  1. I remember seeing that one up for sale a while ago when I was looking for an old LTL for my dad, and remember passing on it just because the radiator isn’t the LT kind that he likes... nice to hear it’ll end up in good hands! Good luck with the retrofit!
  2. I was trying to see if this unit was still around, could only find anything about the Super Pumper and feared this was scrapped! So glad to see it's still around, I just wish they could get together sometime and give a presentation of how they operated back in the day...
  3. I think it's perfect just the way it is, other than the rear bumper looking bare and I'm partial to a dual stick Mack drive train... but as Mrs.Mack said the main negative I see is it's not mine... What do you plan on doing with it once it's done? I see you've gone through a good bit of trouble building that box for the trailer lines...
  4. I know from experience that there’s an electric fuel pump in the back close to the fuel tank on those, and the line is too long for one fuel pump to work. Make sure that’s working before you go too much further... you can pretty easily pump through the old mechanical pump, so honestly if you do need to stick one on there just do as yarnall did with his. We took entirely too long to figure out that the problem was an electric fuel pump we didn’t even know about...
  5. We tend to like pictures of anything on these trucks, I know plenty of us have posted pictures of our truck in many pieces...
  6. It’s crazy how the tech these days can make cleaning up a roll over such a breeze!
  7. Atleast the driver is alright, you can replace a truck but a life is quite a bit harder to file and insurance claim and get a brand new one of...
  8. Just today this picture was taken, after this rocket landed on that barge in the middle of the Atlantic it came back to port and now will be brought back tot he launch pad to gain a payload and fly again, maybe even later this month! The finer details are equally as cool like using this behemoth of a crane, which will also be rigged with winches to fold up the landing legs. Just something cool I figured I’d share!
  9. Considering most fire companies in MD are volunteer until you get to the bigger cities, I’m not so sure the qualifications to be a firefighter in the state are exactly high... believe me I know an example of a guy threatening to shoot another guy for having a little confederate flag sticker on the rear window of his truck... Maryland isn’t exactly the brightest state in the union...
  10. These guys seem like they've got a good cause here, figured I'd spread the word. They just want a firetruck to take kids who are a little closer to death's door than most of us older kids-at-heart out around town. I'd love to see them get something with a big cab but clearly they're looking for anything. I wish them the best! http://www.spaamfaa.org/wanted/fire-truck-donation-9-17-19/
  11. Update, I bit the bullet and applied for a SPAAMFAA ad, I sent it to the main page though and I don’t know how it works yet. I did this because I keep having this reoccurring dream where I end up finding it at some farm with a red barn and help the guy slowly fix it up, and everytime I have this dream it gets a little better each time, to the point where when I dreamed about it last night the pain was shiny and glossy and still very wet. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m so bothered by the thought it may be lost that I strive to know. I keep hearing conflicting reports on my trails but no definite proof, some say it was sold to a scrap dealer and most likely has long ago met its demise but some say it’s in the hands of an anonymous private collector. All I know is that it seems like it’s disappeared from the public eye 5 years ago and that’s very worrying. Such a unique piece of history like this deserves to be preserved. I can’t even begin to express my frustration in the fact they gutted the 707 out of it in favor of some random diesel motor that require plenty of fabrication work to it from what I’ve seen. Now imagine my rage if I find out someone tore it apart to be used for a new iPhone or something of the sort. I’d be more comfortable with the situation if it were parted out even, but if it’s still out there, even if it’s just rotting away, I’d be happy. My only hope is that someone will care for it and give it the attention it deserves. It really is a one of a kind...
  12. I'd love to see that thing tearing up an oval track like in the beginning of Smokey and the Bandit 2. That is a really sweet looking rig!
  13. I remember a few months ago Port Canaveral got this one to help lift rockets off of the ships they land on after they've come back from space...
  14. $9000 for a truck that doesn't even run? Sounds like a nice project but I've seen trucks at half that price that run and drive like new...
  15. Many thanks to the brave souls who've risked their lives so the rest of us can lay our heads down to rest without fear. Words are not enough to express the gratitude we should all have for these people!
  16. Honestly after the discovery of the electric fuel pump on this rig that was my bet, that we had burnt it out, which would've explained the lack of fuel and the smell of an electrical fire that couldn't be found when we first tried to start it last month and discovered the problem.
  17. I see a progression here, just in the complete wrong direction. You'd think they'd at least check to make sure it's the right part, and they should find that when they do that. I guess not, hopefully this is a very unusual case...
  18. Well leaving home this morning I saw another of these surprises... he was just sitting there, stopped, broken down... had to drive through someone’s lawn to get anywhere...
  19. Well the video I posted is of me and my rig... I mostly made it for firefighters like us who aren’t mechanics and as I said the maintenance manual is useless at telling me where the things are, just that the secondary is mounted to the motor, and not where on the motor... so I crawled under the truck and looked for them...
  20. Well as it turns out the maintenance manual is useless when it comes to finding consumables like the fuel filters, so I had to crawl under the truck with a flashlight to find what looks like the original filters put on the thing... so to help anyone else also having a similar issue I made a little video showing where they are when I was down in the barn today to get part numbers and mow... hope this ends up helping somebody!
  21. It actually looks like the crew cab is designed as a factory option instead of just a metal box someone stuck on the end to make an existing cab a crew cab... it’s not often I’ve seen a 4 door CF with matching doors all around... if I had $3000 handy and less of a hatred for New Jersey I think I’d be on my way there to pick up this thing! Depending how long this lasts I just might... I’ve got some old friends up that way I haven’t seen in a while, just have to get the money together... but maybe that’s just me daydreaming of a Jay Leno size collection of Macks...
  22. My L has a 5 speed, I’d guess the B would be the same, maybe even a 6 speed...
  23. Finally got outta my work late tonight and on my way home I have the biggest heart attack when I’m greeted with this thing that turned out to be stopped there so the harvester off in the distance could unload into something, and then figured you all would get a kick out of it... sorry for the crappy quality but I didn’t exactly have time to expect and prepare for this...
  24. Oh she loves the old raggedy look of the thing, something kinda cool about the mad max look...
  25. Trucktoberfest probably isn’t helping matters, they had to clear space I one of the rooms for demo trucks and cabs. They’re probably just really busy right now, and during Trucktoberfest some of their record cabinets were locked up in a corner somewhere in the outside shed with all the old spare parts.
