  1. I'll send my address and they can come over to help take down this Christmas tree ;; WAIT A MINUTE ;;; where can I send my wife first ..🤣
  2. can see in picture #2 why that muffler wasn't as noticeable having dump body "hiding "it. defiantly would look awkward as a stand alone . even a headboard on flatbed wouldn't cover it. does the DM still have brackets for oval short muffler ?
  3. those pieces are what a mechanic considers a fantastic "cross word puzzle". so many pieces and a challenge swapping them around till results are :: THAT'S HOW THEY GO !!!
  4. we are all countin on Ya Bob ::getter dun. going back to a small side mount vertical muffler or an under mount resonator style??
  5. one number looks to be 2T302?? other tool 81 106 or its an ST 106
  6. apologize for delayed response. I've enlarged/studied , can say possible === . can't confirm actual usage. checking bell housing run out was a tool having a dial indicator fixed to it connected to crank shaft and spun. I can see how the individual parts are related to each other terms of using. spare dowel pins top right . flat bar with center hole back in the day may have been used for top of sleeve puller. 3 bottom round "pipes" used for different diameter holes in crankshaft not having a bearing ??? very faint part numbers on one . don't recall a grove cutter having this stuff. keep the tools soaking in some oil;;WHEN I drive down to see my sister and some BMT members ,remind me to check that stuff out up close.
  7. Not a pack-rat ;; difference is you are saving for tomorrow. does tomorrow ever get here ==Nope it becomes today!!!LOL
  8. not counting the viet Nam conflict (it didn't meet the requirements -yes they have them ) to be called officially a war. the generation of my parents had for the most part a positive future for their children. sadly I can't say the same for my daughters children.
  9. darn you must be showing your (old) age also. Paul Harvey said it like it was . If we could only go back to better days .
  10. possible reason for all the interest in space travel. earth is screwed . billionaires see more money to be made on other planets.
  11. now that's what you call a circus wagon.
  12. that's a lot of truck to part with. being you did the build yourself; I hope it' a positive reason for sale , not a have to due to health or other negative issues . best of luck on your endeavor,
  13. that is one fine looking unit. enough chrome to look good yet not a circus wagon. the black radiator sets the picture. unusual to see white hood (and air cleaner ) which doesn't follow up to cab roof. a look all it's own. fender guides = with mascot bulldogs showing the way AND the correct spot mirrors complete the package
  14. unfortunately finding the cutter or many of the machinist tools of days gone by slim chances. may have better chance of finding a pot of gold. have seen many cases where when questioning such equipment has the same response== oh we got rid of that stuff to the scrap yard, didn't have anyone who knew how to run it !! or most resent is shop has new computer which takes up less space and doesn't need vacations doing same job.
  15. WE are not totally FU#$%ED === OUR GRANDCHILDREN ARE !!!
  16. part 2- AND we made up our own cut to order with old or new ends hyd/air/water lines . from the small #4 to the large #12/16 aero-quipt medium pressure hose .high pressure hose was far and few. used different fittings with outer sleeve cut down to braid before installing ends.
  17. going to be difficult NOT going off topic ; can't go with out a reply. zagar and Evens back in the '60's wrote the song ::: in the year 2525; now listen to those words and convince yourself thats not where the plant is headed. hope the backward beings of this planet don't go to mars/pluto=why screw those planets up; READY == of course they may be able to solve the E6-285 engine problems on mars !!! howd I do for on track.. LOL
  18. Ah the fun good days LOL , that thin gray rubber seal never did it's job. bottom half of louvers didn't last long after internal "flood" always rotted out. fact they were installed on the DM kept with period correct acc. great job.
  19. yes there was/is such a tool ,, Mack dealer back then had one for cutting fire ring grooves in the HEAD. did use it way back then. where it is or can find one ; can't help on that. same as bob(mowerman ) waiting for hyd hoses , things much different today. many dealers (HD truck) did majority of their own work . few items sent out. parts were ready available since most were interchangeable to other models. relined shoes. engines. drive trains rebuilt in house.
  20. 20-30 yrs from now do you think an "engine" will still be using oil ? have to wonder how far this "save the planet " will actually go. glad I won't be around.
  21. picture #2 showing roto chamber also show a hefty driveshaft , TRANSMISSION (not falling for that trans stuff again), not having a parking brake drum on output shaft ,what appears to be tri shaft maxi TRANSMISSION . picture showing the red parking brake button has partial decal on heater box cover looks to say maxidyne diesel engine. vin number will explain much
  22. title calls it an R-350. thought was an R-400 ; would put it in the hyd brake class ??. picture looks to be a twin -screw. red button may not be a miss place if it is set up for trailer towing?? interesting to find out what rear drive brakes are ;; hyd/air. would help explain the conversion roto chamber for air to trailer brakes. all goes well , BMT will have follow ups and great to have complete door/ frame serial number.
  23. apologize for incorrect info ;; B-20 lighter drive train ; smaller wheels size (in some instances) possibly work better for this application.
  24. call it another change in times;; back when if a line was needed = simple step to go in parts room grab roll of correct size aero=quipt hose; cut to length , bevel ends on grinder = clean out hose , screw ends on using caution NOT to cut inner lining with fitting. plenty of oil/ grease and straight shot fitting to hose. have seen internal hose lining cut installing fitting, never this modern day "have to order" = different today.
  25. can't wait till that topic gets posted and BMT crew can vote on who has the best mobile smoker/cooking set up on a big rig. LMAO . big question now is will the classification be done on GVW 🤣🤣or smoker capacity😂
