Windshield rubber

We tend to like pictures of anything on these trucks, I know plenty of us have posted pictures of our truck in many pieces... -

It’s crazy how the tech these days can make cleaning up a roll over such a breeze! -
Dog takes a square one to the chin.... :-(

Atleast the driver is alright, you can replace a truck but a life is quite a bit harder to file and insurance claim and get a brand new one of... -
Just today this picture was taken, after this rocket landed on that barge in the middle of the Atlantic it came back to port and now will be brought back tot he launch pad to gain a payload and fly again, maybe even later this month! The finer details are equally as cool like using this behemoth of a crane, which will also be rigged with winches to fold up the landing legs. Just something cool I figured I’d share!

Considering most fire companies in MD are volunteer until you get to the bigger cities, I’m not so sure the qualifications to be a firefighter in the state are exactly high... believe me I know an example of a guy threatening to shoot another guy for having a little confederate flag sticker on the rear window of his truck... Maryland isn’t exactly the brightest state in the union...

These guys seem like they've got a good cause here, figured I'd spread the word. They just want a firetruck to take kids who are a little closer to death's door than most of us older kids-at-heart out around town. I'd love to see them get something with a big cab but clearly they're looking for anything. I wish them the best! http://www.spaamfaa.org/wanted/fire-truck-donation-9-17-19/

Update, I bit the bullet and applied for a SPAAMFAA ad, I sent it to the main page though and I don’t know how it works yet. I did this because I keep having this reoccurring dream where I end up finding it at some farm with a red barn and help the guy slowly fix it up, and everytime I have this dream it gets a little better each time, to the point where when I dreamed about it last night the pain was shiny and glossy and still very wet. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m so bothered by the thought it may be lost that I strive to know. I keep hearing conflicting reports on my trails but no definite proof, some say it was sold to a scrap dealer and most likely has long ago met its demise but some say it’s in the hands of an anonymous private collector. All I know is that it seems like it’s disappeared from the public eye 5 years ago and that’s very worrying. Such a unique piece of history like this deserves to be preserved. I can’t even begin to express my frustration in the fact they gutted the 707 out of it in favor of some random diesel motor that require plenty of fabrication work to it from what I’ve seen. Now imagine my rage if I find out someone tore it apart to be used for a new iPhone or something of the sort. I’d be more comfortable with the situation if it were parted out even, but if it’s still out there, even if it’s just rotting away, I’d be happy. My only hope is that someone will care for it and give it the attention it deserves. It really is a one of a kind...

1986 Mack Superliner

I'd love to see that thing tearing up an oval track like in the beginning of Smokey and the Bandit 2. That is a really sweet looking rig! -
I remember a few months ago Port Canaveral got this one to help lift rockets off of the ships they land on after they've come back from space...

$9000 for a truck that doesn't even run? Sounds like a nice project but I've seen trucks at half that price that run and drive like new...

Many thanks to the brave souls who've risked their lives so the rest of us can lay our heads down to rest without fear. Words are not enough to express the gratitude we should all have for these people!

Mack CF Restoration
CaptainCrutch replied to CaptainCrutch's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Honestly after the discovery of the electric fuel pump on this rig that was my bet, that we had burnt it out, which would've explained the lack of fuel and the smell of an electrical fire that couldn't be found when we first tried to start it last month and discovered the problem. -
I see a progression here, just in the complete wrong direction. You'd think they'd at least check to make sure it's the right part, and they should find that when they do that. I guess not, hopefully this is a very unusual case...

Saw quite the surprise on my way home...
CaptainCrutch replied to CaptainCrutch's topic in Odds and Ends
Well leaving home this morning I saw another of these surprises... he was just sitting there, stopped, broken down... had to drive through someone’s lawn to get anywhere... -

Well the video I posted is of me and my rig... I mostly made it for firefighters like us who aren’t mechanics and as I said the maintenance manual is useless at telling me where the things are, just that the secondary is mounted to the motor, and not where on the motor... so I crawled under the truck and looked for them... -
Mack CF Restoration
CaptainCrutch replied to CaptainCrutch's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Well as it turns out the maintenance manual is useless when it comes to finding consumables like the fuel filters, so I had to crawl under the truck with a flashlight to find what looks like the original filters put on the thing... so to help anyone else also having a similar issue I made a little video showing where they are when I was down in the barn today to get part numbers and mow... hope this ends up helping somebody! -
It actually looks like the crew cab is designed as a factory option instead of just a metal box someone stuck on the end to make an existing cab a crew cab... it’s not often I’ve seen a 4 door CF with matching doors all around... if I had $3000 handy and less of a hatred for New Jersey I think I’d be on my way there to pick up this thing! Depending how long this lasts I just might... I’ve got some old friends up that way I haven’t seen in a while, just have to get the money together... but maybe that’s just me daydreaming of a Jay Leno size collection of Macks...

