  1. OH heck your talkin a baby truck : I thought you meant a real truck 🤣 LAO!! sorry couldn't help myself. now i;ll have to find the one i'm thinking of. seeems it had a nick name . skinny bottom and went up to a narrow sleeper berth. flat front C O E .
  2. modern technology . in the day a spreader box couldn't hold a full load of asphalt either. looking at shape of CT roads, they don't use them here. NO SMOOTH ROADS HERE.
  3. the rear mount PTO is constant turn due to power shaft runs off live countershaft. the side mounts have a PTO gear installed on the countershaft which is controlled by main in gear
  4. for discussion ONLY 😇; not to object ' memory serves correctly the tri-countershaft transmissions use TOP right counter shaft ??? looking at the trans a side mount bolts higher up and is angled due to trans shape ??? to mount a LEFT side PTO ;which uses the lower countershaft;; a large adapter plate bolts on trans to which has the smaller standard pto bolt pattern. above statement validated cause I just looked at my 1/25th scale mack 6 speed !! LOL
  5. GMC 9500 ?? can't picture . do remember many yrs back working on a skinny GMC cab over ; don't recall model # or what problem was. see some macks on craigslist in NH ? h model / B 's. wonder if they were Dick Kemps ??
  6. for what ever reason the blue was the "one valve "does it all idea. possibly like other brain dead ideas (121 brakes and others) . drivers may have only pulled the yellow =not the red and accidents happened ? feed for brakes should have gone to blue then yellow / red. simple is better.
  7. not being critical - wouldn't want hose to split and suck in dirty air . filter change over is mint. nice job.
  8. looking at the picture , should the intake hoses be loosen up to take the twist/ strain on lower hose going into manifold ??? I would try to loosen and turn top hose toward engine front: might straighten lower hose.
  9. your DM that dark green would look amazing. not a JD green ; Mack green . nice. white roof top ????
  10. very familiar with HI-Ho . they were along with another construction outfit (O&G) to buy fleet of the DMM's in CT. a side view of that body has HI_HO made into the body for side support. Oh the good days.
  11. except for the "guard bee" true ; it's the one stays at the hive entrance. they all go to sleep inside the nest at night . that's the time to spray them or if your a Polack torch the nest . sorry fender.LOL to get back to topic ::: what color is the DM going to be when it's parade ready ???
  12. I'll go with trans was rear mount pto ' constant speed . POSSIBLY aux was left in gear force of habit ; easier to move truck when only one stick had to be moved? same as a duplex/ tri/ or quad box. to have a neutral position only one stick needed to be moved ????
  13. must have been manual engage PTO instead of air operated. would account for third lever. I built a system for customer that had 4 lever system. pain in ass job. ford single axle dump with a flink chip spreader for oiling roads. trans had two PTO's plus up/down body lever also on/off flink spreader. challenge to find pto that was left side mount and ran proper rotation.
  14. one may have been side mount PTO vs rear mount. same transmission different PTO operation.
  15. so are we talking about a SIDE mount or REAR mount PTO ?? problem with the side mount on 6 speed was to be in a suitable gear for body raise (3 or 4 ) , couldn't take off and move . 1st gear take off was tooo slow for body up. been there done that. try and pull a asphalt spreader = I know pulling the spreader was the dinosaur days (my time slot ). todays world spreaders push the truck.
  16. I'm I reading this wrong ??? last statement was a REAR MOUNT PTO. thought whole purpose of rear mount was to eliminate the trans gear position? a 6 speed dump could operate spreading etc in a gear suited for operation. side mount needed a gear selection == main in gear for pto speed and aux in neutral . original post from yrs back was for a question of gear position. last one was rear mount .
  17. So I'm to understand the Brockway show is defiantly worth the trip from NV? it's week-end of 8/12-13/23. I have a commitment ; will see about changing things (to my benefit ).
  18. I'm liken the spotless garage and jeep; what type of floor is that ?? not looking like concrete.
  19. I started looking into a trike. found I could order one almost same color as my '21 gladiator Mojave . (strawberry/ raspberry what ever it's called. at 72 and the assoles drivers in CT ; figured best I not get on a motorcycle.
  20. flight plans for Brockway show NY or Watts/ BMT show PA ???? .
  21. I had a number of different jumpers(pigtails ) made for things such as jake switches. short wires with different ends . the jake switches where threaded terminals with short spade terminals many times. pull the wires off switches and put a jumper to by-pass the switch (es). use dash switch for control-on/off. process of elimination. problem exist -switches good. of course in the day; wiring was much simpler . not all the relays, modules etc.
  22. THANK YOU for info. it would be a few + hr ride , challenge when you don't have anyone else (wife) interested in trucks etc. anyone tells you opposites attract ;; tell them go pound sand .LOL . checking the possibility's of the Watts/ BMT show in PA though . seems my uber services schedule is filling up : sister to airport next week =deliver and pick up and a few more. BUT your retired !!!!
  23. If I may ask? what is the purpose of the shut off valve on lower side of oil filter?? easier access to drain the oil ??? can't clearly see in picture other side of shut off valve . the bottom 3/8 pipe plug drain wasn't the best for draining the canister.
  24. I would agree on the clutch/pump switches JoJo ;IF it kept screwing up . a one time stick ;;dash switch internal stick =corrected itself (for now).although a dash switch would NOT cause it to stay on. electrically I can't speak on relays behalf = I don't know the wiring schematics .
