  1. one may have been side mount PTO vs rear mount. same transmission different PTO operation.
  2. so are we talking about a SIDE mount or REAR mount PTO ?? problem with the side mount on 6 speed was to be in a suitable gear for body raise (3 or 4 ) , couldn't take off and move . 1st gear take off was tooo slow for body up. been there done that. try and pull a asphalt spreader = I know pulling the spreader was the dinosaur days (my time slot ). todays world spreaders push the truck.
  3. I'm I reading this wrong ??? last statement was a REAR MOUNT PTO. thought whole purpose of rear mount was to eliminate the trans gear position? a 6 speed dump could operate spreading etc in a gear suited for operation. side mount needed a gear selection == main in gear for pto speed and aux in neutral . original post from yrs back was for a question of gear position. last one was rear mount .
  4. So I'm to understand the Brockway show is defiantly worth the trip from NV? it's week-end of 8/12-13/23. I have a commitment ; will see about changing things (to my benefit ).
  5. I'm liken the spotless garage and jeep; what type of floor is that ?? not looking like concrete.
  6. I started looking into a trike. found I could order one almost same color as my '21 gladiator Mojave . (strawberry/ raspberry what ever it's called. at 72 and the assoles drivers in CT ; figured best I not get on a motorcycle.
  7. flight plans for Brockway show NY or Watts/ BMT show PA ???? .
  8. I had a number of different jumpers(pigtails ) made for things such as jake switches. short wires with different ends . the jake switches where threaded terminals with short spade terminals many times. pull the wires off switches and put a jumper to by-pass the switch (es). use dash switch for control-on/off. process of elimination. problem exist -switches good. of course in the day; wiring was much simpler . not all the relays, modules etc.
  9. THANK YOU for info. it would be a few + hr ride , challenge when you don't have anyone else (wife) interested in trucks etc. anyone tells you opposites attract ;; tell them go pound sand .LOL . checking the possibility's of the Watts/ BMT show in PA though . seems my uber services schedule is filling up : sister to airport next week =deliver and pick up and a few more. BUT your retired !!!!
  10. If I may ask? what is the purpose of the shut off valve on lower side of oil filter?? easier access to drain the oil ??? can't clearly see in picture other side of shut off valve . the bottom 3/8 pipe plug drain wasn't the best for draining the canister.
  11. I would agree on the clutch/pump switches JoJo ;IF it kept screwing up . a one time stick ;;dash switch internal stick =corrected itself (for now).although a dash switch would NOT cause it to stay on. electrically I can't speak on relays behalf = I don't know the wiring schematics .
  12. I haven't seen one of those in :????? yrs. they all (98%) had the 1/8th in plugs installed to by pass the systems. another one of those posts that wake up the dormant brain cells , yet can picture the parts but can't remember everything.
  13. put a pop-up tent in the dump bed( one higher then the sides of body so you can see it) take it to a car/ truck show on occasion and randomly haul your material . it's an "RV" show truck = classic plates.
  14. don't they all . nobody tells me nuttan . LOL . after a long day (retired????) these red neck post are the best. THANK YOU for starting them. could we all vote for jeff foxworthy as pres.
  15. yes; i'd say so , reason for topping it off in first place ??? doing a super service or was it low and indicator light on dash lit up ???
  16. water filter looks to have been on there for a while (rusted); coolant been changed recently ??
  17. that style top tank with low level sensor will find it's proper level. long as it's NOT constantly puking coolant ;; coolant at bottom of filler neck IS TOOOO MUCH. need room for expansion. all above info is also correct .
  18. and what a pain -in- ass those pan covers were. after a while many were twice as heavy from oil leaks etc going between pan and liner. remember the 2 in foam under engine hoods , they were "muscle builders" on the R's ;; added weight was noticeable.
  19. I see it now those are different fuel caps . was a long day for me today outside in the sun working on a JD farm tractor so my focus ability is a tad off (and possibly a shot or 2 of jack daniels had somethin to do with it)
  20. your messin with my head aren't you.!! NO WAY the black tanks from original found truck in woods were chrome under that paint. 😱 and if they were ;; darn that's A LOT OF ELBOW grease. LOL
  21. same fuel tank but chromed ????
  22. important note you forgot;;; the wonderful condition of the roads in good ole U S A . speaking of course east coast side . think that's the purpose of steer axle floatation tires ; don't get stuck in the many huge pot holes LOL
  23. went to a hobby shop yesterday (1hr drive). walked into be met with attitude and ignorance from workers. talk about price increase !! a plastic model which used to be $11.25 (few yrs back I know); was $86.49. quality very poor. I bought 3 different ones $49.95 and $59.99 plus one more. out the door with 3 plastic models $186.35. needed not 3 models but the different parts they had. fuel tanks etc. no one does resin parts for big rigs anymore (around here)
  24. one of those in the shins not bad;; see the threaded part of pedal ! gaining momentum for a hill I stood up - process of powering down the pedal it snapped .!! you know how a male s bike has the bar !! bar came in contact with the "boys" BEFORE foot touched the ground.
