    Speaking of the intake under the cab doors my 'L' has that on both sides, I have a short section of 21/2 so the driver could hook to the hydrant by himself ,neat idea.they are gated of course.

  6. electronic ignition by petroncis is simple to install ,you have to know if you have a negative or positive ground system on your Mack, most had positive systems. let us know what the problem with stalling out is.

  10. just saw a news blip on the Fire/Rescue site said fire started near the shoreline (charging cord into a truck).
  11. looks like the mack didn't get damaged thank GOD ,I saw the video of the fire ,looked like a lot of damage , but I'm sure you fellows will pull together and rebuild and improve your station.

  15. Anyone know about a Mack 475 turbo with 5 speed manual (its in a ' 75 R model fire truck) where they a good engine ,reliable ,fuel economy, etc?

  17. the orginal Roto Rays rotated much slower than the new verisons ,my fire dept .has one on the new ladder tower ,was a $22OO.OPTION and they do get the driving public Attension. Also back before even the Roto Ray lights ,their was the Exhaust whistle ( a device placed in the exhaust pipe before the muffler ) I have one on my 54LS85 MACK and it really screams when operated.

  21. I have a 54 Mack with the 707 gas engine ,I was told to use 15w40 motor oil ,should it be detergent or non-detergent oil type? thanks

    Is your B gas or diesel? air brake?
