  1. spin- on filter on B-model!! I'm thinking cartridge filter in canister : remove #4 aeroquipt line (9/16 wrench) then 3/4 ? wrench for housing top removal to access paper fuel filter.
  2. notice the "wig/wag" hanging down front of driver vision ? one concern I would have is the steel double plate along the frame , possibly to reinforce frame to carry large tank. on east coast the salt sand will have it oxidized beyond believe. sleeper and 5th wheel will reveal the truth.
  3. reading these numbers, think I quoted ole #1 R model Mack wrong. not a R609T it is a R607 T =1001 with a 672 cu in. /twin stick duplex 10 speed.
  4. positive side to those type of episodes is next time you will know just how to do it!
  5. that back half picture of same truck in your profile??? that's a nice lookin rig.
  6. complete engine code shouldn't be same as truck vin; which would have been stamped in right front frame rail. surprised its on title. BUT as DCW said " it's registered and you have a title that's the important part.
  7. old tattle tell on the dash (sangagomo) speedo for you youngsters LOL! open the door and install a chart. looks like I haven't lost it completely (mentally). called it close with the RL700 part. best of luck with the restoration. at least you have a great starting point.
  8. spacer block under 5th wheel for added height yet only 38 rears. ?? hauled HD trailer maybe with light rears. better chance to make some $$ in parts rather then whole truck ?? polish doesn't make money; that looks possibly had less care mechanically too. agree based on picture of a rough life. Macks are like ole Soldiers rough life but keep on going .
  9. providing someone doesn't "cut corners" when buying the pintle hook. there are HD spring loaded hooks for such applications. I would think twice before installing a simple "pick up " style.
  10. helps alot . saw auction pictures. they answered many questions.
  11. glad Mark said it first then :: wouldn't want to give away just how old I am when I saw pictures of release and a "few other old age items"!!LOL
  12. be interesting to see specs on the wrecker!! think it's unusual for a wrecker to have alum rails. wreckers have more twisting/ turning off road . another work of modern technology I guess. let's not go off topic now . just ole man thinking out loud.😱
  13. western RL700. longer nose.. total suspense waiting for the last two digits of model number==RL785/ RL773 etc. hopefully model number matches engine.
  14. alum rails might make it a RL700. westerns had the alum for weight . set up a new FL700 back in the day. after mounting 50 + 5th wheels on new chassis; would prefer drill alum thick rails over tensile steel rails. when it's on home ground, I would recommend an extensive (more then normal) inspection of the rails for cracks / oxidation. shouldn't be bad coming from west coast area versus east coast "salt roads".
  15. frame thickest ever seen 'my bet is it's alum. alum rails were way thicker then steel.
  16. now there's the brackets i was thinking of. mental picture only remembered one in middle .🙄
  17. no need to change from intro forum. one bit of advise though == don't hang around me toooo much . you will be taking away my "title "of off topic master. LMAO.
  18. not today there was a change over on rear hanger for bag mounts. owner tried to explain to counter "person". negative response= my computer says all the same: no they aren't. front drive done; pulled one rear for photo session . "oh , we have those in stock dealer says. working outside with rain clouds approaching and a dropped loaded trailer resting gently on 5th wheel. almost 72 and 50 plus yrs later !! why am I doing this. Tony"owner"a real good guy trying to help him. my bill to him $00.00 other bags here monday. tony needs truck for Sunday . put it back together.only4 bag set up
  19. guess I did it again with off topic 😂. now I'm really old;; when Your Mom was 8 yrs old in 1969, I was graduating HIGH SCHOOL.
  20. correction better look see a turbo . sorry long day changing air bags outside on a kw. with two tall shots of Polish brandy after.
  21. in '69 the truck vin number didn't spec the engine totally. ENDT673C shouldn't have been part of a vin. may have been on a bill of sale/ title; don't remember eng model on truck vin. the engine would determine the model number on registration such as a R-685==maxi or R611==thermodyne. in the picture posted not seeing a turbo. looks Natural aspirated. why does vin say ENDT673C?
  22. nice set up on the "wagon" also ,, push on or is it drivable onto trailer ? hope total height was measured.
  23. there's a big difference in having "toys" and letting someone else do the repairs while a person sits back at the shows bragging of his toys which he has no mechanical ability to fix . and someone having the "toys" and the willingness to do the repairs but has a greater common sense to know older age or set back makes it impractical to attempt repairs. dismounting/ mounting tires at an "experienced" age isn't best for anyone, stick with changing light bulbs.
  24. look close you can see the difference in the R611ST and R607T picture vs the R611T. R 611T has the new style mack letters for emblem . other two have the original one plate emblem on the front of hood for Mack.
