did front brakes on daughters 20?? Subaru Saturday am first wheel 1hr and 25 mins!!! take in to consideration a lot of that time was getting things set up =jack, tools etc, could NOT remove the rotor !!! I know they just slide off- oh no. brass hammer , beat thrash ; nothing. two puller hole on rotor =metric thread ;;; do I have metric bolts ;; of course some where . found two that fit . didn't even put torque on them rotor popped off. Why you ask??? because the loser award goes to; darn its him again LOL. second wheel start to finish 20 minutes == using the two puller hole in rotor. then she says "oh the front tire is low on air ": how do you know i ask --cause the little light is on the dash.. didn't ask for how long has it been on , and she's the more mechanical one . 33 yrs old,

I miss the driving even if it was only for a short 7-8 yrs after they closed the maintenance shop. don't think in todays world I could get back behind the wheel of a big rig. things back to "normal" for me can never happen =sadly. such a different world . A nice DM811SX working in a pit ; NO highway -nice way to spend retirement.

back in summer of "15 I was informed by the heart DR= "you really cut this one close" referring to how long I waited before addressing the chest pains I had been having. being thick-headed Polack I couldn't hide it any more. used to go out in the fleet yard and hide behind trailers. Ya I know real fu--in stupid. aorta was close to exploding. they opened me up took it out and put in new parts. think warranty's up . youngsters take care of yourself early.
-
I "harp/nag" to the younger generation ALL the time about start now to take care of yourself, time flies by faster then you will realize. mother-in-law (80's)smoked probably 1/2 pack or more a day. says one day; I have to stop smoking lungs are getting bad, I said why stop now damage is done . you can take an engine with 100k which never had an oil change .then it starts making noise; better change oil= really too late now. speaking from experience and having a bad ticker since12 ; the retirement yrs have been worse then 50 + yrs of working 80 hrs a week. retired and older the body doesn't have the ambition levels of yrs before. fine yourself hanging around and food picking, boy do the pounds add up fast. heart Dr told me " your retiring now , better not come back here 20lbs over weight.!! it's a bit-h trying to keep the 20lbs off. little known fact ( to family members)not my BMT family ..is main reason for not driving to NC is the internal chest and other pains have been getting worse. afraid to get behind the wheel for that long a haul. Dam old age sucks. how I miss having a good burger and ice cream not to mention missing beer and cigars. hirop10 glad your on the mend.

does anyone even go by axle weight any more.?? now that you brought it up, thinking about it most go by GVW . haven't seen the portable scale trucks much lately. possibly enough money is made with other paper work being wrong . yrs back CT was making money with the axle weight gimmick.
-
if the rest of the truck is any where as nice as the dash looks, sure hope we get to see it.

I may be "out in left field " with this ;hopefully someone will correct me. 1-the super large oil pans had a situation with hairline cracks developing in the casting . vaguely remember pulling down the tubs fining cracks near the middle reenforcing braces, 2- when the three oil filter set up FIRST showed up , was not the rear filter an internal spin/scrapper filter unlike the other two ?, I know the scania had the spinner /scrapper filter. as stated before these forums get the dormant brain cells moving.

B-73 Restoration

If we weren't watching the transformation through pictures on BMT, I would say without a doubt ==THAT'S NOT THE SAME TRUCK . the fact it is a B=73 with the bold radiator and so forth makes that build even more spectacular! nothing wrong with a B-61 build or any other truck== MACK . 73/ 75 has a way of saying ; get out of my way i'm coming through. for highway units. now if looking at the 73's cousin the B-81 = won't go there ..LOL -

how sad low numbered units never were important then . a unit came in for a repair= you repaired it and it left. might look twice at an unusual set up but then it left. spend time 50=60 yrs later wondering how many of those "unusual" I had access to ;; if any. . Darn!! -

I have an 1 1/4 box wrench with slot cut in it to loosen the valve body on pump. hand pump going to watch fuel flow till it stops. among the many things confusing me today is the new designations of E-6/7 /8 /9 whatever. a 237/ 675/688 were just that. word of caution to you "young folk" when you are over the hill and turn around the hill is very Fu-- in high. -

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE ; SIR ''late '60's were to me the end of the world. as a young farm boy never knew or saw such unrest in a country ,
-
THANK YOU . I received a thumbs up from lady passing me on highway today; believe it was response to back window of my jeep which states NEVER FORGET OUR VETERANS FOR WHAT THEY HAVE GIVEN. all gave some '' some gave ALL,
-
THANK YOU ALL for positive response to our military hero's.

My Brother served in viet nam ' I never talked /discussed it. I'm 13 months younger, sadly as I have stated in other text did NOT serve in the military . not a draft dodger but medical unfit. I highly recommend listening to Red Skelton's narration of the Pledge of Allegiance. a wonderful man speaking such a strong message. you younger folk missed so much. Red was a real comic back in the day and didn't have to use the F -bomb to make people laugh. I would bet people like jeff foxworthy and others used Red Skelton as a mentor.

want to take a moment to thank ALL Veterans for their service . and to remember Those whom made the Alltimate sacrifice so we may have the freedoms we now have. see a Veteran tomorrow and any day , give them a salute and a Thank You. at a diner or where ever buy Them a coffee. 🎖️🏅
