  1. I'm confused (not first time ) is it a hyd system or air assist ?pitman arm has valve body and tie rod has an air cyl. it's been a number of yrs; can't recall hyd system being described
  2. heck; i don't feel tooo bad seeing the two i missed. eyes aren't good enough to see different plate numbers on mack #3 . did study the flag above mack #1 , didn't study it enough to see size difference just fact it was there. have best day possible. sun is shining day is great; waiting on phone call to let me know parts are in for a JD tractor i have apart. can't sit at computer on dry day;; LOL
  3. doesn't seem any one excepting the challenge , your not going to let me hang without showing the last two😁😄
  4. your statement " the motor spins" ; to be on the same page ; what motor spins ? starter motor spins or the engine motor spins. not trying to be a wise guy ;; just wondering. if the engine spins == different diagnostic area. if starter motor spins and engine isn't i would consider the starter has wrong drive gear. looking at the picture i will say I'm not a fan of the clamp style battery terminals . brand new OK down the road they create problems.
  5. on the jake swap; the exhaust rocker adjusting screws need to be changed also. mack adjusters are screw driver slots. when a jake is installed no access with screw driver. the adjusters are changed to a 3/8 or 7/16 head ?. i have found if you take a small center punch and punch marks on the valve cover or jake spacer, the rubber gaskets don't slide out and leak. basically the jake is an add on;; the dynatard is built in.
  6. 2 to go;;; LOL breaktime ;; do i qualify for a shot (jack daniels) no beer
  7. first line lower left on road ALSO missing a white dot
  8. yellow mack intake snorkel different sizes
  9. sorry i haven't been here LOL digging out the magnifying glass . and the eye drops😁
  10. If you have access to a welder. i would go with a piece of 2 1/2==3 in channel making a set closely resembling the original till a set hopefully can be found. won't be cast but also won't be a bought bracket that looks out of place. just sayin
  11. Ya know it's another case of "live and learn" ;; all the new trucks i prep and worked on. never put 2&2 together with the ST vs S . a twin screw chassis usually long wheel base was an S signifying a straight truck while the typical tractor (twin screw ) had the ST. 50 plus yrs later and the ole Polack is still learning. 😁
  12. I don't feel so bad now about the 59 in vin #. I knew the second/third number reference to engine ;; the 59 wasn't a common # I remember; 607// 685// etc. sure do enjoy the knowledge this forum shares.
  13. any pictures? i got the U-Umodel; got the 6-600 series; got the ST -twinscrew; 1081- vin with only 80 same made before it. what is a 59(659)? what yr?
  14. mack #3 green bumper plate different
  15. signal lite mack #4 missing rt fender
  16. amber light behind mack # 5 (white) above air intake
  17. 7 more!!!! LOL . how can that be .. 😄
  18. the world lost another Code Talker last week. believe there are only 4 still alive. one Uncle was in the battle of the bulge also a P O W. my older brother survived a tour in nam. to this day he has a piece of steel lodged near the main vein to his heart from there. in the day it was too dangerous to operate. I didn't serve either. diagnosed with a bad heart at 12. made it work till 2015. doc said we open you up and replace parts or you don't see2016
  19. there is no place that is the wrong place to say THANK YOU to our VETERANS.. appreciate You bringing attention to Purple Heart day. I had a Purple Heart that was found cleaning out my Grandmother's stuff. IT belonged to one of my Uncles. both of which deserved One. guess it can be said to be fortunate I didn't know which one;; A person receiving the Medal doesn't have their name imprinted on the back if they are still surviving.
  20. while working at a Mack dealer early '70's a major construction Co bought 20 brand new DM's . a few had blow by from valve cover vent. wasn't considered a problem. on the other hand, a used truck depending on mileage /hrs ; blow by doesn't always mean a needed engine rebuild. open oil filler cap while it's running; how much blow-by out the cap vs out the vent.
  21. lead truck un seen in picture missing bulldog on mirror first R model (gray) different grill bars #3 mack (green/white) missing fog light
  22. yellow mack roof marker light missing one line missing on road ; 3 vs 4 between mack 4 and 5 guess i should reply to notices i get from my eye doctor to schedule an over due appointment ; at least use my eye drops. LOL this taxes the mind and eyes. but SO much fun. high school reunion was 53 yrs ago ;; lets not think of grammer school where we did these "tests"
  23. first mack headlights 2vs4 numbers on pole 50vs 60 red roof panel missing rib bumper plate on yellow mack different spot stack in background by #50 has flapper 5th mack (white) missing hood bug deflector
  24. that's what is called a work of art. no plastic tyraps holding lines etc. all the proper rubber insulated clamps. i'm sure you don't want to sit and total the $$$$$ or man hours when done; but driving down the road or sitting at a show makes it all worth while.
  25. maybe He was; don't know ;He might have been riding in the passenger seat. they only leave physically
