  1. just for the sake of conversation :::: motors are electric ;;; diesels are engines. !!!!
  2. GUESS WE ALL SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MORE NOTES< such a complicated world we live in.
  3. after I left baskin robbins. I heard they went to electronic logs. NO way would that work for me at the time. having the NJ run in days before GPS/ cell phones ; going out with 15=19 stops out of 32=35 0n route . it was always 16 + hr days. didn't have the smarts to run 2 logs like some others. it was down and back to ct before the George Washinton bridge morning rush. on occasion had to do lay overs in NJ if certain stops not done by midnight. had to show sleeping in motel when actually slept in truck (day cab). run was a thurs- sat on paper. only scale house then was at CT/NY line. was fun for a while.
  4. on a shelf to which wife not happy ??? better secure it to well to shelf !! don't want to hear all that hard work building gone due to it "accidently " falling off shelf ;; amazing it happened when you weren't there ???😨
  5. nice to know someone's on my side'' LMAO. actually 148 1/2
  6. now that's heavy. interesting also.
  7. small piece of 90 degree plastic will make a perfect eng/ transmission mount. can't see it with cab on.. looking for original ;let me know, I have numerous spare parts.
  8. and I have a daughter older then Your son.!!LOL
  9. the B -61 is the most important part for needed repair . old man speaking ; or possibly Jack Daniels speaking for me
  10. you can always fix a bone ;;BUT a B-61 !!!! limited supply .
  11. Mr. Moffo Jr like his Father is a brilliant man .honored to have known him. Sr was also a Waterbury policeman ,. each generation before doesn't always realize what life was like before. seems I've grown in a generation having seen before and present day,! maybe why I'm SO grumpy. times were good but you worked for what you had. THANK YOU BMT for being part of an old man life.
  12. 🤣🤣. the "boomer "generation had it the best !! before us the people worked SO hard to make ends meet. after "US" no one seems to care. main interest is having the newest phone, recently granddaughter ( 16/17) made a comment at the table after being "accused "of doing 80 plus mph on I-95 "that's my playground" . if only I could have slapped her.!! i've seen dead on the road, have carried injured from car wrecks.!! "PLAYGROUND" WTF
  13. 56 !!! toooo much math for me to figure when I was that young =56 LOL . I make it to mid may think I'll be 74. best part of those years were spent under hoods of Mack B-75's and 81's.
  14. twin stack; B Mack with 866 in the rack. that must have one heck of nice sound when fuel down. if I could only remember 1/2 of what Mack engineers did to the 866 during tear down inspect while I was at waterbury Mack and new style FL700 with 866 was in test mode.
  15. long as the memories hold out . hope never to forget being around such majestic "works of machinery" . the Mack 70's series was always a favorite for road tractors in the day. 80's group led the pack for construction. 60's series worked well for local deliveries etc.
  16. with great sadness I write of the passing of Dom Moffo Jr. I only found out today He passed away jan.27,2025. this is for many of the Connecticut BMT members who may have know him. I'm not only honored to have known Dom Jr , but His Father Dominic Sr as well. A family of truck drivers. briefly met Dom Jr's Son this past yr. A third generation truck driver carrying on his family tradition. this is a Family of old school ideas; you needed help. they were there to lend a hand.
  17. thanks for picture , never knew twin steer were used then. this blakeslee part of or for runner to Blakeslee prestress ??
  18. thought it was my mother being talked about. wooden hangers across the back for no apparent reason ;possibly boredom . challenge was when the wooden ones would break ; she had a group of metal ones to use; they only bent. BUT there are those having real issues in todays world. Dad was the lenient one; think he was afraid of her also.
  19. another model so common in the day; who would have guess be so hard to find today. Waterbury sand and gravel (Connecticut co )had a fleet of them along with single axle B-75's. pulling trailer dumps. I called them the U-models older cousin. engine half cabs not the offset part.
  20. like most of my life lately ;; running late !! still got an order in for the125 coin. not only a nice addition to a Mack collection BUT more important a show of support to Barry and His efforts .
  21. add Me to Your list LOL .
  22. best part of BMT is WE ALL look after one another. keeps old men like me going.
  23. SORRY 70 mack MB I did it again and went off topic. i was good for a while. LOL
  24. being quite proud to say I'm a farm boy who did all the grammar school/high school/1 1 /2 yrs of college but quit to be a diesel mechanic which to me taught common sense . as Red Skelton (one of my heros ) stated in His rendition of "THE PLEDGE of ALLEGIANCE" . since I was a small boy 2 states have been added to the US and two words added to the Pledge of Allegiance : under GOD ; wouldn't that be a pity if that was eliminated from schools to!! 1994 and it was. sadly for our Children common sense seems to have disappeared. I encourage ALL to listen to Red Skeltons version. another comic that would make you laugh and NOT have to say the F bomb. such better times.
  25. NOT STEPPING ON YOUR OWN TREAD ;Your just showing how important Family is . how could you go and work on a plastic model when those sad eyes are staring saying " my pal doesn't feel well " . WE at BMT all have Faith in You to "GETTER DUN" best of hope for the little pal. My husky /shepherd found as a pup in rescue shelter stayed with us for 16 yrs till the fatal day we had to ===. still miss the ole boy.. I'm too old to chase a puppy and don't want the sadness of putting down a senior dog. pets are part of a Family . keep BMT updated on puppy wellness.
