I don't think hard headed or disgust. I'd say some one who nows that mack is gone. To the degree that Volvo has come in and said we will save the name but you are going to use all are hardware. And that's why mack is gone theres no joint development like Renault. It the Volvo way or no way. But I stand to be corrected.

This old Autocar passed me in Hartford Ct. Bad pics for a nice truck. Then I got to go to a job site and while waiting for my chance to back down I look over and what do I see. A heavy haul CL from daily transport. Then I got to back down to the dam. Gilboa NY. Got a counter weight. That was tues. morn then it started to snow so when it stopped at 4 pm they say well we will load you tomarrow and that created a lot of problems for me for the rest of the week. Didn't get many photos cause for the next two day I averaged 2100 miles in 48 hrs. Don't do the math I doesn't work. This was done buy a professional driver on a closed road course. Loaded that counter weight to Carlise Pa then loaded a fuel tank in Mt union Pa for Boston Ma. Then loaded a container with machine parts for Lexington Oh for 7 am fri morning. Un loaded the container then took it to Cincinnati. Then took a nap Did get to see a few trucks. A superliner pulling a dozer in Ct. And a cabover KW with some custom headlight. And a R in MA.

So I read that one economy oriented customer is averaging 7.7 mpg with a 6cyl. That makes me fill better i ran mine for a couple runs and averaged 6.7 to 6.9 mpg. I have an overdrive article on the MH from the 80s ill try to find it.

Yes in direct you're not spinning the counter shafts, that's why they run direct on a dyno. I would prefer a 13. Or 18spd closer gear setting so you hit a hill just spilt the gear and your on top of your power. As for grade ability if your running on mild grades 90% of the time the the fuel savings will out way down shifting in the hills. 100.000 miles at 6.5 mpg 15,384 gal. And at 3.80 per gal. That's 58.459 dollars 100.000. 7.5 mpg 13.333. 3.80. 50.666 So that 8 thousand a year. Plus fuel taxes are going up so what little you can save I would do. Sorry about the rant.

Yes, both were from Jamaica or some place close. Like I said when he started backing up I knew he was in the wrong place for what he was fixen to do. So while walking half way across the lot I know he starts to back up to back in a spot on his driver side, he starts to cut under the trailer, but I know already he's to close to my side, all I could do was stand in the middle of the lot and watch him back into my truck. I could understand if there were some other trucks to back around but he just wanted to back in to my truck It was a trainer and his student. They tried to talk there way out of it. It was not happening it don't look like much but they destroyed all the bracing behind the bumper and cracked the hood. So now I have a claims no. Mack 18 will shift harder then the fuller. Mack trans much stronger, 3 counter shafts as to 2.

I understand yet you would think there's a way to trick the computer. That filter things a challenge. I've been looking at 2007 and older cause you could change the eng and just do what you have to. 08s and newer will always have a filter and the computer systems are harder to fool. My opp.