My L has a 5 speed, I’d guess the B would be the same, maybe even a 6 speed...

Finally got outta my work late tonight and on my way home I have the biggest heart attack when I’m greeted with this thing that turned out to be stopped there so the harvester off in the distance could unload into something, and then figured you all would get a kick out of it... sorry for the crappy quality but I didn’t exactly have time to expect and prepare for this...

Oh she loves the old raggedy look of the thing, something kinda cool about the mad max look...

Mack Trucks Historical Museum
CaptainCrutch replied to eddeere's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Trucktoberfest probably isn’t helping matters, they had to clear space I one of the rooms for demo trucks and cabs. They’re probably just really busy right now, and during Trucktoberfest some of their record cabinets were locked up in a corner somewhere in the outside shed with all the old spare parts. -
If nobody takes it, my SO absolutely adores it just from the one picture you’ve sent... might take a little bit to get the money together for it though... she’s never been this excited about a truck before, not to say she isn’t into the ‘hobby’ but this one just especially caught her eye this time I guess... it’d be fun to paint it a nice blue after we’ve sorted it out mechanically, luckily it seems like funding for our firetruck repairs are generally taken care of, so that would leave a project like this to fill that gap... we’ll see how far that goes I guess!

Individuals are typically much more trustworthy than big corporations, you have to watch what you say when you don't have a multi billion dollar industry so powerful they're capable of changing laws to get you put of trouble, let alone using the court of public opinion, the public opinion that is their goal to influence, to then make things go the way they want. When you're a lonely guy in a studio with a handful of other people just doing what you can to keep the studio running, you have to watch what you say because the monopolies want you to disappear as it is, no need to give them a reason... already they've changed laws in Germany so that a small live stream host has to have a license to broadcast in the nation, even if you're using a medium like YouTube and not just radio transmissions. Kills the Ben Shapiros and Steven Crowders of the world who need those mediums to survive. For now though they can still post videos in these countries just can't live stream. But that's not guaranteed either, many political channels on YouTube and whatnot have had their revenue taken away or have been banned, recently a Scottish man was arrested and fined because he made a video where he turned his dog into a Nazi so his girlfriend wouldn't love her dog so much and could focus on him. It was a joke... one big joke... and the court ignored the fact it was a joke and said it was supposed to inspire antisemitism, essentially the court claims the video making fun of Nazis was actually secretly in support of Nazis... understandably the man refuses to pay the fine! And if context doesn't matter then just reporting on it would mean you support the Nazis apparently, so nobody paid much mind to it besides when the video first gained popularity online and they were trying to claim it fostered antisemitic discussions, thus sparking the trial to begin with. If you want to do more of your own research you can look him up, Count Dankula. It's a prime example of the media and politicians trying to silence their 'opponents' instead of debating them.

I dunno, we got our fully working CF, minus a busted drain valve, for that price back in the 90s... I don’t think it’s too far fetched now, especially since it probably doesn’t run very far with that busted alternator. I’ve actually seen them lower!

I’ve stoped watching the news all together these days, everyone has an agenda and will curve stories to fit their’s or they won’t share stories they can’t curve... there no unbiased source anymore except the sources for the media, which is where I get the news. News is only useful for knowing big important events like another terrorist attack or something of the sort... sometimes when it seems like there’s no real source for something I check what everyone is saying from all sides and only accept what they all agree on and take the rest with a wheelbarrow of salt until it’s independently reviewed and confirmed... the media and politicians thrive off divisiveness, people are more likely to donate when they’re more passionate and the media gets more views the crazier they can make a headline which gives them more ad revenue... a prime example is when MSMBC said they found Trumps taxes when everyone was running a round saying he had committed tax fraud and it turned out it was nothing but they really hyped it up to get viewers... it’s like that with everyone unfortunately... this is why the loudest voice today on both sides the most extreme one, the divisiveness gets boosted so that everyone profits, meanwhile it makes a laughingstock of our country and the hardworking people who everyday bust their asses protecting the average Joe or working to make someone else’s life a bit better see nothing from it all... I still believe we wouldn’t have such a problem if we didn’t have political parties to begin with and everyone could think for themselves instead of having to align to the two main parties which have proven countless times they alter their own policies not to reflect their true beliefs but instead to make sure they oppose the other so we all stay divided. But I don’t think any of us will see politics parties either increase in how many are major enough to be recognized or cease to legally exist all together... but that doesn’t mean I don’t pray it happens some day!
