    They have 8 good runners and two parts rigs. They all cranked right up except for one parts rig.

    Guy on MO hwy 25 has one for sale. It is an all wheel drive dump. Massively heavy spec truck. I saw it while driving the RS back from highland. I actually stopped and visited with those guys for an hour or so. They run a few other old macks, including a sharp ol superdog.

    How do you get the little keepers that hold the firewall insulation loose? Are they reuseable? Will dynamat stick to the firewall or do I have to sand it smooth so it will stick?

    This vid is not accurate. Driver is far too skinny, clean shaven and showered, and no food stains all over the front of his shirt.

    That U shaped crossmember is what's needed to add air ride to an RL/RS. The one on the trucks without air ride is completely different.

    Did they run different when the gasket was bad? I didn't notice much difference on this one but the farther I went the worse it got.

    I have seen several R's with exhaust bolted to air ride cabs. I have no idea if they were factory or not. Maybe the flex pipe in the exhaust is enough to account for that little movement.

    The R will never hit the road again. It is here to donate parts to the valueliners when needed. The cab is really nice and it may end up on one of my RL's someday.

    I have an air ride R parts truck at the shop now. The cab is too nice to butcher for the air ride, but the front mounts are the same as any other R model I have seen.

    The r models I have seen that have air ride cabs all have the same front mounts as those without air ride.

    I wonder how hard it would be to mod a system from another truck to make it work?

    Anybody know of any other manufacturers of a system for a valueliner other than cabmate? They no longer offer one apparently.

    Tach wasn't working when I brought it home, but the noise gets prgressively worse until you fall off the turbo at around 2k. It is at it's worst around 55 mph which I figure is about 1700-1800 rpm.

    I know, I'm just wondering if it makes a racket when it does it's thing. I hear air hissing when going down the highway. The hissing is different than the turbo whistling.

    And what is the difference between a 283 and a 285?

    Does a properly working tip turbine make any noise? This one sounds like it has a boost leak, but it runs fine.

    Set up for heavy haul, wouldn't be surprised to see a v8 under the hood.

    I miss the days when the factories took the time to put those kinds of paint jobs on trucks. Pride of ownership was a big deal for owner-operators.
