DMM ==dumper/mixer/massive = no that's not right !! DMM had the raised cabs no front fender wells. set up for dual front steer / front wheel drive/ steel or fiberglass nose.

can't guarantee location; did you look on the treadle (foot brake )valve? if you have a blue / yellow red knobs on the dash, the blue should be a "master control" valve. which is why brake lights work same with blue or yellow.

correct on the DM designation dumper/ mixer . DM800 replaced the B81 series, DM600 had the two versions- steel/fiberglass nose. the U model (Universal model) was brought in as a B 61 series replacement. U's became a city delivery vehicle sporting lighter frame; shorter wheel bases ; enough to pull longer trailers. the off set cab has been with Mack going back to the LM ? series. as with everything there are exceptions to the rule. a prestress co in CT had DM611st's AND a number of DM611 T's. single axle DM's with 24 in rubber; double rails ;quads; heaviest rear with massive torque arms. osculating 5th wheels on 4in spacers.

should the day come for rear seal replacing and you go with updated seal/ring DON'T throw away old style housing. hang it in a man cave or something with the lead seal ..it will be a museum piece . instead of saying I had one of those = you can say I GOT one of those.

didn't turn out all bad . last company non union pension (which I won't name but they do sell a lot of soda in those red trucks) had their own pension/ 401 K system which to my surprise paid out almost 10 K for every year of service. I was employed 7 years = do that math. happy day when that check showed up. went a bought a whole 6 pack of soda. LOL

in frame would explain no rear crank seal /ring . save the lead seal ; might need it down the road or change over to newer rear housing using lip seal and wear ring.

hopefully the brass hammer tapping was being done in the center by bolt hole NOT outer edge

Mack was an open shop ( some union some not. ). new contract going to make Mack closed shop=all union. also initiation to union going from $25.oo (yes twenty five dollars) to $100.oo. ;monthly = why spend another $75.oo . dues were $5.oo. todays numbers in the hundreds to join with monthly ????. I will say I got my money back with all the medical expense I had. unfortunately as posted above money/ greed ruined everything. they did manage to "screw me over " last job I had was union company NOT union pension. short version = had meeting with pension crooks to be told : company not contributing to pension so I will loose $200.oo a MONTH !! after 36 yrs paying dues. total 38 yrs in union ; first two years apparently money for pension was "LOST " some where. 200 a month have been retired since 2017 . figure the math.

they were small part of assorted bolts in toolbox inventory. fortunately for me the assortments of bolts and misc are going to a very well deserved new location for future use.

13 min 250 oil ??? new tech . another first for this ole man , emery cloth -clean both mating surfaces . install dry ..challenge of the day was lining up the mounting holes. they are off set so damper goes on only one way for balancer timing marks, follow up on rear crank seal ==was it going to be changed or this is in frame??

the two supers had basically same set up. talking to owner; pre '84 steering boxes were axle mounted, hayward units. later units frame mounted .

if the job becomes so aggravating you only acquire ulcers and high blood pressure ; then the money no matter how good isn't worth it. only thing good money will accomplish is providing a nicer coffin. don't know if many jobs in todays world if legal are enjoyable .

when I see a woman my age they all look good with my eye sight. now that's not a fair comparison either ; a good lookin Mack (most are) wins every time. I can listen to the nice bark of a bulldog all day ,knowing I can shut it off. a woman on the other hand ; can't even disconnect a battery to stop the barking !!!🤣
