    Here’s a few pics of my 1/50 scale Mack B61 Mack Trucks Towing I custom built years ago and put it on my O scale layout. Lots of different components and parts were used to make this truck.

    Nice truck. The way you built it reminds me of the 1974 RS700Sl I drove especially the Farr Air cleaner. It had a 318 DD in it.

    That’s neat. I was too young to remember him but I remember reading about his casting in my older brothers Autoworld magazine in the mid 1970s that Lou Krouck? built. Don’t think that’s spelled right lol. I used to talk to Doug Compton he took over after Jim. I’ll have to post some of Doug’s trucks(I bought from(Jim Etters castings) I built back in 1984-85 I was 16 years old. I did used to call Doug and talk to him but it was limited because it was long distance. I just had the cabs now from over the years. Thanks for the memories too.

    Have you had any feedback from AMT on this subject. This is a great idea hope they listen. I’ve been building model truck since 1978 of all scales. I have a lot of Dave’s ( AITM) stuff and a few Jim Etters.

    My days are numbered in this old Mack after 25 years in the Intermodal field as I’m retiring and getting a local job here at the house. It’s been fun. I’ve drove this truck since it was new in 2016 had no problems but general maintenance and a sensor or to go out.

    Here’s a pic of my old 1976 Autocar A64B I use to show. Had a 290 Cummins with a 13 speed. I was the second owner of the truck I had it for 19 years before selling it.

    Here’s a pic of my old Autocar A64b dad and I restored before he passed away. I sold it 2yrs ago I had it for 19 years I sold it because of my severe Arthritis and I could no longer keep the truck in the shape I want it instead of keeping it and rusting to ground I sold it to someone who is going to keep it going.

    Did you like that V8 Mack Engine? I never ran one. I drove a 1964 Mack B with the Thermodyne and a Triplex wish I could remember what size that engine was. Thanks for sharing I enjoy reading what us older Truckers had drove brings back memories I just can like these new trucks but like you I enjoy the Power they have now.

    Never pulled those lowboys my hats off to you and those guys lots of respect for them. I’ve drove Mack’s most of my career it’s nice to drive one with Air Ride but it still rides like a Mack I wouldn’t have it any other way.

    Not really pull the pin drop the airbags pull out from under it. I’ve been in the intermodal trucking for 24 years with the same company never had a problem. Been driving for 31 i’m a fourth generation trucker

    Here’s the last pics I took of your truck about a year before you bought it. I was in love with that truck but I knew with my severe arthritis I could never restore it like I did my Autocar. Glad you got it and it wasn’t scraped or parts out.

    I think they still have one in Troy Illinois at the Freightliner education center that’s the one I used to go to a lot it’s in September I can find out for you the show dates in St Louis. To bad you didn’t find my Autocar before I sold it I think you would have really liked that truck.
