970. I drove it home 4 years ago pulled the engine about a year ago. Gregg
  6. Looks like Mack 3- leaf "soft ride" camelback. Had the same on my 85 MHGregg
  7. If you've been to Bangor high school you were a stone's throw from my house I live about a mile up from five points. depending on the age group, they might have had events downtown at the Beehive community center or down by Martins Creek at the old Centerville school.I always have time to stop and site see in hellertown, I can never seem to get passed exit 67 without a traffic jam lol I 78 is almost as bad as route 22 anymore! Gregg
  8. One needs to practice caution and up most decorum while wrestling in downtown Bangor in order to avoid accusations of harassment. The young men already have their pants halfway down and the wimmin folk generally go to market with pajamas and fuzzy slippers. Tough to put a hold on anyone without appearing inappropriate.Gregg
  9. Ding! Ding! Ding! The light bulb finally going on?!? Truckers are paid by the miles but regulated by the clock. Simple solution pay drivers for every hour they spend in the truck. Driving, loading, unloading, sitting in traffic, etc.
  10. We got a nice break today up to 40 degrees in Bangor, PA after 6 more inches of snow last night. Forecast for below zero again by Monday morning, though. Gotta put my under armour on again tomorrow[emoji107]
  11. the kids get a kick out of this pic of me... Took them sledding at the school that day. It is my daughter's hat but dad might need it for sub-zero car hauling Gregg
  12. Seems Mack is ahead of the curve on this one... Integrated driveline for like the past 100 years. I do recall Mack lost market share 20-30 years ago in the highway sector because customers wanted varied components. Whats old is new again lol Gregg
  13. Probably right on that... Been awhile since I heard some of those old songs. Used to be a 2-hour show on SiriusXM Road Dog channel just trucking songs. Wish they would bring that back.Gregg
  14. That might be me if I don't get my duplex out for a ride soon...
  15. Not quite an old timer yet, Joe but I know the song... Pinball Blues by Coleman Wilson I believe.Gallipolis is just across the river from Point Pleasant, WV. Everybody knows that. Gregg
  16. I'd rather be working on my truck than pushing snow around it. Ready for spring! Plowing with my mini-dog wrangler My spare parts are under there somewhere...
  17. Its too cold for the criminals in NYC right now!
  18. Many fleets nowadays want o/o's to have newer "more reliable" trucks. This policy says more about the quality of operator than about the truck itself. Fewer and fewer operators are capable mechanically to keep a truck up & running after the warranty runs out. Requiring newer equipment gives the company an opportunity to enter into a lease purchase agreement that ALWAYS works in the operators favor... IMHO if the truck can pass a federal DOT inspection it shows that you as an operator are capable of maintaining your truck. That is all a company should need to know. Gregg
  19. The new mayor appears to be a nanny who wants to be everyone's mommy... But pay attention PA residents it seems we recently elected a governor of the same ilk. So far he has halted new gas drilling and placed a moratorium on our death penalty Gregg
  20. Exactly... Maybe it would be more cost effective to teach cyclists to steer clear of trash trucks and ban pedestrians from wearing ear buds and texting while walking... It is an old idea called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITYGregg
  21. The physical activity definitely helps, Bulldog man. That's the part about my job that I enjoy the most. Moving around the truck loading and unloading cars plus the walking involved to fetch cars keeps me in shape and I've lost 30 pounds since I started this job 3 years ago I feel better than I did 25 years ago. But after four stops on Long Island yesterday that automatic sure feels nice coming back across the Cross Bronx Expressway makes for an easy ride home after a long day.Gregg
  22. Me and my F model are jealous... We both need a garage
  23. Cool... I do have a 237/ 5-speed looking for a home. If the cab is not too far gone
  24. Mike, Is that F an old North Penn truck? Emeryville Bill drove one back in the day 1977. Gregg
  25. I drive an I-shift Volvo for work and enjoy the ride all day. I too am wondering how it can handle the torque with a single countershaft. Best I can figure is with integrated drive line and computer control, torque can be limited and applied virtually eliminating shock load. Brothers Auto Transport has mostly standardized on the I-shift due to the fact that DRIVERS (or should I say NON-DRIVERS) create most clutch/transmission failures. Just my 2 cents Gregg
