R.E.D. where did you find the j-1939 cable? My mack dealer says it's part of the whole dash harness which is hard to believe, its separate but plastic tied with the harness. I don't see why you can't purchase it separately -
I've got a 2000 same model and engine same problem all resistance checks out what did you find was your problem
