  1. bump according to my build sheet the number on the engine is not the same as the one that it should have come with, on the injector drive mount of the block, I guess that would indicate that its not the same engine.
  2. I have a end 673-77-60 serial number stamped in the block in front of the injector pump drive. I was wondering what this number means...? I cant find the other engine tag, I may not be looking nthe right place, help? Arctic
  3. it does have the 20spd quad box so, Ill find out for sure once it gets apart, I wonder who to talk to about getting a longer input shaft if I need one.?
  4. Thats a good Idea to get with a machinist, and build one. And as for is it aftercooled, Yes, but its the type that bolts on to the head just like the Older 855 cummins, they all had there own aftercoolers, so does this, so no worries of how to aftercool it, that makes this install no nice. so long as I can get a flywheel, pressure plate,,, I wonder tho, if there is aflat flywheel instead of the Pot type that are common for the dual clutch setups.... hmmmm Ill have to get to looking for one of those. Im sure they made one, that should simplify things if I can get one of those then just use a Mack clutch disk,, err I hope will have to get one and see I guess. Ill check around with the local machine shop and see what they can do for me.. Thank you. Robert. Ill keep ya all updated. it migh take some time tho,Im starting to build my new shop.
  5. I know the input shafts are different between the dual and single disc clutch. Thus is why i am wanting to find a single disc plate for my single clutch if not then will have to find something else. what do you think, any other ideas?
  6. Hey Rob Thanx for the timely reply, I was wondering then If I was able to get a different Flywheel that would work with the single disk?? I guess thats somthing Im gonnna have to do more searching on to see about finding one. I know these L-10 are really popular, lots of parts,,,etc. but I wonder if I could just need to find the Push type cluch pressure plate, then couldnt I just use the single disk??.. I phisically picked this engine cause of its basic size, almost that of the Thermo. But that leads me to wonder about the other trucks, the b73's etc that have the 855 block cummins in them,? guess there just that much older than these. Ive gotta think some one has done this... Robert
  7. HI all, has anyone Heard of Or know Anyone that has installed a Cummins L10 engine in Place of the thermodyne diesel.. Also does anyone know if the Quadraplex 20spd, Will bolt up to the Cummins bell housing Or what to get to make this work. I wanna Upgrde to a newer engine that is easyier to get parts for Here. I understand that I will have to refit all mounts and linkages etc etc.. I wanna get beyond that part and see if this thing is doable with my current set up. Thank you Regards Robert....
  8. yeah Rob eating some words at this point wouldnt be a bad idea, maybe even a lil lovin on momma wouldnt hurt as to what ya got sitten there on that truck frame rail... Or the next time youll have a box with a picture of the parts that Could be in there iffin ya dont (yer nuts). LOL
  9. ?? you mean to tell me there are Other trucks being built?? wow,, I had No idea thought Mack was the only true truck there was... Arctic/

  14. Hey Mike Thant I'll give them a try, I'm thinking that I might just order the kit for the Converted maxidyne that I found and just reuse the pistons put the piston rings from the kit on mine and try that if I can't find the right kit also thought about finding some maxidyne rods with the two inch wrist pins that will solve my problem I think Robert
  15. Hey guys who or where do I go for rebuild kits for the END 673, mine is not turboed. my serial number is END673 224-96 ? I can find the kits for the engines with the 2" wrist pin (piston pin) but nothing for the smaller Pin engines. mine is 1.62" Part numer 182GC 1335 A..? At least thats what my book says, havent tore it apart yet to know forsure. Ill prolly have to I guess... anyways I thought I found the kit once but now I find that its only with the 2" pin. so Now Im lost.... Robert.
  16. Thats right it is a TRQ72 as it says in my build sheet. so 55 is it Ive done some other figuring but thats what I come out with to9Thanx to those that pointes me in the right direction, and thats with 1100x24.5 tires. cause the 1100x20 is the same height right? 43.3 or so inches in dia. thats what it says it came with 1100x20s. when I bought it has 1000x20s so there going bye bye anyways, in favor of new Budd disk steels with new tubless highway traction radials. anyways thank you for all your guys input well taken and appreciated.. Robert
  17. your a genius.. keep the geekyness coming, thank you for the help. Im sure that the 55 is good enough at least I know it will do that much all day long and never miss a beat,
  18. Well there not as strong as I was Hoping. but that'll do. there 5.77 ratios, and far as the tranny, it says Its DIRECT in 5th Direct, but in 5th Hi-split its .85 final. so guessing its an overdrive tranny.
  19. Hey guys got my info from Mack and was wondering how to decifer the gvw rating of the rear axles, I know the front is 12000 lbs, its a FA522 but Im not sure on the rears.. they are,, SWD57's...?? whats the rating on them also there ratios are 5.77 and according to my booklet information on my build sheet, the lo-lo 1st gear ratio is get this!! 18.96!!?? theres some stump pullin gears in this thing LOL my 5th hi-split is .85 guess that would be the overdrive..?it has the Quadraplex.. just wondering how to tell what the final drive gearing would be and about what speed it should have at engine gov, 2100...or cruising ,,round here thats 60mph. with 1100x20 tires. thankx guys I know someone will be able to help me out or where to look. thanks Robert.
