  1. It took going back 18 pages to investigate . conclusion :: I'm NOT taking the hit for off topic on this one. well maybe not 100%. LOL pulling injectors (original topic) went to engine removal (not me) , to safe engine lifting.to how built at factory. can we use our Mack coins to enter the bar for a drink. now I feel better for off topic, LOL🤣
  2. I wouldn't think twice about draining system completely and start all new fuel. cost of the new fuel has to be way lower then tow charge when it quits running on highway. which you would be buying all new fuel after anyhow. have to;; use a 5 gallon can strapped to fender with line to eng to run unit. crud in filter housing indicates the tank condition sometimes ..
  3. couldn't/wouldn't want to remember the dismount/mount tire project of the last xxxxx yrs. unfortunately my back reminds me EVERY morning, without actual count.ratchet straps/ either/ gas all been done. final summary;;let someone else do them . young and stupid== "don't need a crane to pickup that payloader tire I can do it . !!! say it so many times here:: you youngsters wear a back brace , use gloves and hearing cover.
  4. I questioned that a number of times. seems a lot of "activity" in the '17==='19 times. must have been used as a dating/ hook up site ???? then there are also truck related members apparently left due to a situation . bet there was a wealth of knowledge with them.
  5. somewhere I have a picture posted of ole number 1 =R607T 1001. has been rebuilt a few times but still in excellent condition. can notice differences in it versus "newer" R's. still has basically the B model radiator set up. has an electrical situation I was suppose to look at long while back. haven't got there yet. owner one heck of a great person. NO it's NOT for sale. Mack tried yrs ago to buy it back.
  6. are you trying to make me feel old??LOL .I drove those in the brochure when they were brand new. LMAO🤣.
  7. I had a international 260A excellent machine one and only problem the rear boom hyd also. turn table known for loss of power.
  8. same company that bought the R611T with RR also has the first R607T 1001 today. the 611 long gone but ole Number one R still there. R611 was replaced by Mack twin-screw ; don't remember transmission .wasn't 5speed possibly 12 speed. that was replaced by superliner. i see off topic happening ;; sorry.
  9. can almost have a sick stomach looking at those brochures. when Mack was bought out by another branch a janitor had a large ; (large to point couldn't pick it up had to drag on ground) almost full of the truck brochures. I picked out quite a few=not enough . rest thrown away. $10-20 on ebay today. who would have known.
  10. remember there was some that had a short center bracket that bolted to radiator bolts with two bolts for reenforcing shutter frame. just don't recall exact model.
  11. hopefully Matt ( or some one ) will log on having the answer. able to raise 3/8 in doesn't sound like a center brace is holding it
  12. 35 going on 36 ;; your catching up to us ole folk. LOL
  13. based on alum battery covers/ step ,other give aways; looks to be steel frame rails, possibly that's a RS 700 western??
  14. twin stick duplex would also be a R611 designation . set up a new '69 R611T for customer while at Mack ;it was a 13 speed road ranger. simple vins (and times) then .
  15. now this is a post that will attract a lot of attention. many here will be looking for picture up dates I'm sure. all the ideas follow through that will make one fine looking tractor.
  16. birthday best to YOU Sir😄
  17. 3/8th out:: is the shutters frame work hanging on the lower radiator tank bolts and needs to be raised up at an angle ?? can't remember which model has the short angle bracket in the center. Matt will have the answer I'm sure.
  18. in the day when dayton wheels were common ; budds were "high end "or fleets . many tire company's changed the tires on the unit. mainly the front steer. reason being they didn't want to use the time or have "static " from drivers the front wheels wobble. took a few minutes changing steer axle wheels /tires to get them true within 1/8=1/4 in . by dismounting/ mounting tires on the unit tire co not responsible for wobble wheel. watched many/ did a few. real pain in ass . budd wheel tire changing still on art when changed on truck
  19. the bigger the tire the easier the job. little john Deere 318 riding mower tires were worse then a Farmall H rear tire for me, and the Farmall tire was loaded.
  20. I know I'm old when it takes 12 hrs to replace 4 torque arm bushing in a KW . apparently it's expected to take spring saddles off to replace bushings. the 7/8bolts go from brake assembly towards rears . can't remove the 5 1/2 in bolts they hit axle spiders. u-bolts so close to saddles , can't remove even with a thin wall socket. never got to the three remaining air bags for changing. 5 in die grinder with cut off wheels cut the 7/8 bolts . putting new rubbers in arms biggest cluster. cleaned/ honed ; still couldn't press new ones in !! this has become a young mans(person) job.
  21. R-611T== 673T with a roadranger ??? Thanks for picture. hope more pictures in future;; interior/ engine compartment.
  22. wasn't much better performance ; but sure had a heck of a nice sound out the exhaust.
  23. It's not only a story you should tell and be extremely proud ;also interesting the way you distinguish between your children . large/medium/ small/extra small.
  24. trying to free it up for very little gain on braking could result in cracking the casting , now you end up looking for a spacer to take the gap in system. not leaking ;let it be. as earlier stated on my hino FA exhaust brake worked well , not holding back 80K cross country either.
  25. everything different todays world. especially when pulling injectors . how's that
